    Excellent! Great film unspoilt by music or poor editing. I was lucky enough to fly in a 230 Squadron Puma a few years ago. It was awesome! Really enjoyed seeing this.

    I remember the 'Flying Tigers' , they were at RAF Aldergrove, Belfast in the '70's. In fact there is a good video on here/TH-cam of a 70's film of them . Brilliant taxis for we in the Army back then too.

      Loved these along with the Chinook Wessex and Gazelle we lived in the flightpath between Aldergrove and Limavady. Forgot about the Puma

    What is that lead the guy on the ground is holding ? Does that allow him to talk to the pilot ?

    • @rchelihaven5027
      @rchelihaven5027 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it is.
      Ground crews and aircrew use it to communicate with one another.

    Aren't you supposed to close the doors while it's airborne ?

      Not unless it is raining hard or very cold! 👍

      It's the crewman's job to be on the lookout for any hazards and it's much easier to do this with the doors open. He checks that it's 'Clear above and behind' before takeoff. He also acts as a weight, a chock and to carry the pilots' bags 😊.

      To give the South Africans credit, they designed the sand filters in front of the engines.
