    8:00 nice to see that the level of quality and attention to detail in the newer Mazdas are keeping the legacy alive.. I got to ride in one of these the other day after a 4 hour flight and when I got home, I felt refreshed and happy. The ride quality was great you just can feel a lot of bumps at low speeds because of the sport oriented suspension, the sound deadening and interior noise levels were amazing, it was almost dead quiet and I could carry on a conversation with my friend and clearly listen to music at 70 mph.. and despite the inside feeling a bit more snug, I felt comfortable due to the seats and riding position. All in all. Great experience

      The price has gone off the rails but...
      For the money the turbo is quick, quiet, comfortable, handles great and has a superb sound system that exceeds most factory installs. Despite it being 40k, it's quality feels more like a $60-$70K car,

    The subwoofer is actually pretty small. it's actually a Bose 5-1/2" subwoofer in a big cavity. The front doors in 2023 & 2024 stopped using those funky bose 9" inverted door speakers. Great review thanks 😊 👍🏻

    I just got my permit and was looking for a future car. I came across this car and immediately knew that this is the car I want to drive. It seems very reliable and has the perfect interior that I was looking for, also the subwoofer in the back is so cool.

    Hey there Charlie I want to thank you for this Gr8 video and all of your very awesome sound and video equipment that I have never heard in a youtube video before. I got a 2025 2.5 S Premium Plus CX-5 and it has the 10 speaker Bose sound system thta you are showing and letting me see and hear what I have and more over Charlie where the bloody speakers are as I could not find them and darn sure I tried to. You have a new subscriber so you can climb up in your viewership. I just spent 2 hours in my garage playing my sound system thanks to you and finding the speaker location as you stated so. I have a Polk surround system in my home and it's increabible and now I have this Bose system when I am not at home. I'm 72 and life seems to be getting better for me and my old ears:}.

    The Mazda Bose systems are pretty good specially, considering it’s a $30,000 vehicle nowadays the sound is nice and tight. The base is nice and tight. It’s not Bhoomi all of the notes sounds separate nothings too muddy. It could have probably a little bit more clarity and volume but overall, the sound quality is superior to the JBL in the Toyota in the price range, but Toyotas might be a touch and more base but it gets muddy and Bhoomi all the notes separate nicely in the Mazda that’s for music now if we’re watching a movie or listening to a podcast or something the Mazda is really good. They put a lot of thought into the positioning. While apple car play works significantly better the sound quality is far better on android auto

    Love your reviews, I’ve noticed that the sound is better in Mazda and Honda Bose systems, over Nissan. Guess it’s the positioning, calibration and insulation Mazda and Honda be using. 👌🏽

    Mazda Bose systems are really damn good for what they offer in their class, in my Mom’s 2012 Mazda3 Hatchback it sounds pretty good for a factory system.

    • @scottlowell493
      @scottlowell493 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They have been installed in GM vehicles too. What sets the system above most factory and some aftermarket installs: it's perfectly EQ'd for that specific vehicle. You are properly enveloped in even sound.

    • @christianbryant5617
      @christianbryant5617 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Mazda is always obsessed with having quiet cabins. The acoustic and double pane glass, sound deadening materials in the doors, sound system road noise compensation, and double to triple door seals are what makes it possible. I’ve only ever had German vehicles, Mazda, and Lexus and have noticed no difference in sound insulation at low or high speeds. All are great contenders

    I'm always disappointed with the soundstage in vehicles equipped with Bose, Mazda included. I need to hear the latest batch to see if legit improvements were made

    • @ludwigtheholyblade79
      @ludwigtheholyblade79 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Bose cheaped out on the amplifier, that's why they deliberately made sure that the sound is only focused for the driver and front passenger by placing 5 speakers in the front. I heard somewhere that the wattage is between 250 to 350 Watts. Imagine such low power going into a 10 speaker configuration. This is the reason why you are not getting good soundstage, and I agree with you. The speakers will definitely shine if we upgrade to a much powerful amplifier.

    • @kyron2092
      @kyron2092 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @ludwigtheholyblade79 finally someone that understands. Since my original comment, I've been able to hear the Bose in the new Mazda 3, and as you can guess, I was a bit disappointed. I thought I was finally going to hear a Bose system I liked, and although it's the best mainstream Bose system ive heard, it still has some flaws I can't ignore. The sound stage is incredibly low and imaging doesn't surpass the car's greenhouse. All of the sound is heard below your chest, when it should sound like it's coming from the ceiling. The imaging is also very one-sided whether in stereo or with Centerpoint on. Granted it does get loud with no distortion but bass is lacking even on max setting. However, I definitely applaud Mazda for putting the mid bass in the kick panel instead of the less rigid doors and the car is very quiet inside. But the 10 speaker Harman Kardon setup in the Kia optima is the best sound system I've heard in a mainstream sedan/ hatchback under $40k. Incredibly high and wide sound stage ( makes you feel like you're in a much larger space) warm and strong midrange, great clarity, and the only factory subwoofer in the price range that can hit the lows.

    • @chriskelly509
      @chriskelly509 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah the Bose sound system is not the best it's okay but on a scale of 1 to 10 I give it like a 6.5

  • @christopherrmcg
    @christopherrmcg 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Yeah this system lacks powerful bass. It's not satisfying for people that like to feel the low notes. The subwoofer isn't large or powerful enough. I want Mazda/BOSE to step it up. I'm hoping the new upscale Mazda crossovers have power similar to the bose "performance" lineup

    • @veneno14
      @veneno14 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Personally, I think it is actually quite adequate. I listen to a lot of hip-hop and edm that has a lot of that deep, powerful bass and it sounds like that it will absolutely sound amazing. This is coming from a guy who has a 2016 Mazda 6 with the 11 speaker Bose system, without a sub. I'd take this system any day over my Mazda 6 just for that

    • @christopherrmcg
      @christopherrmcg 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@veneno14 the difference is the mazda 6 has larger woofers for bass. The CX-5 only has 6 inch and 5 inch woofers for low end notes. The subwoofer itself is a 5.25 inch woofer which is simply not enough for deep low notes esp in a vehicle. The bass is heavily rolled off in all Mazda BOSE systems due to lack of power and/or lack of speaker size. Almost all except for maybe the current CX-9’s bose system all lack power and punch at the same time ie the bass is heavily limited in the CX-30/3 when the volume is turned up but it sounds great at low volumes

      I respect your take, but I’ve always appreciated Bose for how their music always sounds the most true. Like they don’t crank up base to the level that other brands do. I love a good beat drop but Bose nails it when it comes to anything other than that earth shaking bass

    • @ludwigtheholyblade79
      @ludwigtheholyblade79 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can buy and download lossless audio and transfer it to the USB stick, if you don't care for the price. Or you can simply take the subscription of "Tidal" and stream over your phone. Lossless audio is currently a bit expensive. The best bet for you is to go with CD ripping, but since CD's are outdated, you might not find the artists what you are looking for

    (Based on the 2023 model) The Bose sound is embarrassing, muddy bottom end, lacks separation, no real sound stage, and little way to provide good source input. I run FLAC lossless through Carplay/USB, which seems to be about as good as I can get (theoretical 24/192 quality but who knows what the Mazda DAC does with it). I would throw this head unit in the trash and replace the entire system if it wasn't for the damned tight integration with several other onboard systems (not a new problem). While I grant that audio in vehicles is a challenging environment, I know from firsthand experience that the quality here is well below what could be delivered, and certainly not worth the asking price. This system is fine if you haven't been spoiled by good audio equipment, but if you have, don't count on anything here IMO
