A great band who’ve stood the test of time, written some excellent songs, although they have a big following I feel they’ve never got the acclaim they really deserve. I used to work as a sound technician in the 1990s-2010 at a rehearsal studio in Stockport, Manchester, The Charlatans rehearsed there for years for long periods so got to know them well, very nice down to earth guys. Our highlight was a Friday when all bands had left and my band would rehearse late into the night in The Charlatans rehearsal room and we were able to use Rob Collins’ Hammond organ and Martin Duffy’s keyboards/synths, very kind of them to let us use them, so a big thank you to two keyboard legends who are hugely missed and brought so much individuality to modern music.
Just got out of bed, having a first sip of coffee, and listening to one of my favourite bands...hat a freakin' awesome way to start the day! Excellent performances, which included some much-appreciated reaching back to the first few delicious albums. Thank you lads (and KEXP)!!!👍👍
Nice to see a group keeping the “Manchester” sound going. What music could’ve been if the Stone Roses, The Happy Mondays and Oasis could’ve kept it together.
They still sound soo good! Thats the thing with most English bands they always sound so damn good live- & I would know because I'm a girl who's seen a lot of them live!♥️
