This doesn't do anything for felons with 1 violent felony who has no other criminal history prior or after completing parole or probation. We are still looked down upon and its unfair! We all make mistakes and people change., I'm one and I cant get away from this because of my past. I can't support my children, I cant vote, I cant so ANYTHING. Meanwhile everyone else is free to start over and it's not fair.

@guess what violent felons can have their gun rights restored after 5 years so thats not true and how do you know they will commit a crime when they have a felony expunged? Most people have got caught up in some bs and a constantly judged because of it mean while people who have non violent offense keep repeating the same pattern. Its like nobody is learning to stop doing stupid stuff. And no I don't live in Detroit anymore!

@guess what yes federal no because of the lack of funds a felon Cannot own a gun but i have seen people with violent crimes receive them. They are on TH-cam. And U can get therm here in ga, and other places. And I'm saying for violent people who haven't been into anything since their crime! If one goes 10 plus years without any trouble and it's their only offense why nor? I agree some people shouldn't have it fr, sex offenders are one. But what if you got caught up hanging with someone and you caught a violent felony and u know damn well u didn't do anything. U may be just in the store and something happens and they say u were involved now u have a violent felon. Would you still feel that same way? People get lied on, set up and all that, who knows but every one walking a straight path at some point deserves a second chance.

@guess what so i knew this dude back home. He was a great friend until he start messing with this older chick, he's 17 and she's 27. Some guy that wanted her wanted his house fixed up and painted and thats what he did in his free time. The young man left a few tools there which were later used by the other older guy who liked the lady in a crime. By the young man's finger prints being on the weapon and the older guy saying the yound man did it in a statement it stuck! They both got rime when the young man wasn't even there. So is that man supposed to go in life labeled a violent person? He came home, stayed to himself and never been into a fight since he been home. Is he considered a violent man after that? And I care so much because I'm born and raised there and I'm sick of people getting messed over. Why do u comment with so much hate towards these people? I mean if u cheated on your girl and left you you would want a second chance right? Everyone deserves it and people like this its sad they are locked down on

@Papa Smurf yeah your absolutely right after I contacted a attorney in Michigan.. ridiculous in my opinion...it's for smaller bs crimes.... everything is a crime in America....crime capital of the world

Yeah after contacting Boria law office in Michigan it's a good chance I cannot get my record expunged. I have a dismissed case in Massachusetts on record .yet it's still shows after 30 fn years dismissed yet it's there...not fair at all...I'm 50 now in a few months .. good thing I have a trade that coud care less about shit on record but now it's too easy to check on people
