I didn't know about trimming away from a quartering chop. Thanks!

Great explanation, Captain Will. I have often been puzzled, wondering why you adjust the port side from the starboard side adjuster and visa versa. Finally, you bring this all into focus and provide a great explanation of the head and following seas adjustment. I have been watching your docking videos for a few years and am finally glad I have a face to match the voice. Keep up the great information. Very Much Appreciated!

Loving the channel man. I’m 3 videos in and loving the content. I’m a lake guy running a single engine 27 cobalt so there is a lot that doesn’t necessarily apply but loving learning some above my level.
    Much Appreciated Captain

I found a centerline shallow (6-degree) Glass Tube Inclinometer near the helm useful.

I concur with the other commenters, this is an awesome video and you are an excellent instructor. I apologize for my ignorance, but you have outboard engines that can be trimmed. What if you have a boat that has an inboard or inboard/outboard engines. I'm guessing that type of engine wouldn't have the ability to trim.

Thank you! Yes if it’s straight inboards then you don’t have to worry about it but you can trim an I/O the same as an outboard

@@thecaptainscoach Thanks for the response. One of the things I learned from this video is that you can use trim tabs individually. I always thought it was all or nothing, meaning they are up or they are down. Your demonstration and explanation was very helpful.

Another advantage of Manual Control over Automatic is that the operator sees what is coming and can adjust for it. The auto system cannot look ahead or anticipate.
