- In this adventure, I ventured into the wild with minimal gear, building a natural shelter and sleeping next to a large fire, only with a foam sleep pad and a merino wool blanket. The fire was the key to staying warm. I built it to produce a lot of heat and stoked it every 2-3 hours throughout the night. The merino wool blanket absorbed the heat from the fire, and it felt like I was sleeping under an electric blanket. It’s a very comfortable way to sleep, as long as you don’t mind waking up every few hours to add wood to the fire.
Despite the temperature dropping to -14°C (7°F), I stayed warm the entire night. This experience was so much fun, and I really enjoyed it.
My goal was to catch a wild brown trout from a mountain stream, but the trout didn’t seem very hungry, which made the challenge harder than I expected. I returned to camp to cook a delicious trout meal over the fire. The constant snowfall made things tougher, but at the same time, it showcased the beauty of winter nature in all its glory.
Thank you to everyone who watches!
