I waited long enough to make this video, on the one hand, because I'm not familiar with The 100, i only did one crappy video before, and on the other hand, because there have already been a lot of videos on Octavia. But I found that the season 5 gave a different dimension to the character, she was for me one of the most interesting characters of this season, and that's why I finally decided to do this video. So I hope you will enjoy

@Trevor j bro, if bellamy and Clark didn't open the bunker for other clans then life outside the buker will be dead. Then how will diyoza drill open the bunker if there were no one to tell her that there was a bunker where people are alive. The bunker was blocked by tons of stones. Think bro, if Clark and bel were inside then diyoza with her troop would occupy the valley and people inside the bunker will die of starvation.

Octavia symbolise depression, force, revival. When we see what she going throught, she reminds me of BUFFY hard times (s6)
Octavia really "Going trought the motion" after Lincoln's death, she was full of pain, responsability and fragile strenght at the same time. She don't have any reason to live but she continue to work for others peoples lives. She's definitely a warrior. The real definition of a survivor. She never wanted to be "the chosen one", the leader, but she was the only selfless person able to see beyond clans with all the physical force at this time - conclave -for saving them. She hate to be "the chosen one" in the bunker, she save them, but that honorable act then cursed her, making her the inevitable decision-maker and the person to blame, she had to make horrible choices - listening her advisors - that she did not want to make and that made her sink gradually into madness and loneliness .. Octavia is so complex, so well written character, she's just so amazing.
For me that in Octavia is burning the farm it is a desperate act.
After Lincoln she took refuge in fights she waged for others, avoiding thinking of her because she had no more reason to live, joy, fire in her. (Thinking about Buffy's "Walk trought the fire" song, Octavia herself could say "I'm touching the fire and it freezes me" "Why can't I feel? My skin should crack and peel? Meaning that she doesn't" feel "anymore, as if she were dead inside. Octavia was empty inside, her gift for combat, the world and the native teaching of Lincoln and Indra, her identity & ability of a native warrior was all that was left to her (her own brother being responsible for the assassination of the love of her life.) In the bunker, she was forced to make choices so that the others would survive, they place her on a throne and she have all the burden and responsibility borne alone. astonishing that she sinking into madness little by little. Alone and disgusting herself. She must have created her character Bloodreina to accept her obligation to make these cannibal and monstrous choices Abby said that this was the only way to make her people survive. It was wearing a mask, entering a leadership role (which was not in her nature or her wish, she always said "I'm not a leader. I'm a fighter, a warrior") for the good of others and their ultimate survival. It did not please her. It wasn't even her idea. You can see Abby's influence, the influence of those children's tales that she shared with Bellamy and then Niyla, and Gaia's suggestions. It all went to her head. And after years of silencing Octavia to be the "Reina" they needed, she totally sank into her role, becoming Bloodreina because Octavia would not surpote this cannibal acts. It's like she create a second personnality by instinct of survival, and then the second personnality kill the first one for take power and make shut her concsiens.
Octavia had to create this character to survive because she was disgusted with what she had to do in. ur ensure the survival of others. So it's seems a natural consequences that over the years, this character makes her sink into madness and that was all she had left and kept her alive.
Before, she fought for the future with Lincoln, then she fought for the others thanks to what he taught her, then she sank in this hard and horrible role of leader and ended up sinking. She only had that left.
6 years later she was only Bloodreina, she have no choice to "destroy" Octavia and her conscience, to be able to eat human flesh and for others to do so and thus live. And this act of burning the farm was her only way to keep this role, otherwise she had nothing left. It's also a bit like a last act of madness, a suicidal act. Like Buffy in the musical episode, where she tries to dance until death and ignite, Octavia could also say, like Buffy, "Give me something to sing about" meaning, give me a reason to live, I have none more. She know everyone hate her. She doesn't have friend of family anymore at this time. She was only Bloodreina, cannibal for survive & power. If she loose it, she will have nothing left. So in her sink and heartbreaker mind every act was for win this battle "stay bloodreina" "stay with power, he is your only and last partner"
When she comes out of the bunker she is confronted with her collapsing role, the others and new ones are there, the world has changed, and she can no longer be Bloodreina but she no longer knows how to be someone else or become Octavia again. A bit like a person coming out of a coma, a war, a trauma,
an attempt to suck and who no longer knows how to relearn how to live, its place in this world, how to communicate with others even if we no longer know who we are and if we want to see the future. We can't go back to normal life like that, we're out of step. It's exactly what Octavia represent. And s6 explore that too very well, a long way down to get better, to feel and act again.
Octavia has an exciting journey. Because it is long, well exploited, raw, true. Her release and discovery of her true self in the first seasons, her struggles and trials of the life she forged (although she always had this natural force which slept in her under the ground then in prison), descent to hell in the s5 and then how is possible to go back up the hill after so much trauma. The writers wrote Octavia with sincerity and remarkable application. Her course and ready, logical, there are no inconsistencies in his character and unexplained or baccled change.
Marie Avgeropoulos deserve Awards for her dramatical interpretation, her performance in every season is so different and amazings each times, Octavia have so many faces and this is all thanks to the writers who wrote so well this original character, and, first of all, Marie Avgeropoulos, one talented human for portraying so many emotions and shades of one human.

I'm a bit crying. She's the best character. I love her so much. And this video is masterpiece.
In most shows, after a time jump all the characters are still pretty similar. The 100 is so good at being so damn realistic on how people handle and react to things. In other shows, characters will go through trauma and grief and it will barely show, they’ll be okay again eventually and their personalities won’t even change (the vampire diaries OML), but in the 100 the writers are so realistic in showing how chaos affects and changes everybody, and each person handles it differently. Some people even kill themselves :(. Others become violent corrupt leaders. The 100 is painfully realistic in showing how people would react in situations like this!!! That’s why this show doesn’t get any complaints in its writing unlike other shows!!! It doesn’t ever stray too far from the basic theme of the show like if they suddenly decided to add in vampires or some shit that would kill the plot. The plot is PAINFULLY golden each season and just WOW. It only gets better and it’s the first show I’ve watched that’s going to be finishing strong, instead of being dragged out for a bunch of seasons with the most obviously random plot lines that don’t make sense. This show is tv series GOLD and the writers deserve an award and more credit then what they get!!!

Octavia didn’t lose herself after Lincoln’s death. She found herself, even if it wasn’t to everyone’s liking. Who Octavia is now is who she always was. She just needed to figure it out

Honestly Bellamy had a part to play in why she is like this he took the one thing she loved the most away apart from Bellamy so he should get off his high horse and start blaming himself after everything she has been through all she knows is loss and pain and war thanks to Clarke despite her intentions they always lead to war

C'était incroyable Jesse! Je sais pas combien d'heures cette vidéo t'as pris mais ça se voit que t'y as passé énormément de temps ! L'évolution du personnage est tellement bien représentée et ducoup on comprend pourquoi elle est devenue comme ça.
