Main thing I love about this episode is the Franklin stuff. When I was a kid, the battle was amazing, but as a grew up, the Franklin internal struggle started hitting too close to home.
Same. That was the plot line that stuck with me as the heart of the show. I saw most of the episodes out of order on reruns as a kid, and this thread remained the thematic heart of the show in my memory, more so than the eldritch horror of the shadows, the mystery of the Vorlons, the iconicness of the Minbari, the tragedy of the Narn-Centauri conflict. Those were all great, poignant, and etched into my memory, but when I went back to rewatch it from start to finish as an adult, it was Franklin's walkabout that was at the forefront of that impetus. Such a powerful life lesson.
@orthochronicity6428 and it should not be overlooked or ignored. Franklin is not everyone's favorite character, but in my opinion he I'd the most relatable. He's not perfect, he makes mistakes, but that's what makes him human.
All of the visions were part of the vision he got from Kosh back in Season 2... ...he doesn't have an evil twin, but... His equal and opposite... ...but the Man Inbetween... Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock...
Great reaction! I always love how JMS brings all these arcs & threads together in Babylon 5... all I'll say is that episode 22 is an epic way to end a season!!
Beth Toussant was out of the country and unavailable to come back. Mellissa Gilbert had an opening in her schedule so she agreed to come on and help out.
You'll lose your sh$t in the next episode! This show is such a rollercoaster tease - and nothing goes to waste. It all ties back to or forward to something else.
A very nice callback to S2E16 "In the Shadow of Z'Ha'Dum", where Sheridan kept asking Delenn what if she's still alive? Things are about to get Even More Interesting. Because you know, they're so dull up to this point. (Ha!)
This is a solid episode. Indeed! What does it all mean. We shall see. Franklin meeting himself was a solid scene and I like where he ended up. The Shadows ran. Interesting. And then there is Anna! and we really see Delenn's flashforward. Be seeing you!
Re: John's Dream/Vision - that was way back in season 2 episode 11 (All Alone in the Night) when he was kidnapped by aliens & experimented on (where he met Ta'Lon the Narn warrior), it was only a short sequence so it's not surprising that you didn't remember it. Re: What can the Shadows do - I think you missed the part where the little ship detached from a Shadow vessel & then that ship arrived at the station carrying... Anna, ie the Shadows have already started.
@@CaesiusX Theres another set of reactors who seemed to miss the Shuttle bit as well, they didnt recognize the smaller ship as an Earth Alliance Vessel and thought it was a shadow ship of some sorts.
@NZBigfoot If we're taking about the same small craft (the one which emerged from the shadow vessel at the end of Shadow Dancing), then I recall that ship as being a previously unseen design. 🛸🚀

Possible Spoiler Shelley..... .... .... .... .... .... .... .... I've seen this series several times now and "The man in between" I didn't catch until my 3rd or 4th time re-watching the entire series. Will be interesting if she catches it. I know the first time I didn't just because I was watching it on TV and had to wait. LOL

Franklins alter ego sounds alot kike his father .
I agree. Pew pew pew gets a bit boring, but Franklin confronting himself has relevancy.

I never get tired of the B5 space combat stuff, but Dr Franklin's little speech to himself is one I reference a LOT to people.
One of the best episodes of the series IMO!
I love every aspect of it. The space battle, the Franklin stuff, all of it.
This is such a great run of episodes! The way the plot threads weave in and out is amazing.

Marcus on walkabout until he meets himself. Well, he just met himself.
And he talked quite a bit like Richard Franklin.
melissa gilbert from little house was married to bruce at that time of the series. they had her play his wife for this season.

I wondered about that too (missing her "shuttle" emerging from the shadow ship).

Okay, Last time for All our sanity’s, it’s Not Z’Ha’Dumb😖, It Is Z’Ha’ Doooooom!😱
The problem is that Z'Ha'Dum is never spoken by any of the cast, except in those episodes where they do talk a lot about it.
