Incredible that after ten years, you guys are still watching this TH-cam ripoff, instead of the original one, from the author itself, here: vimeo.com/7809605
This movie will never get old or obsolete because it's not driven by what the tools or plugins can do at that time. It's still my favorite. When I watch it I don't think about any technical aspect, I just enjoy it.
I've been watching this video at least once a year for many years now. It creates a very warm and calm place in my mind. Sometimes makes me cry. I don't know why. But i like it.
as ¨the Brird¨ said it,s architecture and cinema the third and the seventh arts, Computer Graphics its either a happy coincidence and a wise decision of him for a deeper meaning that might be the reason not to mention the arts since it works for CG too.
Still remember as a kid when this was released on Vimeo and saw it for the first time and was filled with emotion an wonder. Never went into the field of animation or anything related, but this video is a precious memory still.
This is legend. after more than 10 years. I still can't find anyone that is better than Alex Roman. I can't imagine how he obtained all those masterpieces back then. even nowadays we have improved a lot on both hardware and software, but this is still the No. 1. if you guys know what I am talking about.
Still the best right! :) I think so. Its not all about making it look real with high res textures or an infinite number of 4k maps like in planet of the apes or avatar. Its making it feel that way. Always rockin!
Incredible that after seven years, you guys are still watching this TH-cam ripoff, instead of the original one, from the author, here: vimeo.com/7809605
in every 3D walkthrough render i do, this is still my inspiration. nothing can beat this piece even a decade later where the technology is way more advanced. just breathtaking! it's the story / concept here that makes this perpetually superior! 🖤🖤🖤
2009 it was mind blowing 2018 it has become a cult for such a pice of art, this man has achieved him self what hollywood has lost in his big fancy films , the spirit...
It's how the focus shifts like it was recorded with a real camera that really gets me, and the amazing lightning, such soft shadows of different shades.
Beautiful, stunning, amazing, astounding, wonderful, fabulous, spectacular! None of these words even come close to describing how magnificent this is! This is truly a work of art. A Masterpiece.
Totally agree with all comments about how beautiful work this is. As an engineer though, I have to point out that the blades of the wind turbines are turning backwards.
A trick I was played and a trick I was dealt. Stunning. I watched the whole thing. Its been awhile since I've been so entranced by something. Absolutely breath-taking. Beautiful music too, it fit so well.
I had to log on just to say how wonderful this is. Not just beautiful, but it has a unbelievable great mood of peace, progress and greatness of the human mind, on a society not far fetched. Thank you very much. Feeling great.
wow. i'm currently attending a private art school in new york. and when i see things like this. it only solidifies my passion. thank you for sharing this immensely beautiful piece with the world. i really do appreciate it.
Best CGi I have ever seen! I mean, at first I thought somebody was just using an intense bad ass camera. Then crazy @#$% started to happen like books flying and water bubbles. This is REALLY well done!
I don't think this is bad by any means at all. It clearly took time, effort, and concious thought to create, which is a lot more than what can be said for a lot of other works of art out there. I don't think it's spectacular either, but I don't see the point in everyone criticizing the living hell out of it simply because they, in their own mind, don't like the video. Just in case any of you have forgotten, art - any form of art has no right or wrong. It's strictly interpretive and expressive.
Wow it's from the best videoes i'v ever seen Amazing I feel like I have benn refreshed !!! You made a fabled video you are really artist I loved Architecture more and more...
Breath taking. It give the feeling of over time, anything is possible. It creates the feeling of wonderment, vastness, movement and harmonizing and blending the golden ratio with the mescaline and famine attributes of a world. I fell in love with it.
2024. It's been 15 years. I teach students video production and film making and this is still one of the first videos I show them. Way ahead of his time.
I watched the movie yesterday after your comment since i never watched GATTACA and yeah what an amazing movie, seems he got a lot of inspiration from that movie.
Those are all actual places that do exist in the real world, but what you see is not real. Alex Roman the creator, rebuilt them on 3d studio max and added textures, lighting and rendered them in Vray. Then he post produced them in After Effects. and edited it in Premiere. He is a sick individual with sick skills and vision and foresight thats not to be fukt with. He pushed the software to the limit and created this masterpiece all by himself. This is the future of film making.
Anyone know any other good videos that showcase awesome architecture? Can be digitally made or filmed. Although I am really digging digital renders right now.
10yrs ago I was just a student, today I'm an architect, and still, this work inspires me and motive as only the art of a few big names can do. Thanks
2019! 10 years passed by this masterpiece aged like fine wine.
Totally! Its like those classic timeless songs. And a lot of the shots in here look almost real so that makes it timeless as well. :)

@@conin.v Indeed. The vimeo quality is miles better. Thanks for the link!
2023! Y sigue siendo una animacion IMPRESIONANTE a dia de hoy, un genio total Alex Roman!!
This movie will never get old or obsolete because it's not driven by what the tools or plugins can do at that time. It's still my favorite. When I watch it I don't think about any technical aspect, I just enjoy it.
As an architect, I think this is the most beautiful video I've ever seen.
Absolutely agreed.
I'm not an architect, and this video is breathtaking!
for 3D guys like me, this film makes me want to go back to college and take architecture. #inspiring
I've been watching this video at least once a year for many years now. It creates a very warm and calm place in my mind. Sometimes makes me cry. I don't know why. But i like it.
recuerdo que lo vi hace 14 años en vimeo, es increíble!!!
I've just realized that the Third and the Seventh letters in the alphabet are CG
Elia D Actually i think the title refers to 2 artforms
as ¨the Brird¨ said it,s architecture and cinema the third and the seventh arts, Computer Graphics its either a happy coincidence and a wise decision of him for a deeper meaning that might be the reason not to mention the arts since it works for CG too.
Still my favorite render of all time. Very zen and relaxing, and the architecture is soo visually pleasing.
Still remember as a kid when this was released on Vimeo and saw it for the first time and was filled with emotion an wonder. Never went into the field of animation or anything related, but this video is a precious memory still.

It is the artist who makes the art, not hardware nor software
It's been 7 years now, and it still looks amazing
Still the best right! :) I think so. Its not all about making it look real with high res textures or an infinite number of 4k maps like in planet of the apes or avatar. Its making it feel that way. Always rockin!

I still love it in 2023, almost brings tears of joy to my eyes, beautiful.
This film will never get old or outdated. It's timeless human expression, envisioned with heart and executed with soul.

¡Es la mayor Obra y expresión de Arte que he visto jamás!!... la vo hace 6 años y sigue siendo indiscutible! moriré mirándola felizmente!
It's been 10 years now, and still I cannot see any better video in same manner out there.
It's how the focus shifts like it was recorded with a real camera that really gets me, and the amazing lightning, such soft shadows of different shades.
I'm just about to cry, speechless and facinated, this video is the most closest definition of art, period.
Beautiful, stunning, amazing, astounding, wonderful, fabulous, spectacular!
None of these words even come close to describing how magnificent this is!
This is truly a work of art. A Masterpiece.
Masterpiece. I agree.
This is animation. And it still makes me cry. Unbearably talented piece of work.
This is what I call a 3D artist work!!! Unbelievable! Mind blowing! Breathtaking!!! I BOW before this ART !!!
OMG Con este video literal empezo mi passion por la arquitectura.

2020 Fall and this is still one of the best of the best CGI shorts I´ve ever seen!!!!!
The inconceivable detail involved in this CGI is quite frankly humbling. Never seen anything quite like this. Cant imagine how long this work took
2 years.
I saw this video for the first time when it was posted on vimeo by alex roman and it is responsible for setting my on my current carrier path.
must have started rendering this in 1948
When i need to be creative, this video puts me in the zone every time. Its inspiring, moving and simply beautiful. Awesome work.
I had to log on just to say how wonderful this is. Not just beautiful, but it has a unbelievable great mood of peace, progress and greatness of the human mind, on a society not far fetched. Thank you very much. Feeling great.

@loombaron I cried too!!! I could never imagine beauty could be so heart breaking. Everytime I see it I cry, its sublime in all ways.
“What will grow crooked you can’t make straight. It’s the price that you gotta pay.”
This... I .. Ive got no words... Wow! The amount of detail in this video is even better than in real life..
Every time I watch this video I feel like I'm taking a glimpse into heaven..

I loved Architecture more and more...
I have watched this before every real-estate shoot that I have filmed for the past 8 years. Timeless art
Think it would be easier to just build all the things in this movie and shoot them. ;) This is truly fantastic!
Whoa this was made in 2010? That's very impressive work even for today's standards, let alone 5 years ago...
2009.
@@LSK2K 2020!!!!

Amazing, Alex !!! Congratulations!!!
Started crying. Then recognized the song is a slowed version from the movie GATTACA and it made sense.
I watched the movie yesterday after your comment since i never watched GATTACA and yeah what an amazing movie, seems he got a lot of inspiration from that movie.
One of the best OST.
The one and only Alex Roman.
Breathtakingly stunning.

It looks better than real life. I wish things actually looked this slick in real life.
I wish, that when I die, that would be heaven...so peaceful, silent, beautiful.....

I'm so afraid that it's going to turn out we've all been duped
But for now I believe and I'm in love
The Music is: GATTACA - The Departure - by Michael Nyman

Breathtaking.
Simplesmente FANTASTICO!!!!
How is this possible......its amazing
to all the maya users. Max kicks some serious ass. Thats whats CG is suposed to be. The Max vindication.
I think I saw this five times back in 2010 before I discovered it was 3d animated rather than just photographed. And I'm an architect...
nunca me canso de ver este video :D
Hola me encantó el video!
Disculpa sobre la música quisiera saber si tú la hiciste, es que me gustaría usarla para un proyecto :)
is there really a computer that can render this awesome piece of art?
It's amazing how 12 years has passed and today that could be recreated in unreal egine 5.
De aquí surgió todo lo referente a la representación gráfica arquitectónica moderna?!
Still love this
Trying to do something similar for my university project
Paul Bryan reply with link here if you do
Yeah, i will defo upload it when it is done

So beautiful...
Absolutely breathtaking. Btw does anybody know the piece played in the beginning of the video? From 0:00 to 1:35
Cant say if its reality or cgi. Had to read the description to find out. Great work!
You've just gone from zero friends whilst making it (because you must not have got out much) to 80,000+ friends, instantly! :-)
Very impressive stuff!
