Saw same recipe was explained by some kerala people. They are also using red chilli and green chilli and hing also. Lobia also they are adding. No chilli powder , green chilli. hing then what else you use.

Pepper powder is a main ingredient apart from coconut in Erissery....plus you need to fry the coconut to brown color to bring out the authentic flavor
