My Squier JM thay I really poured myself into modding, upgrading, lesrning thr ins and out of maintainence and setup, etc. is the most bonded with snd most respect for that I've ever felt with a guitar I've owmed, including far more exoensive ones. Really, I've spent more on all of that then what the vanilla guitar was orignally worth. The rewards have felt enormous. So I do think it's an investment if we quantify value on an emotional and functional level. It's true they have a poor resale value. But, think of how relic'ing is such a recurring them in partscaster build design philosophy. It's kind of nice to add to the sum or that with the guitar being appreciated as something to be maintained, modified, decorated, inherited, etc. instead of appreciated solely for it's liquid value. Thr value of money is only what it can buy us, anyway!
I also agree with and appreciate you extolling that this is a worthwhile investment IF you have the vision snd know-how (or at least drive to obtain such knowledge and willingness to take a direct, logical approach). I would recommend first taking a similar path as how i described; buy a budget guitar (so the stakes feel relatively low) and go absolutely ham on learning the in's and outs and how to set it up and be extremely ambitious with mods akd upgrades and do some even unnecessary things just for the exercise. Don't be afraid to run it into the ground. You'll learn a ton, snd you'll find your inspiration for your own build.

I put my logo in my partscasters usually. I stopped building from kits and source parts out from around the world to try new things. I received a neck from China that was a work of art and used it on a partscaster body that was a NEON YELLOW from guitar fetishes bargain blemish bin. I bought the Floyd Rose overseas from someone claiming it was an OEM FRTS1000, the pickups are various Alnico 5's from companies on Amazon.
I love testing out all these things and seeing where quality really lies these days with the bigger companies skimping on metals and quality.

Hi Hussam. I didn’t notice any bad smell but it’s very important that it’s BOILED linseed oil and not just linseed oil 😉👍
