Finally got to fpv something other than a mini/macro quadcopter. 1/6th scale truck is perfect for fitting the system in, shot some footage from the onboard air unit recording 1080p 60 fps and from the navigator point of view a hero 7 black at 1080p 60 fps with hypersmooth on. Both cameras had an ND 8 (the smo 4k nd filters fit perfect on the dji cam if you have the little tpu lens protector on). Some color correction, what do you guys think!?!?! I think the DJI video is good enough, the audio sucks but maybe I can do something about that, ran everything today on 75% throttle limit on 6s, its an 8s truck so thats going to be absolutely insane. Did a few hits when i got back to the house at 100% throttle on 6s and its a little much for me, this is my first RC car in like 20 years lol. Maybe i can invent Gorilla trucking where we got rip places in fpv rc cars lol

This randomly popped up on my feed after I just bought this truck. 100% going to do this now, looks so fun! Thanks for the video.

You’re welcome, it was a blast. If you have an open area or dirt track to run that would be ideal, navigating at high speed gets super sketchy 🤣.
Also a pan gimbal would be good for turning / drifting. Have since done some head tracking on a few planes but never had it working when I had the truck.
Hope you enjoy the truck, it was a blast while I had it.

Losi 5ive T with an electric conversion would be a much better choice for FPV. Extremely stable and plenty of room for any FPV gear you could ever want.

Right! You can turn the front wheels and throttle sometimes it’ll kick over, I’m not that talented yet 🤣🤣

Looks like you get a pretty good view from the drivers seat!

It was pretty fun, I think a head tracker would have suited it well. Positioning the camera where I did have a balance of scale point of view and functionality but the roof line and lack of peripheral vision made navigating at high speed sketchy 🤣

@@Finalmile_FPV for sure tough to find the balance between those aspects. Ive been leaning towards scale point of view lately. Love the super baja rey 👍

Super clean cockpit video. I’m impressed. I got the king version but probably gonna order the official brenthal body very soon

They both look good, but dang I’m partial to the yellow and grey of the Brenthal. And thank you, it’s fun to rip but I think driving it without fpv is actually better lol.

I have 1/6 Donald triumph and Schwarzenegger heads for the driver and passenger lol. It’s a blast to drive just to watch the suspension work. The super rock Rey limiting straps work great in it too.

@@mikehagquist5198 I might try those. I have the medium springs, I run the front high and the back low to try and get rotation and not roll overs in the corners. Thinking of stiffening the front and maybe locking the diff, I like some drift but don’t want to compromise the angle coming off the jumps by spring rate imbalance.

Subbed ! Looking to see more vids of this to come !!! I've had mine since Nov 2020 , before the rear braces came out , home made a " plate " system on the cage , works a lot better . Broke my front bumper and took until this May to get one !! Don't break your bumper , LOL !!! Thanks !!!

Thank you! How are you liking it overall? So far I love mine, haven’t tried 8s yet… need a bit more room than the local park I think. Lol. I’m gonna take to out this weekend for some higher speed dirt driving hopefully. 🤘

@@Finalmile_FPV Haven't driven mine on 6s LOL !!! Fast and durable ( except front bumper LOL ) , doesn't jump like other rcs , I enjoy it for the scale look / driving and speed it has . Watch my vids on mine if you get a chance .

Owned mine since nov 2020 as well. I have the skookum braces for rear. As far as bracing being more sturdy than existing chassis and causing other parts to break...this truck is tough.. Any collision or sudden stop by brick mailbox(me first day) with enough energy to break something, will whether brace is on it or not in my opinion. (Earl Moorhead did a thorough r&d on brace and toughness). It completely changes the driving characteristic of the truck. like S&P RC, I broke my front bumper immediately..
Alot of my driving is on pavement mixed with dirt. Has anyone tried different weight shock oils or stiffer springs? Getting traction from front wheels consistently is difficult I am finding under average and above acceleration.

I’ve got that same style brace but plastic, it really does make it a different truck, back end is much more planted and articulated the way it should. I’ve got the front end wheel spin as well, going to firm up the back some but I like the way it tucks now under load and allows hard cornering without the rolling, adding pre load to the front of springs helped as well but on rolling dips at speed I’m starting to get spring bounce on the front where the front end is just skipping along, really hesitant to soften it back up though. Seriously considering running the 0 degree toe spacers in the rear, hopefully then I could keep the back end a little looser and soften the front slightly I lost a front sway bar ball joint connector and broke one of the plastic braces (I got extras) but I was really sending it at the bmx track, so maybe the metal brace from Skookum is in order. Love the truck though
