Christmas is such a beautiful holiday isn’t it?
The Decorations are so stunning:
Christmas trees with lights and ornaments
Christmas lights on houses
Garland, wreaths, and candles
The Food is Wonderful:
Christmas cookies
Ham, Turkey and “chestnuts roasting on an open fire”
The Activities are so fun:
Christmas shopping
Sending and receiving Christmas cards
Christmas caroling
Christmas parties
And we love the Christmas music
The Christmas carols and hymns
The Handbells
Even the Crooners Christmas songs
In Scripture, the Christmas story is also beautiful!
4,000 years of Old Testament prophecies are beginning to be
fulfilled - God kept His word and promises!
A young virgin named Mary gives birth to the Son of God
An angel appears to Shepherds in the field telling them to “fear not, for behold I bring you good tidings of great joy that shall be for all people! For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior who is Christ the Lord! And this will be a sign unto you, you will find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a Manger!” Everything in the Christmas story is so beautiful!
But wait!
Before you go too far down that path, you better hear what the prophet Isaiah said 700 years before Jesus was born in Bethlehem! Isaiah foretold much about the Savior, with a heavy emphasis on His ugly mission to save the world!.
