What a wild game. Oh btw drongo, I was fortunate enough to play the patch just before the rollback and you'll be happy to hear the trade post bug seems to be completely fixed. I TRIED getting units stuck and I couldn't do it.
Quality casting. Your commentary is reminiscent of pro sport commentators. I don't think you need to speed it up if the game is 20-25 min and it's action packed like this, as you fill out the brief lulls with interesting info (e.g points about market, map explored, gather rates, etc).
ya man this is like watching a television broadcasted game in terms of quality. at all times he has a detail to point out. and as a legacy AOE3 player who has yet to play DE, i can still follow along without knowing the new features first hand.
@@MrDebauch man if you enjoyed legacy, you'll love DE. I played back in 2005 and it's amazing how much work has been put into it. Definitely worth trying out!
@@krispyk277 yeah, I bought legacy again about a year ago since now a days it's on steam.. so I still fire it up here and there. I don't think my video card can handle DE though. While I was thinking about fixing that issue, when DE first came out the bugs had me very concerned... Stuff about erasing your hard drive and a bunch of other issues. I am sure that stuff must have been sorted out.
i think the main issue is the US has one of the slowest build ups as a civ, butt-naked fast fortress is the only hope they got, but only works if the enemy doesn't go for super rush aztec/china deathballs at 6 mins.

Keeping up the aggression in age 2 was a good play but he could have easily gotten a food and gold crate from the consulate and gone age 3 which would have given him more powerful shipments to play with as well or shipped wood to take trading posts, a 2nd rax or otherwise. Nice hold from Aiz though.
What is the best use of US/ French villagers? The US villagers after CDB shipment are not much better than normal vills in melee due to the loss of hand resist. They have 40 more hp. Their ranged attack is 3 more than normal vills (insignificant), less than CDB, but their ranged shot distance is much further. They should be used behind a wall, building or infantry. There speed should be used to run away from melee fights into woods or another niche. Your thoughts?

I don't know if the channel is doing better since the cast started, but i subbed for your personality and the dank Swede playz. These casting vids don't let the Aussie i like(d) to thrive. Is not that i am unsubing or anything like that, i just want to express my opinion as a subscriber since your third video...
The advantage of Aussie commenting on other players' games is that we get to see wacky strategies that none of us mortals would ever think of. Like, I'd never try to use my vills like that to fend a rush but now that I can see just how much a mass of vills can tank in a pinch when you have French Immigrants, that's useful to know in an emergency.
Honestly seeing this Chinese player was dissapointing. I give him credit for getting into top 32, but his build order choice is very lackluster. If he had decided to play Age 2, he could have been so much stronger if he went for one of Basilisk's GFA strategies from your Discord. He could have had 2 german trickles and gotten 1500 ressources from the French Consulate all from GFA+300 export. It would have been a bit slower than his unit shipments, but in the end his army would have been way bigger. Seeing as he didn't even send his unit shipments to forward village, he didn't seem to be very concerned with hitting as fast as possible. He also never used any Export. There is still so much to explore for Age 2 China. Basilisk really inspired me with his GFA builds he posted on your discord. Its was more fun to play China his way, whether or not its Age 2 aggression or his eco play and transition into Age 3. I'm sure if pro players were to study Age 2 China they would come to the same conclusion.
I'd say placing that high with a lacklustre build order is testament to his mechanical skill. A build order is easier to adopt than the skills that got him there.
He spent the export on the musk+cannon when he got up. I generally agree that the trickles are very strong, but if he didn’t keep the USA in check, aiz would have used his age advantage to win pretty quickly.
@@Makofueled agreed 100%. learning a build and mastering it can get you many wins especially if it’s a bit of a cheese build but without that build order learned where does one stand? knowing how to play on the fly, creating your own builds, is true talent or skill. Mastering a build you found someone else doing? cool.
@@Makofueled agreed. The play was 'boring' and not 100% optimized necessarily, but he won the game with an early explorer kill, sprawled map control (from having killed the explorer), and constant pressure. The US player never even got a chance to try to break out.

I played a match today and units were walking straight through native trade posts without getting stuck once! This last patch was awesome

Audio on some of your videos lag on Chromecast. Other channels' videos do not. Why is this? TH-cam gives more bandwidth to higher view videos?

I've had some fun with the villager card age up, basically turn into military, I wish I could attack move with them :( or is there someway to do that?
Nah, it's especially annoying to melee with them since they have no amove or melee mode, even though that's what you'd want to do vs falcs etc
