I think you’re right to focus on getting the motor and battery properly fitted so you can move the car under its own power.
You can then focus on everything else.👍
Changing the suspension links and shocks can be done over a few evenings.

Dang! That looks like the whole kit for suspension. I'll probably do the same on my Miata. The rubber bushings are pretty worn out. Glad you here you have a way to make some space.. :)

Yeah, it escalated from just replacing the shocks to getting every component very quickly. I think the same argument I used to justify the expense on this car also holds true for the Miata, it was designed to handle well:-)

Ha ha, really bumped into that problem with working space. Desided to build my own workshop before buying battery and continue to work on my project. =)

That definitely sounds like the better plan:-)

You ever check out eveurope EVhype 996 complete kit? It says it comes with a converter for the trans. Wouldnt a automatic talk the CPU a lot and not work?
Sometimes I wonder they ever converted any since theres no pics or info really about this kit.

I hadn't really seen much of their work, but I took a deeper look based on your comment. Their stuff looks really neat, there's a lot of good EV work coming out of the Netherlands, but I think that set up is a little too low powered based on my longer term plans. I'm sure the first iteration of the drive train won't have much more than the 90kw their kit has, but the leaf motor is turnable to 2 or 3 time that figure with the right inverter (I'm targeting 220kw as that was the 3.4 996's base power figure.)

Please excuse my ignorance, what is the reason behind the two piece A-arm suspension replacement parts shown. 2 pieces rather than 1, 1 extra bushed joint, to my mind it seems a step down, not up. I am sure being Porsche it is well designed and logical but I don't understand this currently...
    Can anyone explain please
