I went on this in the late 60s when it was new, I was about 3 at the time. My dad was in the military and I'd been born overseas, so this ride for me was my welcome to the USA. What a beautiful way to look at the world and the places you have been!
my neice moved to wyoming from cali and said she missed this ride so thank you for putting this up it made her happy when i played it for her she is almost 5 and has been riding this ride since she was 2
Every time I went to Disneyland this was my favorite ride. Near the end of the night when there were no lines I would ride this until Disneyland would say they were closing. I grew up not far from Disneyland I can't even count how many times I had been there. It's been about 15 years since I have last been there. I wish I lived close enough to go one last time. This is the HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH.
You have made my daughters day. She loves small world. The days when we are home and she wants to go to disney land we show this you tube video. Thanks
I don't care how annoying this song is, every time I go to Disneyland I have to ride it and enjoy it! I looove this song, no matter how many times I hear it while going through the ride! :)
I loved this ride so much when I was a child, because it helped me learn where my ancestors came from which was Italy. Sorry to spoil the magic and fantasy for you and everyone else who was on the ride with you that day when you got it on tape. My dad can't get the song out of his head, because he can't take the pressure of listening to the songs that The Sherman Brothers wrote in the old days. Where did your ancestors come from? How did you like this ride? I've been on it 4 times with my parents and the unknown theme park guests. Lots of nostalgic memories of Disneyland before COVID-19 entered the picture. 👍🏻 if you agree.
Once the melody from that cheerful little yodeler kicks in nice and strong around 6:15 and then the vivacious tambourines and balalaikas jump in shortly thereafter....I'm grinning ear to ear and tapping my toe to the beat while watching this. Thank you for posting this beautiful and well-edited video clip. Ooh-La-La!
iwas at the ny w fair in 1965 ,,,i was 3 ,,,this is the same ride that was at the fair ,,the only thing i rememberd from that day !!!,,i just saw it now a gaian for the first time in 43 yrs it opend a door that was close for so long ,,i remember a lot of what i just saw ,,,THANK YOU whoever put this on you tube ..Gregg west hartford ct
Great video! Went on this cruise back in August 1978; also seen the Disney World (Orlando) version. Disney Land is much more memorable with a lasting impact of the two. Thanks for posting; brings back wonderful memories.
This ride is very magical and keep Disney Theme parks different from others. I like how there are dolls dressed up in different cultural clothing, doing things done in that country, and singing in their native language. Hey, IT'S A SMALL WORLD AFTER ALL!
when i was a kid, i loved this ride--lots to look at, fun music---but now the tune grates on my last nerve. it's nice to see it again, because it is a well-done ride. plus, i used to have a "SMALL WORLD" sheet set when i was young!
I've gone several times to Disneyland and last time I went was in 2007. This ride is so beat up now. It is old and smells old, but it's an all-time classic, IDK why.
this reminds me of my friend! whenever me and my friends sing it, she totally freaks out and starts smacking us and covering her ears! but I love SMALL WORLD! love it!
AAWW ^^ I adored this ride at WDW. It's what calmed me down after Mr. Toad um... didn't go well so it holds a close place for me. The Disneyland one looks so CUTE! It's simpler yet more extravigant at the same time. If THAT makes sense
I was fortunate enough to see this ride with the holiday theme being Christmas. The song was sung with the "jingle bells" song. It didn't seem monotonous nor was it annoying. My family went on it three times. We thought is was the best ride in Disneyland.
Well my whole point for writing was just to say thank-you....I really enjoyed "riding through" in your video. It was a treat....especialy since I just found out that it's being shut down again for more reno's for the next 10 months...and I was actually about to plan another vacation there.
I went on this the summer of 1967. This was close to when it first opened. I still remember this ride. It was favorite. I was 6 at the time. Lady Blue Indianapolis, Indiana
I like this ride. I went to the Tokyo Disney Resort with my husbund yesterday and enjoyed it very much. I have been on this ride for the 4th time yesterday. :)
I was just there a few days ago. I like the ride, but the song will continue to be a rather infectious tune for days to come. No wonder so many either like it or hate it.
Wow! I had no idea the CA and FL versions were so different. This version is incredible. It seems to use the space it was built in much better than the Disney World version, which tends to feel like you're riding through a huge hangar or warehouse with tiny animatronics and props.
I had posted a previous comment, but it apparently got lost somewhere. Thanks for putting this up. I went to the Magic Kingdom for the first time in the summer of '87 with my dad and stepmom, and this was one of the rides we went on. We were stuck in one spot for several minutes, and when we finally got off the ride, people were humming this song. As a result of that, my stepmom now hates this song, and vows to strangle anyone she hears singing or humming it.
That song sticks to your head like gum to your shoe, can't get rid of it easily. Still remember at night at the hotel singing it in my head instead of trying to remember the rest of Disneyland. This ride is poisonous!
My most recent trip to Disneyland was almost a year ago. I was 14 years old. I went on this ride no less than eighteen times, I kid you not. Next time I plan to make it at least twenty.
this may sound lame but thanke you so very much for filming these rides, i used to live near disneyland and went often, now i live in upstate new york and i was dying to see it again. major disney withdrals. Thank you
I went to the Magic Kingdom with my dad and stepmother for the first time the summer that I was ten, and this was one of the rides we went on. We were stuck in one spot for several minutes, just listening to this song, and wehn we got off the ride, people were humming it. As a result of that, my stepmother now hates this song with a passion.
I checked this ride out at Disneyworld when I was 10 years old. That was the ONLY time I went through the ride. I couldn't take the music anymore :) Once was enough.
I still like the mermaids in the original ride. I'm glad we can still come back to the old one whenever we want now! Thanks! Plus my sister likes the zebra and a green horse.
It's a world of Laughter, a world of Tears, It's a world of Hopes and a world of Fears, It's the thoughts that we share And it shows we're aware, It's a small world after all!
lol i remember when i was 6 and we went on this , OMG it was so annoying ! lol . and then my Mum said "lets go on again!!!" and everyone said yeah so we went on again and then the ride broke down right when we got in its was so funny ! i was happy :) now i'm 15 and i love this ride
Thanx for posting this, I live in Canada, and have been to Disney land 6 times.....and only on my first two visits has the ride ever been open, every other time I've gone it's been under reno's....
I took the ride last week on xmas, the 2nd girl on the left at 11:07 was not shaking when we went, so funny!!! I guess she's tired and wanted a rest after all these years LOL I love this ride !!! have to go again!!!
Wow, I guess California is even more multilingual than Florida after hearing the instructions in German and French besides just in Spanish and English. I've only been to Disney World partially because I've been raised in Upstate New York for my entire life so far and it takes two and a half hours to travel by plane from Albany to Orlando, as opposed to traveling from Albany to Los Angeles, which probably takes twice as long.
Awesome!!! We did an episode on Expedition Everest for PipersPicksTV, but we haven't covered WDW's Small World yet! Another one of Piper's favorites! Thanx for sharing! TeamPiper PipersPicksTV
Great video, steady hand and good picture with sound -as better as it could be considering that it was dark inside but still you gave us clear picture! Thank you for posting it! We were not able to go to this ride due to lack of time, so you gave us the chance to enjoy it even if it is by youtube...thanks :-)
The rainforest has been relocated! It now calls the South Pacific (Hawaii, Australia, and the South Seas) room its home where it fits in rather well, I can't wait to see what the ride looks like in the regular ride.
It's been 16 years since I rode this - and the video just brings back all the brain-numbing horror. I'm going to be hearing this tune echoing in my mind for weeks... maybe months. The ride should come with a sanity warning.
Oh my God! This ride has the longest line EVER!!! One time I was stuck in the line for two hours. In the middle of July too. LMAO I was sweating so much that my mom asked me if I peed my pants. XD
this is such a great ride... i always get such a great feeling when i go on it... it's so amazing to think that although we may do different things we all live together... unfortunately i just came back from disneyland and it was closed for repairs... i just hope they don't change it! it's such a great ride!!!
That awkward moment when you realize you can't seem to get this song out of your head is when you realize you've been watching this video too long. Still good, though. Thanks for sharing!
oh god, this is too similar to the opening of willy wonka's factory, when the dolls sing.
Hahaha, I used to be addicted to this ride as a little kid.
I'm still obsessed to this ride. And I didn't expect to see you here! Love your vids btw.
Brandon Rogers OMG Me too
I love this ride alot but I sorta agree XD
Except minus the dolls getting messed up and on fire..

A real standard family ride. It may not be fastest or scarriest, but it's one everyone should go on.

Thanks! I haven't been on this ride in over 20 years, and it brings back a piece of my childhood. I loved it as a kid!
You are welcome

Great vid! My favorite part is the Latin America room but without the Disney characters😀
The change (addition of Disney characters) was a little unusual but I have gotten used to them

Great job on the video of the ride! Haven't been to the Anaheim, California park since April 1996! I'm overdue for another vacation there.
My god.. Been 5 years since I last been there and it's been in my head since I first entered the attraction when I was 4....
It's A Small World After All - there is is stuck in you head again LOL
Absolutley stunning, this is what ive been searching for, this is the ultimate physical embodmient of the human being, i cannot thank you enough...

I like the Dutch puppets popping out of the tulips and the Hula Girl puppets swinging their hips! They make my day!

One of the best nostalgic moments at Disney. Happy 55th Magic Kingdom.

I love Disneyland and this classic ride.
the first small world video on the entire youtube
