Honestly don’t think an impact needs more power than what makita gives. Something like the Milwaukee m18 fuel has tons of power but it is very imprecise and if you use the full power you will be breaking 1/4 inch adapters like crazy. 1/4 inch hex isn’t made for that much torque so you’re better off getting an impact wrench.
Yeah, I use my impact wrench when I want a lot of power. Impact drivers are not meant to be used for lag screws or nuts/bolts, and I don't need an impact wrench with a 1/4" chuck, if you know what I'm saying. That's too much power for something that small. Little job, little gun. Big job, big gun. It's not complicated. Lol
Mf trying to drill with their driver like man this was an example but Alwyas pilot hole a huge ass bolt like that before driving it will save your tool and your time instead of trying to drive that with only a driver
This kit is extremely good, but you have to get Acme Tools to let you review the Makita 40v hammer drill and impact driver combo. I just bought the 40v hammer drill/impact driver combo last Tuesday and received it from Acme Tools last Sunday and it’s even better than the 18v combo. The 40v 2.5Ah batteries imo are lasting longer than the 18v 5.0Ah. I wasn’t really into Makita, but Makita definitely makes some great comfortable tools. I might just sell some of my Dewalt and some of my Milwaukee and replace it with new Makita 40v 👍🏻👍🏻
I have checked for MOISTNESSS... and I can confirm, it was MOIST at approximately 13:36 on this video... should be like #5 now I think? The quality of the content improves every time you continue to meet this challenge, so good job! Edit: excellent effort getting that second mini MOIST in at 14:42, but I’m sorry, we can only count one per video. Good try though on bumping the counter Clint!
Hey Clint you need to get a bag of concrete and a 5 gallon bucket for concrete testing so you don't keep drilling your concrete slab infront of ya door bro @ToolReviewZone
have fun while it lasts. I think all these electronics features will fail in short time. I think these tool companies are planning for this. I own 30 impacts myself mostly paid by my Makita btd140 from 2007 simple light pull trigger & glow in the dark rubber cushion
I'm going to pick up this new kit as well as the new hammer drill and impact driver kit for the 40v as well tool testing coming to my channel soon so excited @ToolReviewZone
I was looking for a good combo and this was an option but got a better price for Milwaukee 2997 combo and comes with a plastic case, I like that stop bar and handle of the Makita tho.
This was pretty good! honesty in comparison is HUGE. for eggzample comparing a 24v system to a 20v system etc. is interesting but if not disclosed or discussed, its DIShonest. The explanation for the civilians about diff between ridgid and Makita was key, apples and oranges so for INformation purposes only etc.
I need another impact/driver combo. If I’m at home it’s at the shop. If I’m at the shop it’s at home - kinda deal 🤦🏻♂️. Was thinking of picking up a flex 24v combo, stay red, or try something else 🤔
I haven't personally tried flex. Some say it's great, some say not so much. The tests that vcg have been doing shows that they are pretty impressive, but I wouldn't switch from Milwaukee if they paid me bro
@@ToolReviewZone Right. Can always go the bare tool route since I have red lithium batteries already. Doesn’t really make sense to start buying another brand. Just wanna try flex myself.
Thanks for the vid! I just picked this set up! On the drill, mine sounds the same as yours when coming off the trigger with no load (not drilling into anything) It sounds like gears grinding like something is very wrong. Any thoughts what's going on here? This happens regardless what mode it's in. Thanks!
I have a different model makita drill, this one but one size smaller, and it has the same thing. My theory is that it is the motor controller is trying to slow down the rotating components by braking, but doing this in a very choppy way, creating the noise. If that's the case it means it's absolutely fine and working as intended. When you release the trigger quickly the sound never occurs, which is why I think this is indeed what is happening.
@@arendmookhoek4314 Thanks! After a few more days I also think it's the electronic brake like you are indicating. Just odd the matching Impact driver in the set doesn't sound the same. Thanks for the feedback!
Hmm…remember my comment one digital selectors a few weeks back- sure looks like you pressed that button like 5 times and it didn’t register. Manual switch ftw! Haha
Good review Clint...what the hell is going on with Makita, I ordered the battery track saw kit in late February and it's not coming until late July. They keep putting the date back. Any idea?
