Epitome of beauty and grace ❤
I remember rafi's song 'akele akele kahan ja rahe ho' play on the radio around 1967 when I was a kid in rourkela. Did not associate it with her. In fact, we were not allowed to see movies. It was 'bad for our eyes' which were developing and maybe for our still developing brains as well, in my mom's view. See it now she was pretty.
my favourite Sharmila Tagore .
What I also recall about Pat is India was trailing 2-0 against clive lloyd's west indies in the 1975 home series, when he was brought back(after last playing against england in 1972, in chennai, scoring 70 plus in a test india won?). Greenidge and Kallicharan scored 100s in bangalore and Roberts and company bowled India out. Maybe Venkat or Bedi was captain. Viv Richards smashed 191 in delhi and india got mauled. Only hemant kanitkar put up any fight. Then Pat was brought back as captain. He said India should prepare turning pitches to help Chandra,Bedi and Prasanna, the spinners. India only had Abid Ali, who bowled gentle medium. Vishy scored a 137(?) in calcutta and 97 n.o and 40 plus(Gaekwad made 70?) in chennai. The runs were enough for india's spinners and the score was even at 2-2. Gavaskar was out with injury. He returned in Wankede(the first test played there) and made runs as did Solkar. Vishy flopped. Lloyd made 242 no after being dropped six times. The match(a decider) was played for six days and the Indians, exhausted, lost the series 3-2. Pataudi retired after that match(at 35?). He barely made runs in that series.
Thanks alottttttttttt for these exclusive interviews great experiences aajbkl kha hi milti h ye sab legends ki interviews so thanks and keepit up
nice ...watching from lahore .....
I’m sure it was well documented that Sharmilaji kept appearing at Tiger’s cricket matches in between her shooting schedules and that would mean it was her chasing him before marriage but then he, too was enamoured by her attention so ultimately it was a mutual attraction between them. But she clearly had a crush on him first.
Pat, although Sharmila describes him as private, wrote a book about his cricketing career in the 1970s. I read it sometime around 1975 when I was in my early teens. He described an incident where Nari Contractor was hit on the head by a Charlie Griffith bouncer and nearly died. They had no helmets in those days. Then Pat said he went up to the crease to bat.He was maybe 22. He also described how he lost an eye and adjusted his batting stance. When we were kids we would say 'wow, he bats and he is the captain with just one eye. he is great'! He seemed unassuming and made no fuss about it in public. In an interview on doordarshan in the 1970s(sharmila and her kid, saif(?) were also there), he talked about the emancipation of women. He appeared to be liberal in his views.
Thank you bro
.my wife is saying you
Although she mentions the apu trilogy(pather panchali) she did not have much of a role, just one of a pretty faced woman in various costumes.
Pat did not think highly of wadekar's technique against fast bowling. Indeed, in clips on youtube, wadekar's batting technique looks ugly, though he was effective(like doug walters and steve smith, both ugly ducklings in their style?) and made runs in 1971.
Boring. Some bong women are beautiful.Crushes mean nothing. When I was 10 I had two crushes, 1 for a pretty married bong woman who had a 3 year old(my dad worked in bengal for 4 years), and the other for a girl in my class who was studious. I even told the bong lady's husband his wife was very pretty(and don't tell her I said that). He said he would tell her, and laughed:-):-). My first sharmila interaction was when I was five.We had an lp.The first song was rafi's 'hai chand sa roshan chehra' from kashmir ki kali. The 'evening in paris' songs played on the radio(songs like 'akele akele kahan ja rahe ho' and 'dekho(4) an evening in paris'). I did not know they were picturized on sharmila. Then when I was maybe 7, aradhana was a huge hit.Even in chennai people played the songs on tape recorders. Chappell's aussies toured in 1969 and I heard about Pataudi. The only time I saw him play, on tv in 1975 in chennai he could not pick up even Bernard Julian's bowling(he bowled a gentle medium pace) and got out. I did follow his 70 odd in 1972 against tony lewis's team on radio. He was out of the indian team by around 1970 because of poor form and politics. Sharmila probably knows why but does not talk candidly about it openly for whatever reason.
Alcohol very boring reason, boring people.
@@Aliya-gh2ec qlcohol??
What is Sharmila Tagore's legacy? Maybe it is her roles in movies like 'evening in paris', 'kashmir ki kali', 'amar prem', 'aradhana' , 'daag' and mausam, and the songs picturized on her in those movies. 'aa gale lag jaa' was a very bad movie, though the songs were good, and the dresses she wore in the movie did not suit her.
Jaya bachchon and sharmila
Very bad with daughter in low
Bad ppl
