Manuel de Falla, Isaac Albénis, Enrique Granados and many other great Spanish composers are not so unsecured, as they don't have the worldwide popularity of many other European composers. I'm not completely sure why, but I believe it has to do with where and how their music was published. After all, they did spent time in Paris socializing and taking pictures with Debussy, Ravel, Stravinsky and others. I believe they mainly published their work in Paris and a couple of other European cities, but their intentions were rather for domestic consumption as part of a nationalist movement of the era. It is a shame that their music have never been part of a music school, or conservatory repertoire. They always have the same composers, just different pieces. I'm happy to see them more often in social media. We can only thank world famous pianist like Alicia de Larrocha, for bringing them to light. I orchestrated Andaluza by Manuel de Falla, but I was less than happy with the results. I took it down. I have not been diligent with uploading the orchestrations. That would explain why My parents, sister, wife and kids; and a few friends are the only subscribers 😅. Worst, they don't even give me a thumbs up. I'm glad to have found your channel.
I'm sure Granados could have put those B flats in himself at the end if he'd wanted (where the high octave Ds are in the RH. I know the score can be inaccurate in places, plus I personally MUCH prefer the G minor chords at the end not to be smudged by the previous bars' dischords, too. Just my opinion, perhaps.
Hmmmmm, pretty damn impressive being able to play this music at all, though personally, I prefer Jean-Francois Hessier's interpretation better, this one seemed a little rushed and mood changes weren't emphasised enough really. =/ Otherwise, bravo!!
I'm not familiar with the person. I know Alicia de Larrocha has been the gold standard of their interpretation. I don't know if being born in Barcelona and studying in Andalusia, where they were from, had something to do with it. 😊
Très belle incarnation poétique et musicale...Merci à vous 😍
Sooo touching ❤ the deepest emotion

Magnifique interprétation.

It's much more clearer than larrocha from structure, I think he is on the right point of freedom.
Rubbish.

Rutilant et complexe.
Not bad, however I believe the interpretation of Rena Kyriakou cannot be surpassed.
You should listen to Alicia de Larrocha. You’ll wet yourself.
