I'm wondering, what is the difference between this version and the old version you made? I detect a clearer sound (less flat) and a few instrument changes. Is that all, or am I missing something fundamental? Great beats btw!
You're right in that the effect essentially is that the whole ensemble sounds clearer, for sure! Bearing the risk of getting a bit technical: I switched to a YM2612 emulator for the bass and made a more crisp slap bass sound, in contrast to the Yamaha DX7 bass I used in the first version. Moved the wooden percussion hits to not play the same time as the snare in one section, to make them stand out more. I also swapped the snare and kick drum for harsher sounds, made the kick mono, raised up some treble sounds, raised the hard-panned kind of rotary bass stabs in the "calm" part and made the organ play a 16th-note echo towards the left in one of the sections. The original is also still up, marked with "(old version)", if you wanna compare them side by side! Same goes for 'March Of The Moa'.
