You have the most beautiful flowers and thank you for your time on your videos. It would be nice to have you talk us through exactly what you are doing step by step and or have words to follow.
You make it look so easy. Guess I should make smaller stitches then I wouldn't have to worry about the strip coming unruffled. That's why I knotted it at the end. A lot of fun even if its a little tedious. :) The best flower I've found for my nieces wedding shower. Thanks.
Thank you for that. We were such good friends and now she doesn't remember that. I am so thankful that she remembers ME, but it's just not the same as when we talked and laughed about all sorts of things.
Thank you for this tutorial. It's very clear and you've made it simple to re-create. The use of the second bit of felt on the back to make it convertible is a super-clever addition.
If you used a wider strip, it may be easier for you to cut the top of the petals, as you would have a wide margin. Also you could make a template out of cardboard to make it easier to mark your petals shape. Beautiful flowers I’m making one tomorrow.
so beautiful n easy to make thanks four your instructions u are very good teacher...i want it to click like to the video but they wont let me lol from 1 to 10 i vote n say 12 plus .i love it....thanks!!!!!!
Oh.. Haha.. My mistake. Maybe i read it wrongly. I tried playing ur video twice earlier n it didnt stream n i saw u comment something abt request so i thought i have to request to watch this video. Anyway i love ur tutorial. Awesome. Im one of ur fan from Singapore.
It's OK. I am glad you like my designs. Usually I have on the table many of my flowers and people ask me about every each of them. This happened with the white flower also, when I was working on a tutorial for the grey flower. And I got requests for the white flower. You can do same. If you like some of the flowers, but not yet on tutorial, please let me know and I'll make one for you. Thank you so much!!!
I just finished making this flower. It looks like one strip the petals are cut shorter? Also how long should the strip be when it is ruffled. Couldn't keep my material from browning when I used the lighter. Is it maybe the material I'm using. Polyester satin.
Same of the satin fabrics are not good for singe. I have experienced that. I never measure how long should be the strip, because I don't cut the thread during the fixing of the flower. Use your judgment how to reach the shape you want. If you pre cut the thread and knot it, you are not free to do that. So, try it again. Hope, my advice will help. Thanks for the comment!!!
Just beautiful! Will have to make one! What is the fabric content? Is satin a type of fabric or can satin be made from polyester, rayon, etc? Want to make sure I use the right fabric for using with a lighter! Just beautiful! And love the versatility to be able to move the flower from a headband to a barrette, could even use with a magnet so you don't have to use a pinback and put holes in your clothes. Absolutely love it!
Glad you like my flower. It's easy to make and quick. You can use your creativity to attach whatever you want. Yes, you can do headband,- please check our video for headband or the tutorial for bobby pin, it could help. Can be attached barrette, pin, comb, etc. The fabric I used is satin, but very light. The best fabric for this flower is polyester. Thank you so much for the comment!!!
Mary Mangano Welcome! I used strip from old dress. You can make a flower from any fabric. Just take 1 yard x 1.5 " or 1 yard x 2" for bigger flower. Thank you for your comment!!!
I love your videos, I have a 15 birthday and I need to do some fabric flowers. What kind a flower you recommend, I need little and big flowers. I hope you can help me, something easy to do.
Valerie Centeno Glad you like my flowers. This flower is the easiest flower to do. You can do biger or small- depends of the fabric you have. Make two strips(one 1 meter x 5 cm and one 1/2 meter, but 3 sm) of recylcled fabric and practice first. Hope, it helps. Thank you so much for the comment!!!
Your flower is absolutely beautiful, and your video is very easy to follow. The only quiestion I have is what is the length of the strips after gathering?
May forgot to ask on my last post what is the width of both fabric strips as I see one is larger than the other. Thank you for posting the length of the strips in the previous comments.
The strips are app. 1 yard ( app. 1 meter) of satin fabric. I used recycled fabric for this video. If you need more puffy flower, you can use 1.5 yard (app. 1 1/4 meter). Thanks for asking!!!
Nice video. Is there certain kinds of fabrics that you use? I saw in the description box fabric scrap strips. What fabrics work better? Polyester? Etc?
This is so beautifull.. I'll try to make some tomorrow. I only have one question... the satin you have used is silk satin or some kind of sinthetic fabric? Does the fire step works better in which kind of satin, can you tell me? Once more, your flowers are so pretty, I have watched your tutorials several times. Thanks so much for sharing!!! Kind regards from Brazil.
Love your comment! The satin fabric here is recycle strip - it is beautiful. It's kind of satin polyester and no thick. Only polyester is good for lighter. Natural fabrics and nylon can make fire. Be careful, please. If you have more questions, please contact me. Thank you very much!!!
It's easy- any fabric is good except natural - cotton, etc., nylon, which is melted or could be fire. I did with 1 yard fabric, but could be more. Depends what you want- smaller or larger flower. This is 1.5" wide. Thank you!
HI There, I was wondering if you could tell me the width of both strips. You mention that the width is 1.5" but they both look like different widths. If you could let me know that would be great. I am going to attempt making the flower for my bridal sash.
The video tutorial show how I make flower out of strip 1.5" width. This is same flower- front picture and the flower on the tutorial. But you can make flower- larger and bigger. For example- 2" width and 1.5 yard length. Or smaller- 1.5" x 0.5 yard. It's better to practice on recycled fabric. Thank you so much for the comment! Appreciate it.
The flower you make is very pretty. But either adding some titles to describe what you are doing, how you are planning ahead, would be helpful. Like "for a flower x inches across, you should make your lengths y inches "
This is satin, but you can use any fabric strip in any inches long and wide. Here is 24"x1.5". Natural fabrics and nylon can not be treated with lighter or candle, they could make fire easy. Thank you!
Photohispana Esquivel Thank you so much for your comment! Glad you like it. The brooches I have some and I made myself. I use them to make another item. You can see it in our blog.
daisyclub23 Any types of fabric, but not thick ones. The natural fabric- such as silk, cotton, burlap, etc. can't be threated with lighter or candle. They have to be cut by the bias(optional). Thank you for watching!!!
