assuming he means he expected something like a genre/beat/tempo change as is typical in kpop but it didn't which was surprising and refreshing.... i think..
Ay-yo, I think they summarized my thoughts so nicely: it’s a satisfying meal. 🍽️ I love most of the 127 title tracks but this is my favorite in a long time because it has the B-side structure with the title track flair and polish. 💚
The beat of ay-yo reminds me of get your freak on by Missy Elliott! Idk if that's the song Kevin's looking for but that's what I thought hearing the song lol
Wow, glad I was bored and checked TH-cam just now. You guys have put into words (more or less haha) what I felt about this song, so thank you. It just captivated me and I didn’t know why. Their music engages me because I think it keeps surprising my ear, and this song just hit different for some reason.
Thank you because I spent a week explaining to my husband that this song is interesting and well-structured. And he disagreed with me. So I was waiting for your analysis on this track to prove that he was wrong. And his opinion was only his musical taste. Owen's quote about the unexpected stuff was what I felt when I first listened to Ay-yo.
Admittedly AY-YO isn’t my personal favorite title track, but what I do love about it, in typical 127 fashion for me there’s still just something so mesmerizing about how it’s balanced and put together as a song (like Kevin was saying “theoretically”) and then executed by 127 themselves. they love performing this piece and I think watching them have so much fun is why I still have grown to enjoy it in a different way! love what they were saying about body + energy at the end, both for bsides and title tracks! definitely resonated with something in my brain
Great reaction and discussion. Owen explained the 5 to 4 very clearly, and Kevin got the ability of the scope of the song to reach people - heck, its become PDs favourite ever NCT127 title track!! Umu - please make sure Kevin knows about Kenzie!!!
9:24 Kevin in the middle of saying every single thing I've thought about this historic title track..."Ay-Yo" had BETTER not get the "Superhuman" treatment as an also incredible song in the trenches for some reason
I like the discussion about space! The original demo has even more space in it because it doesn’t have the chorus, and I think that also was a masterful use of space.
My favorite react duo 🙌 Always appreciate Kevin and Owen’s thought process and comments. Ay-Yo made me think of a SHINee song at some points but I don’t think that is what Kevin was trying to recall
8:25 Why do it remind me with this iconic line "I feel like the possibility of all those possibilities being possible is just another possibility that can possibly happen" - Mark Lee 2019 -
thanks for the great reaction as always! one thing, dem jointz did not produce 2 baddies. he produced ay yo, time lapse, designer, and skyscraper all on this repackage!
That's because one of the producers of Ay-yo, Kenzie, was also the producer behind Punch! He also produced Limitless and Non-Stop (the Punch b-side track), amongst dozens of other Kpop legendary tracks!
Kenzie is a woman, a fact I’m especially proud of. As a songwriter and producer she’s often responsible for providing Korean lyrics to the English language songs that are submitted. The combination of Korean and English is the backbone of kpop, and I really love what she does.
what they said about this sounding like a b-side is interesting because one of the new b-sides "skyscraper" feels like it COULD'VE been the title track🤔. both are great but i love skyscraper even more
Love nct reactions ! You guys should react to wayv's comeback "phantom", the title track has a phantom of the opera concept with strings in the music and their b-side "try my luck" samples Mozart requiem dies irae !!!
Kevin, I'm not sure if that's what reminds you of (probably not, since you mentioned 90's rap) but the "are you reaAaAaAdy?" line reminds me of Kings of Leon's Beach Side (by the end of the song when they sing "even when you're on the run" part). It's not THAAAT similar, but somehow it really reminded me of that when I listened to Ay-Yo for the first time.
The song has been stuck in my head, and it is because it has similar chords to it. It's on again by Alicia Keys I was playing the two on violin to figure it out. It felt like tinnitus in my mind
I know im late to this but i really want to know what Kevin's reaction to Time Lapse would be. Probably my favorite song on the album produced by the same people!
i almost expected the unexpected to be followed up by something different, different than i expected. but they kept the same unexpected, which is unexpected to me.
The storm of paradigm... Literally ERROR 404 NOT FOUND. My brain fell out during that..... HAHAHAHAHAHA! But the song is a BOP and a BIG nod to Black History Month!!!
To Kevin. The beat reminds me of the original version of Mic Drop. I'm not saying they nicked it or anything. I think it has a pretty natural progression, so it’d be easy to come up with completely separately. What they did with it though is waaaaay different. I love the song for alle the reasons you mentioned. Thanks, as always, for putting into words what we’re hearing and feeling.
i'm cracking up at the girl voice in the beginning being like "so you guys are now reacting to NCT one twenty seven" 😂😂 but anw thanks for the video as always it was really interesting 👍👍
Kevin keeps saying that the beat reminds him of something he can't remember. So, this beat is from the brazillian funk producers Tropkillaz, that's why it sounds like something hip hop-ish, but kinda different, because its a funk beat. Lalisa from LISA and Back for More from TXT also use their beats, and ETA from newjeans also uses a brazillian funk beat. :)
owen's quite is very reminiscent of mark's "the possibility of all those possibilities being possible is just another possibility that can possibly happen"... ah very 127 indeed...
'Ay-Yo' NCT 127 - одна из моих самых любимых песен. Спасибо за реакцию с музыкальным разбором, мне это очень интересно. Я обожаю ReacttotheK за особое внимание к NCT. Спасибо, спасибо, спасибо!
Kevin, you said it reminds you of a hip hop song. For some reason it reminds me of Mobb Deep's "Quiet Storm." it's not the same thing at all. But I just can't put my finger on exactly what it is that I hear that makes me think of that song. Maybe it's a chord thing, I'm not sure. I'm not a musician, so I could just be trippin'.
I think the instrumentals in the intro sound similar to some DMX songs (maybe Ruff Riders Anthem), but that's just me, tell me if that was who you're thinking of Kevin. Also look at me aging myself right now 🤣
“The Ring” is really interesting sonically, but if you listen to it and “Ay Yo” back to back the combination of singing, rapping, and beats on “Ay Yo” sound more unique in my opinion. Actually, the influence of Brazilian duo Tropkillaz on “Ay Yo” is more noticable if you do (at least to me).
i'm also trying really hard to figure out what the synth and first verse of the chorus remind me of. i can't put my finger to it, but i think it's a pop song from around the justin timberlake era? if someone could help i'd be forever thankful
Full crew reaction to DJ is in the making!
🎊🫰🎉
YES. I absolutely love Ay-yo but I'm admittedly more curious about what the musicians think of DJ. Thank you!
Great news to meeee 😚
THANK YOU!!!!
You guys should reacting to skyscraper too
owen at 8:23 🤝 mark's "i feel like the possibility of all those possibilities being possible is just another possibility that can possibly happen" 😭
THIS IS THE COMMENT I WAS LOOKING FOR! My first thought was Mark’s iconic quote 🤣
I was about to write this lmao, Owen has been Markified🤣
😂😂
I WAS THINKING THE SAME OML
I half expected that clip to be played a second later
“I understand him, but he’s being very confusing about it”- Owen’s reaction to 8:23
^ Me re-watching this entire Ay-Yo reaction
Also "ReattotheK" to add onto the confusion 🙃
It’s giving Mark’s possibilities speech😅 lol
assuming he means he expected something like a genre/beat/tempo change as is typical in kpop but it didn't which was surprising and refreshing.... i think..
Please react to Dreamcatcher's REASON 🙏🙏❤️ please do
Umu It's actually one-two-seven, not one-twenty-seven.
I love how 127 has their own sound! Ever since their debut they've had a sound that sets them apart from other groups and even other NCT units.
That's why i love nct..
that’s so funny bc ty said he didn’t think this song sounded neo at all but i agree w you
You are literally the best. NCT 127 always slaps
Ay-yo, I think they summarized my thoughts so nicely: it’s a satisfying meal. 🍽️ I love most of the 127 title tracks but this is my favorite in a long time because it has the B-side structure with the title track flair and polish. 💚
i haven´t watched the video yet, but i wanna say that my man owen always GETS it
me but also including kevin
The beat of ay-yo reminds me of get your freak on by Missy Elliott! Idk if that's the song Kevin's looking for but that's what I thought hearing the song lol
It gave me Missy vibes
omg totally
YES omg just what i was thinking of
Owen "expected the unexpected" feels like Mark "possibilities being possible" (≧∇≦)/
Wow, glad I was bored and checked TH-cam just now. You guys have put into words (more or less haha) what I felt about this song, so thank you. It just captivated me and I didn’t know why. Their music engages me because I think it keeps surprising my ear, and this song just hit different for some reason.
Same
Thank you because I spent a week explaining to my husband that this song is interesting and well-structured. And he disagreed with me. So I was waiting for your analysis on this track to prove that he was wrong. And his opinion was only his musical taste.
Owen's quote about the unexpected stuff was what I felt when I first listened to Ay-yo.
ay-yo is one of my favorite nct 127 title tracks, i just loved the song so much
they should listen to skyscraper!!!!!!!! it blew my mind
up!
up!
Yesss
UUUPPP
Owen giving Mark Lee "The possibility of all those possibilities being possible..." vibes
8:28 ngl this was very Mark Lee of you, Owen 😂😂
That beat is so typical Tropkillaz. Brazil represents!!!
Sim!
Superhuman is such a delight to listen to. These guys rarely miss!
I like the discussion about space! The original demo has even more space in it because it doesn’t have the chorus, and I think that also was a masterful use of space.
My favorite react duo 🙌 Always appreciate Kevin and Owen’s thought process and comments. Ay-Yo made me think of a SHINee song at some points but I don’t think that is what Kevin was trying to recall
the "ay-yo!" bit in the chorus kinda sounds like don't call me... the backtrack gives step back (GOT the beat) as well
@@charlottem6306Oooh Don't Call Me
I love Owen's comments, he's always so clever! You guys will probably have fun checking out 'Phantom' (and 'Try My Luck') by WayV.
nct 127 never fail to impress me
nct127 songs are always satisfying after repeated listening
8:25 Why do it remind me with this iconic line
"I feel like the possibility of all those possibilities being possible is just another possibility that can possibly happen"
- Mark Lee 2019 -
I loved this song so much ❤️❤️
Same😭
they're a great duo!!! kevin gets owen even when he goes unexpected lol
thanks for the great reaction as always! one thing, dem jointz did not produce 2 baddies. he produced ay yo, time lapse, designer, and skyscraper all on this repackage!
Ay-yo sounds a little similar to Punch that NCT127 did as well!
That's because one of the producers of Ay-yo, Kenzie, was also the producer behind Punch!
He also produced Limitless and Non-Stop (the Punch b-side track), amongst dozens of other Kpop legendary tracks!
@@MyHeartIsOhMyGod i know, that’s why I like it sm😭💕 another hit produced by dem jointz!
Kenzie is a woman, a fact I’m especially proud of. As a songwriter and producer she’s often responsible for providing Korean lyrics to the English language songs that are submitted. The combination of Korean and English is the backbone of kpop, and I really love what she does.
what they said about this sounding like a b-side is interesting because one of the new b-sides "skyscraper" feels like it COULD'VE been the title track🤔. both are great but i love skyscraper even more
this song reminds me a lot of shinee - don't call me, feels like ay-yo is a chill child from dramatic mother
Owen's talk about the unexpected is giving Mark Lee and possibilities
Love nct reactions ! You guys should react to wayv's comeback "phantom", the title track has a phantom of the opera concept with strings in the music and their b-side "try my luck" samples Mozart requiem dies irae !!!
Phantom is on their Patreon i think!
Kevin, I'm not sure if that's what reminds you of (probably not, since you mentioned 90's rap) but the "are you reaAaAaAdy?" line reminds me of Kings of Leon's Beach Side (by the end of the song when they sing "even when you're on the run" part). as a Mark-bias NCT fan and an Owen-bias RTK fan this video made me realize I have a type LOL
The song has been stuck in my head, and it is because it has similar chords to it. It's on again by Alicia Keys I was playing the two on violin to figure it out. It felt like tinnitus in my mind
Owen sounding a bit like Mark Lee with that "expected" train of thought.
literally 😭😭🤣
I know im late to this but i really want to know what Kevin's reaction to Time Lapse would be. Probably my favorite song on the album produced by the same people!
One of my favorite 127 title tracks. This repackage was just epic.
It's your reaction I am anticipating for each time NCT 127 drops a track!
We appreciate your effort and hard work. God bless you.
Oh it is indeed an A side Song. I cant stop listening to it every day
“that was fantaaaaastic” literally me after i listened to ay-yo for the first time
Now I want a really good Tuscan meal with great bread....
Thanks for always making me think and enjoy things anew xx
As soon as I heard this song I've been WAAAAIIITING for you to post a video
i almost expected the unexpected to be followed up by something different, different than i expected. but they kept the same unexpected, which is unexpected to me.
the "meal" part hahahah they are unintentionally funny
i love it! 💚
The storm of paradigm... Literally ERROR 404 NOT FOUND. My brain fell out during that..... HAHAHAHAHAHA! But the song is a BOP and a BIG nod to Black History Month!!!

It's so strange when hearing pp call them one twenty seven 😂
dont you just love it when the nerds be nerding
The Chronic, sound elements.
I was waiting for this!! Thank you!! 🥹
Yesss I was hoping for this one to make it
As a Kevin stan I thank you for this video

Guys I appreciate this video so much for real
love these super detailed breakdowns a lot!
Can we get Owen's unexpected quote on a t-shirt, or refrigerator magnet, maybe a bumper sticker?
Omg thanks for reaction
YESSS FINALLY 💚💚💚 pleeease you should also listen to skyscraper and DJ!! both are bangers
Sounds like Kevin is talking about DMX
omg thank you for this!!
Idk, but I wish you react to Skyscraper too aaahh
Kevin keeps saying that the beat reminds him of something he can't remember. 8:27 reminds me of marks possibilities of all those possibility being possible....
Aaa
owen's quite is very reminiscent of mark's "the possibility of all those possibilities being possible is just another possibility that can possibly happen"... ah very 127 indeed...
'Ay-Yo' NCT 127 - одна из моих самых любимых песен. Спасибо за реакцию с музыкальным разбором, мне это очень интересно. Я обожаю ReacttotheK за особое внимание к NCT. Спасибо, спасибо, спасибо!
i remembered the "possibilities" thing 🤣🤣
Kevin, you said it reminds you of a hip hop song. For some reason it reminds me of Mobb Deep's "Quiet Storm." it's not the same thing at all. I not sure if is the same as what Kevin was trying to remember, but Six Days the remix by DJ Shadow has the same drum beat.
omg yessss thank you for reacting to this song 😭
This morning I was like you guys have to react to Ayyo 😭 then this came out
Owen directing Kevin on what to play at 7:03 was hilarious. 😄
"Can you play....?
"Sure...."
"Wait, it's...."
The chorus reminds me of Empire State of Mind by Jay Z 5:37
the synths give me early kanye vibes
I think the instrumentals in the intro sound similar to some DMX songs (maybe Ruff Riders Anthem), but that's just me, tell me if that was who you're thinking of Kevin. Also look at me aging myself right now 🤣
you should react to skyscraper as well! it's a well executed song
Loved the video!! pls next make them react to DPR IAN - So Beautiful, they will be amazed by the visuals and the song itself is just soooo good!!!
Jaehyun Ay-yo scene... "I don't have a brain today."
i don’t think Dem Jointz worked on 2 Baddies 😊 he worked on a few bsides from the album tho
This song is 🔥🔥🔥.
If you want to hear crazy modulations y'all need to react to the Ring by Ateez
“The Ring” is really interesting sonically, but if you listen to it and “Ay Yo” back to back the combination of singing, rapping, and beats on “Ay Yo” sound more unique in my opinion. Actually, the influence of Brazilian duo Tropkillaz on “Ay Yo” is more noticable if you do (at least to me).
the conclusion is nct 127 ATE
Yes. Absolutely.
Are you describing Enter the Wu-Tang (maybe Clan in Da Front / Shame on a N****a)?
I agree! It's a _'meal'_!
Thank you for reaction nct 127💚🥰
Thks for reaction 127
Recuerden que alguien en Perú los sigue y los quiere 🫶🏼
i'm also trying really hard to figure out what the synth and first verse of the chorus remind me of. i can't put my finger to it, but i think it's a pop song from around the justin timberlake era? if someone could help i'd be forever thankful
like whatever is going on during this part
그냥 불러 봐 "Ay-Yo!"
우리처럼 놀아 여기가 Valhalla
nah, it's most likely from old school hip hop influence. like very early JayZ/ Nas/ Biggie
you guys should react to wayv's phantom ^^
I’m waiting for HALAZIA reaction so bad((((
That "one twenty seven" in the beginning though. 💀
you must react to Purple Kiss "Sweet Juice", I need listen to you talking about how amazing the song is XD
