Nmixx where the first girl group to sing at tiny desk Korea and they where the first group to meet all the requirements. The microphone NMIXX used for the recording is an uncorrected microphone. So no pitch correction which is extremely rare in kpop live singers and they sang without any in ears so completely raw vocals!!! They also changed the notes of the songs which shows their musicality they are honestly trailblazers in the industry and setting the standards!! 🤩👏🏽
I’m an RV stan but NMIXX is next level! JYP did an amazing job putting these six members together. They are only gonna get better and better over time and two of them are still teenagers.
Just want to let you know the jazz is created just for Tiny Desk. The songs will have a different sound to them when you watch them at some point! They still sound amazing tho. :) Edit: pls check out their Stage Rehearsals! They sing live.
Their deal? Mixxpop! That's what they've been doing for 2 years now, meaning they mix at least two genres in every songs, sometimes even 2 songs in one. Not the best recipe to make popular music but possibly the best to make it interesting. What you're looking at is the most talented group of the 4th generation, and frankly some of us struggle to find one that's close in Kpop history. As a group they might even have more talent than legends like Mamamoo (and I'm a moomoo). The reason why they never entered your radar is because they aren't as popular as other girl groups from the big 3 agencies, but they are from one (JYP). If you are interested in watching more from Nmixx I strongly suggest you start with their stage practices and live performances, Nmixx is known for being live almost all the time (except when they're sick), they genuinely enjoy the stage and singing, so focus on that and you won't be disappointed.
They are BEAST at dancing as well as singing, as well as stage presence. The perfect package of a group, hope you check out some more in a deep dive maybe
NMIXX is one of the best vocal, dance, performance girl group among the 4th generation girl group. They are insane even before they debut( you can check out to their "JYPn Qualifying" video). Also, all of their covering stages (especially Very Nice by Seventeen, Thunderous by Stray Kids) are crazy.

It makes me really sad that people don't pay much attention to NMIXX. Though they do have lots of fans and their talent is pretty well-acknowledged, people still kind of dismiss them or don't pay as much attention because they're 'too experimental'. Their last album FE304: Break, which was released earlier this year, was pretty much a breakthrough for them and is considered an album of the year contender by lots of people, so if you're getting into them, I'd recommend trying that. Like this Tiny Desk concert, it covers a lot of ground in terms of genre, style and themes, so it's a great place to jump in. I'd also really recommend their live performances, and stage practices because I think that's where they get to showcase the true full package that is NMIXX.
See experimental is what I live for. If people think they’re too experimental then… That’s too bad for them and it’s their loss. NMIXX is dope and that all that matters, who cares about what haters say :3 ❤️
PLEASE react to their stage practices and libve performances at concerts, universities, kcon etc. They are one of the few groups who can actually sing AND dance, and do it DAMN WELL. They are so stable its insane. i wonder how long JYP were cooking these guys in their training program. Theyre all phenomenal stable vocalists whether dancing, standing and could be main vocalist in ajy ither group.
Nmixx are insanely talented but definitely not as popular as some of their 4th gen counterparts (perhaps this is why you haven’t heard a lot from them). Their music tends to be a bit more experimental although they do have some tracks that are more straightforward in sound. Personally, I love their style and music. Because of this, some songs require a 2nd or 3rd listen before casting judgement. This is because of the twists and turns one song can take (always expect the unexpected!) One thing you can always expect are amazing vocals ❤ *Yes, Lily is Australian/Korean
I would also say, why not start from the beginning, with the "JYPn Qualifying" video series. Before the band name and members were revealed, the company rolled out a trickle of solo and sub-unit performances, some produced, and some raw. You can get a sense of their individual star power before they were Voltron'd into the group that became known as NMIXX.
Great reaction bro! You need to to see Lily from NMixx on Lee Mujin. She is one of the best vocalists that I've ever heard. Lee Mujin has also invited many other vocalists you should check out as well. Nmixx I just started my journey with them as well.
Nmixx is insane, this is just the tip of the iceberg lol. Whenever you check out a music video of theirs, make sure to react to the stage practice as well. It's a dance practice... with live vocals (ambient audio from the practice room)... absolutely insane. I am not over how talented they are to this day. Lily is Korean-Australian. When she was 12 she appeared on K-Popstar (a famous korean reality show at the time with singers of all ages, which has birthed many famous singers in the industry) and placed 4th overall. She then trained at JYP for 7 years and, since she was already famous from before, she was widely known as the ace in their sleeves so to say. Her vocals are on the level of global singers imo, but the other girls in Nmixx are also right there at the top of kpop currently with her, and they all manage to improve a lot every comeback 😱 I definitely recommend Lily's Finesse - Bruno Mars cover from when she got anounced as a member of the group, her duet with Haewon of Survivor - Destiny's Child also from that time, and her recent Complicated - Avril Lavigne cover!
She (Lily) is mixed lol. Her dad is white/Australian and her mom is Korean. She grew up in Australia as a native english speaker, listening to mostly pop, so not only is her english perfect, but her tone tends to lend to a traditional pop sensibility, I think.
If you want to look more into them, I highly recommend watching the Guide to NMIXX 2024 Edition by solty, it's a great guide. I also recommend looking into their stage practices, they're dance practices while singing live! My favorite stage practice is probably for Love Me Like This :). You also seem to really like harmony and jazzy/rnb stuff, so I highly recommend Big Mama's Killing Voice. They debuted in 2003 as an all-vocal group, no rapping or dancing. They're known for their complex harmonies and rnb style. All of the members are now professors and vocal coaches at various universities in South Korea, earning them the nickname "Professor-dols." One of the members also taught 2 of the members of BTOB (Another group known for their vocals) while they were in college.
My man, I'm lovin' you lovin' NMIXX. If you want more soulful, jazzy vocal blessings for your ears, you've gotta turn back the clock several years and check out 3rd gen group Mamamoo. I always say that for an older generation of American audience raised on Motown, they're probably the best entry point to k-pop, as opposed to what's currently "hip with the youths." Their concert was one of the best I've seen because they're so comfortable and at ease riffing and vocally playing around. Right now it's feeling like NMIXX is heir-apparent to that throne. For that matter, maybe also check out JYP label founder JY Park's (aka Park Jinyoung) own stuff, as he's all about the funk/soul/R&B/disco retro vibes. He and Mamamoo have collaborated a handful of times in the past, like JYP's Party People talk/performance show, the 2019 MAMA Awards, and he and Lily and Haewon were the guests for Mamamoo member Hwasa's first episode of her web talk show.

If you are looking for stuff from them to react to, I personally think you'd love their ~acapella~ highlight medleys. Thats how they promote their EPs
Nmixx is a one way path... you are lost my friend... just like me, haha.
I always recommend nmixx's live performances, because they change and improve the melody and interpretation of their music. I would go to one of their concerts to listen to them and not to see them dance, although they can sing and dance at the same time, they are the best. But obviously they sound better standing with the mic. They are the only kpop group that I would ask not to dance and sing their songs with their maximum interpretation.

Let's start with their "JYPN Qualifying" video series. Can't wait to see your reaction!
Agreed.
yes they can dance really well too and they actually upload the stage practice videos they sing live with raw vocals while dancing strongly this sets apart them from the other groups. also they are promoted as all rounders since the debut
n-mixx is crazy vocalist, all of them, and how to bring out all of them (their capability) is to cover it all. :D (as i think, they need a lot more of their studio version to do that. but also need to think about k-pop market too, which more target in 'in your face' kind of song)
(what they did (music genre) they call 'mix-pop', kind of experimental but also potential to be new-music genre, think about it. (as actually, 'k-pop' is, if consider as pop+hip-hop+rap, and pop already very wide range as disco, funk, rock, etc.))
yes, Haewon is the leader. and yes, and Lily is kind of perfectionist. :D
'nswer' is their fandom name.
'lee mujin service' (another show) might give 'jazzy' vibe too. (if i remember correctly, all of n-mixx members already appear (one by one)) it kind of like 'talk show' and sing some music, so you can see their personality and also their vocal and singing style.

I only need Nmixx, SB19 and G22. Thats it.
Bcoz nmixx is high tier music and unfortunately kpop fans prefer surface level music and they cant enjoy complex music and lyrics and thats nmixx
I can't focus on your reaction cuz I keep looking at you damn lashes. I'm jealous.
Love your reaction. If you like some live vocal performance maybe you can check some "Killing Voice"s that you haven't seen yet
My recommendation for Soloist "Ben", "Hynn", and "Lee Hi"
And for groups "Big Mama", BTOB" and "Red Velvet"
Thank You 👋👋👋
