The programme was hosted by Holly Willoughby, and featured a host of other performers and acted as a lead-in to the final episode of the sixth series of The X Factor.
In this part of the show, Cheryl performs a song Parachute live from new solo record 3 Words, with Derek Hough, who is a top dancer in Dancing With The Stars, which is a US version of the UK hit-dance show Strictly.
I don't care if she can sing live or not - when you see her dancing like this on stage it's electric! Too many pop singers simply cannot dance, they can sing in tune but do not feel the music running through their veins. Cheryl does, it's captivating to watch. I would love to see her continue to experiment with different forms of dance, dance is her forte.

I agree with you. Kylie Minogue used to sing live and dance at the same time when she was younger, but that is totally difficult, she actually only sings and dances a little. I don't doubt that Cheryl can sing live well, actually she does, but someday she will have to focus on singing because she is a singer, besides when a singer tours around the world it is important that the singer sings live. I love this song as well as Cheryl's music.
Well I have to say that I don't know Cheryl's songs ... I really like this one, then I discovered this great choreography... I'm really fond of dance .. I used to dance when I was on my twenties and now I'm a crazy zumba dancer... bye bye

Great choreo...I so enjoyed the whole performance. While many see "chemistry" btwn Derek Hough & Cheryl Cole, I see the way he is w/all of his partners on US Dancing With the Stars, meaning he is in character for what the performance calls for . He's that good, never min hot, great singer, dancer, musician, etc. Oh & Cheryl IS beautiful. I believe he cares about her, they WERE together, but not right for each other.

This was the BEST PERFORMANCE I've ever seen Derek in. He just oozed with passion around this woman. I hope she realizes he is the type she can trust implicitly, and how lucky she was to meet this young man! Of course, when she realizes that it was her judgment that was wrong with her ex-, she will understand much more about herself. She is the MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN Derek has ever been around, imho, and sweet, too.

@GAILH2435 No need to apologize. I am a fan of Derek's from the US and I did not know of Cheryl Cole before he choreographed this live routine and her video for Parachute. Derek is an incredibly talented individual and his abilities are recognized in the US and abroad. He's recently been nominated for 2 Emmy Awards for his choreography on DWTS. She's more known in London but he's the one who's known in the US. I think they compliment each other and I wish them well. Hope she feels better soon!

I've heard the name Cheryl Cole for the longest time as being attached to Derek Hough; but this is the first time I've actually seen her perform. Wow. The lady can actually sing - and dance - and perform. And what great choreography! Ever since Michael Jackson's Thriller, dancers have intruded upon the singer (or covered up a singer's lack of talent). Not here. This live performance was flawless. I think I might be a fan.

This is the HOTTEST VIDEO PERIOD BAR-NONE.....the chemistry between these two is UNDENIABLE, and what a turn-on it is to see it. He just is SO DIFFERENT with Cheryl than with any of his DWTS partners. Especially, I see NO chemistry zip, nada between him & the 50 year old partner Grey, but then, she's like his mother, yu know? LOL. I wd hv wanted an older dance partner if I'd been Jennifer Grey....for sure.

I would really like to hear her sing acapella or live. I am not disrespecting her though because she is beautiful, a good dancer and her voice (albeit pre-recorded) is nice. I wish I had half the talent she does.
This is the best dance that I've ever seen. I know people who do this kind of dancing and they might as well be bricks compared to this! They move so gracefully and the whole dance flows in time with the song perfectly :)

Not all of it. The beginning was live, but once the dancing became more involved it was a track. That being said, Cheryl herself always says that she uses a backing track since it would be impossible to dance that much and still sing without losing breath.

It so fascinating to watch this, to study it, to see the costuming, the choreography, the linkage between the lyrics of the song with the movements of the dancers, the subtle subtext of the relationship between Cheryl Cole and Derek Hough - how that connects to the theme of the song. This is soooo well done. Just curious. How big of a hit was this song in the U.K.?
No very big. I like it, but it didn't do very well if I remember rightly.

I read somewhere that will.i.am said she would be huge in the US and that American music fans would love her. I hear about her all the time, but not so much about her music. IMO, the only thing special about this performance is Derek's gorgeous choreography. She has a pretty voice, but to be honest, you got to be unique and have very catchy, radio-friendly songs to succeed in the US market. Does Cheryl bring that?

Beautiful dancing - ppl who are criticising her dancing clearly have no rhythm! She has that elusive grace of a ballerina that the other Girls Aloud singers lack...when you watch them live, Cheryl is always in the centre to detract from the other girls' terrible dancing! (I hope Cheryl gets it on with Derek - he seems like a nice chap).
