The adjustable bridge is awesome! I especially love the dead pingy sound of the vintage one.

Het nadeel van jullie video's is je wordt er zo hebberig van. (lol)
Zonder gekheid. De beste zaak als het gaat om gitaren en toevallig ook nog binnen bereik.
Ga zo door wat jullie doen is geweldig.
    Groet,
    David

Greg Lake's favorite guitar. Lake owned 6 or 7 Gibson J-200s and even recorded Emerson Lake and Palmer's iconic 'From the Beginning' with a J-200.

Very valid comments about fingerpicking, large Gibson's always tend to sound really good fingerpicking, it's not just strumming and yes there is a difference maybe in sound to some of the smaller guitars but iit is still a great sound and maybe it's the extra depth that to my mind adds to it. Maybe I'm biased I do like Gibson's and Bozeman are producing some wonderful guitars these days

To me the new J200 sounds clearer with more highs. Surely one point is that it's scalloped.. Reminds me of the differences u hear in other comparisons between scalloped & non-scalloped identical models.. The vintage j200 to me has a nice dark & smooth sound.. now after all those years. Think it would sound like a cheap copy of the recent one if it was also new now :) ..Anyways would choose the vintage.. not possible to recreate vintage vibe in general & should stay like that.

mooi werk! Jullie hebben volgens mij een unieke situatie in de youtube wereld... een geweldige setting, geweldige gitaren, en geweldige (spontaan - nederlandse) mensen. Kunnen jullie ver mee komen! Ander business model 😁

Great video guys. Any chance you could demo the new 1936 Advanced Jumbo reissue?

introvideootje met drone-video-pan-zoom op de locatie aan het begin van elke video voor wat herkenbaarheid? Kan niemand aan tippen 😁

Nice video! Would prefer the vintage SJ200 with the Rosewood specs, but in this comparison I prefer the modern. Next video 70's Martin D 12 28 to the modern HD 12 28 Cheers.

      I'm afraid they're both sold already, how about a '66 D18 vs a new D18? ;)

      @@thefellowshipofacoustics - Sure, sounds good. Or a D 28 vs HD 28. Cheers!

The adjustable saddle SJ-200s get so much hate in the collector community yet they made it on to many classic recordings. Jimmy Page used one on the first Led Zeppelin album. George Harrison on the later Beatles albums. Bob Dylan on Nashville Skyline (reportedly Harrison’s guitar) and Pete Townsend used it on Tommy and just about everything he recorded in the 70s. I’m not saying they sound better than the fixed bridge models but they certainly don’t deserve the hate they get.

Surprisingly, the vintage sounded better despite the saddle.

Surprise to who? Did you honestly believe the new SJ200 would sound better?
