『茨城県伝統工芸品』として認定されている中に【線香】があります。この伝統工芸品である線香を製造していらっしゃるのは、県内で石岡市八郷地区にある【駒村清明堂】【株式会社ニックン紫山堂】の2軒のみ。
昔からの製造技術・技法の研鑽を積まれ、高度な技術を守り、従業意欲と技術の向上・伝統工芸品の次代への継承を目的として認定された『茨城県伝統工芸士』が在籍しており、メインの【杉線香】をはじめ、香りや煙の量などに変化を持たせた商品など、時代のニーズに合わせた線香の製造に励まれています。
長い時間をかけてしっかり乾燥させた杉の葉を、筑波山から流れる川の水を利用した水車を廻し、挽いて、粉にし、杉の枝を使い湯を沸かし練り上げる、先人から受け継いだ手仕事を愚直に守り精進される【駒村清明堂】。
杉の葉の粉末と繋ぎの役目のあるタブの木の粉末を混ぜ、水を加えて練り、商品に応じて染料を加え、最適な柔らかさに練り上げる品質を大きく左右する昔からの技法は守りながら、少しでも多くのお客様に商品をお届けできるようにと、材料を押し出す工程から包装の工程までを設備化し、伝統工芸品の新しい形にチャレンジする【株式会社ニックン紫山堂】。

Incense sticks are one of the products recognized as "Ibaraki Prefecture Traditional Crafts". There are only two companies in the prefecture that produce incense sticks, Komamura Seimeido and Nikkun Shizando, located in the Yasato district of Ishioka City.
They are certified as "Ibaraki traditional craftsmen" for the purpose of studying traditional manufacturing techniques and skills, preserving advanced techniques, improving employee motivation and skills, and passing on traditional crafts to the next generation. They are working hard to produce incense sticks that meet the needs of the times.
Komamura Seimeido is devoted to the handiwork inherited from its predecessors, which consists of grinding cedar leaves, which have been dried for a long time, into powder by turning a water wheel that uses water from the river flowing from Mt.
Komamura Seimeido has been devoted to preserving the traditional technique of mixing the powder of cedar leaves with the powder of tabu trees, which serves as a binding agent, adding water, kneading, adding dye according to the product, and kneading to the optimum softness, which greatly affects the quality. Ltd. is taking on the challenge of creating a new form of traditional handicrafts.
