All segments with Amy Weber, of course! PLS try reaching out to Nidia or Ivory (maybe both since they trained together lol) and I know Ivory lives off an island in Washington iirc? but still, I'd fall off my perch if I saw her on your show. For some reason I imagine her wearing the RTC gear while you wear her dark purple two piece with the hole cut in the middle of the top, and she's trying to force you to cover up lmao
Everytime Joy appeared, she really embodied her name: she was a JOY to be with. Such a shame they cut her when she was getting into her element already
Can we just appreciate Ds and all his efforts to give these Divas who wwe rarely acknowledges like Christy, Cherry and now Joy! This is seriously the best womens wrestling channel 💛
Seriously! This interview just opened up an entire perspective on how WWE ran the Women’s division. Keeping Diva’s search intentionally away from the Women’s roster sounds like the perfect way to piss of some women’s egos. The entire “not having kids” is also eye opening, and makes me realize why Trish was smart to leave at the top, because she probably wanted to have her life back without saying it. Definitely had to play a small part in the company transitioning to PG in the lates 2000’s.
My heart breaks thinking we’ll never get an interview like this with Ashley Massaro 💔 Thanks so much DS for this golden content. It feels like every time we get one of these it feels like closure for the diva eras.
This is why I'm glad Joy got out of wrestling, before it tore her body and her life apart. Most people don't realize that the longer you stay in the business, the harder it is to get out of it. That's why you still see Ric Flair trying to wrestle at 74 years old, even though he should've retired a long time ago.
I know it isn't much but there was an episode of Raw Afterbuzz TV where Melina, Jillian, Ashley and Maria were all on together and Ashley talked a good bit about her time there. So there's a little bit of insight for any of her fans who'd like to know more.
This was such a treat. I didn’t watch her during her era but I knew of her because of Smackdown Vs Raw 2006. From the outfit to the theme song. She gave me lifeee. She’s such a humble person and even though she isn’t ready to receive the word iconic. She IS and WILL forever be that. Not many woman can make a mark like how she did. WWE missed an opportunity with her
Same! I got the SmackDown vs. Raw 2006 game for Christmas 2005 and she was already gone once I started watching the shows that week. A lot of wrestlers in the game were gone by the time the game came out which was very confusing to me at 9.
It just goes to show that securing a spot in one of those games is invaluable, that really helped solidify her even though she wasn’t there long. She absolutely had more potential
I remember Joy from Smackdown in late 2004 and early 05, but hadn't seen her for years until social media. The last segment I remember was the wrestling match that she was in, against Amy Weber that never happened.
“Carmella, you talk a lotta sh*t. Look at you, you got a gap so wide, you could drive a truck right through there, baby!” One of the most iconic lines ever. Love Joy! ❤️
One of the most iconic interviews of all time DS. Joy is so naturally likeable, and she seemed so comfortable to talk about everything despite her not having really talked about her time in wrestling much. Thank you for bringing this to us!
Aw this is an actually great interview, thanks to both of you for doing it! Wish Joy the best, she seems super nice and smart! she def made a mark in WWE for those of us who were fans at the time
She had so much potential. WWE was and probably still is such an immature, toxic, trash workplace. After the stories I've heard there are times I don't even know why I support them as a company. Great interview.
I will agree it took a long time for the most part for changes to occur certain people either had to mature or flat out not be in the company anymore. It's still not great but it does seem different than when Joy was in the company.
Joy has such a vibrant personality and great sense of humor! Getting to reminisce about the Divas Search takes me back to the glory days of Smack-Down and Raw. Would love to see her make an appearance or cameo ❤️
That wrestlemania return so hillarious😂 When she said the truth like *_"hey its me, i'm free right now can i join it?"_* i was like wth😂, it was so funny how easy that was to making a return spot🤣
Yesssss, I love her! One of the most ICONIC Divas of all time. She made such an impact in a very short amount of time. I wished her and Amy would have stayed longer! She could come back teach some of the current girls promo and charisma classes
Michelle McCool was the only Diva Search finalist that they didn’t get from an agency - the rest had all been models or actresses. It’s why it was BS that the wrestlers resented Amy Weber for the perks she got (free rental car, hotels) because that’s standard for acting gigs and wasn’t her fault.
Just wanted to comment & say, I've been following this channel since (almost) day one & this has to be my favourite interview/broadcast since then... Joy was my absolute favourite, her segments, personality & being, oh and how can I forget always making her my champion in SVR06. Thank you so much for this, you created the (not only women's wrestling) but the very best content on TH-cam, so grateful for Ring The Belle & you DS.
i love Joy so much more now omg 😭 she's such an angel and seems like a fun person to be around. the way she talks about her peers and the Bellas is so heartwarming ❤️ im also internally fangirling right now because i saw my comment is in the video. i feel like i made my ring the belle debut 😭😭
Joy is awesome! When LA hosted Monday Night Raw, my friend, Ian, scored us ringside seats. Joy was sitting right behind us and was super nice to talk to. I didn't have a Twitter and she convinced me to make one. She was my first follow and follower lol. I had a closeup on TV and I always looked to see if I could see her, too. Beautiful inside and out. Great great interview.
I grew up a little boy who loved Stephanie McMahon and the divas. I would talk about their stories with my peers as they were just as important as the main events they were discussing. Your channel is wonderful 💙💙
So glad to see this, Ring The Belle! I absolutely LOVED Joy Giovanni! I feel like she had so much potential and her chemistry with Big Show was unmatched
One of my go to theme songs for my SVR06 diva creations 😂. I love how she asked she initially asked if you wanted kayfabe or the real tea. Another interview to add to the greats DS!
This was a great interview! You two had such great chemistry and I loved the fact she was so open! She looks amazing and is the truly the personification of her name, an absolute Joy!
What a babe, and one of the long forgotten women in WWE’s history sadly. Her and Amy Weber had a nice little mini feud going in early 2005 until Randy Orton hazed Amy right out of the company.
I'm so glad you interviewed Joy. She was always a favorite of mine. I was under the impression she was Big Show's Wife back in the day and in the games I played into that lore lol
Exactly “i’m an actor” i’m not supposed to dislike and disrespect the script. You execute it. She really has the right entertainment work ethics. That’s something a lot of women now do not understand because they do not have a background in entertainment and its culture, to avoid seemingly being entitled.
After hearing this, I have much more respect Joy. I loved watching her in her short time and to know they released her when she said she was ready to commit as a full wrestler breaks my return 😢
Joy was the Only reason why I was invested in the Diva Search! She was A Huge Crush of mine as well! This is my favorite interview ever! Thank you for this DS! You've outdone yourself!!
Such a great interview! The thing about DS is that he asks all the right questions that we Diva/Women’s wrestling fans have in mind! I’ve always wanted to know the story behind Joy’s iconic pink and green WWE SVR outfit! 💗💚
Another great interview 👏 She is such a joy, pun very much intended. A beautiful soul. Although she willingly spilled the tea, she was still super respectful and positive.
Omg love love Joy Giovanni! I really wished the wrestling industry had been different. She was one of my faves around her time. And not to mention she looks exactly the same from back in the day! Barely aged a bit!
I did NOT know that was why Amy had left WWE omg? (Her wiki page says it was Edge and Randy Orton, i'm not surprised tbh) Love this interview with Joy! I forgot about a lot of the storylines she was in outside of the diva search
Harrasment and calling it "Hazing" is such a toxic and pathetic way to defend themselves as a bully even in college I don't know if they still do it but people do this "hazing" the new students its harrasment and bullying and it is a misused of power
@Leeif you did and you "stand up" you will be labelled as "difficult","problematic","doesn't want to follow the rules"(which they were never any rules to begin with), which is clearly stated in this interview is that she did actually doesn't like the hazing and she was labelled just as that whole college years you will be labelled as that and trust me people are sheep and they will shunned you and some of your bully classmates they will use you as an example and said like "look at this person, they try to 'rebelled' against the seniors and now no one likes to hang with them" type of manipulation so stand out for yourself absolutely but life is not like Movies just saying
Much love Joy from Youngstown, Ohio. You were the 1st wrestler ever from my very small hometown and as a kid, that made me really feel like it was really possible that if i wanted to become a wrestler 1 day, that i could ♥️
This was such a treat. Probably the most forth coming with backstage details. I loved how open she was. Im definately gonna keep up with what she has going on now.
Such tasty tea. I remember Joy from a G4TV show called "Video Game Vixens." I got into WWE from the video game side including SvR 2006. I'm glad it wasn't just me! I was always wondering what her theme song lyrics said until maybe a year year ago.
Omg finally! We’ve been waiting for nearly 2 years for this interview 😭 I remember when y’all first announced it and we never got a follow up until a couple months ago
I really like the way you use sound effects in your video. Very easy for those to become distracting or obnoxious but the way you use them flows seamlessly with and enhances the video!
Wow! This is why I love hearing the true REALITY these sweet Divas went through just to make a living! Being a young mother trying to maneuver through locker room politics, airplane drama, and frienemes would have been a number on me. Seeing how these ladies made it through tough times, so young in their careers, and still looked so amazing helps me power through the drama I face just working at Target. Staying away from vicious friend groups, dealing with overwhelming tasks, mitigating emotions and work politics. If these ladies did it and still walked away as sane as they are stunning, we too have the power to know where and when we are valued and when our place at the table is no longer welcome. Thank you Joy Giovanni for being your unadulterated self and a friend! Truly, only love can do it!!!! ❤️🔥✨
Great interview! When I was a kid, I was a big fan of Joy Giovanny during her short tenure because she was featured in that huge storyline between JBL & Big Show and she is so pretty. It was literally Torrie Wilson and Joy Giovanny for me 😂
Poor Joy being outed, at least her getting in the game solidified her being ‘known’. She 1000% had so much more potential. I always thought the diva search was fixed - How did Carmella come second?

It’s not an immature toxic environment place anymore since Triple H took over and Vince McMahon retiring. Thank god
