yay, more watching grubby struggle with something he hasn't played before and what seems completely easy to me while the way grubby plays melee looks like magic to me
If it's too complicated for a new player, then the map designer did a bad job creating it. All maps should be able to be launched in single player, which then put it into tutorial mode. Starcraft 2 maps have done this a lot; if they don't outright come with a MP tutorial in the first place. I tried to launch it in single player, and bots worked.. but after a minute the game ended because it thought everyone was maphacking because the map revealed the actual map. So, again, poor design.
i think Grubby can handle that map, maybe he need a few tries but he is capable to understand it, to me is easy to understand then you can try so many builds... and a lot of maps from W3 never had a tutorial and a lot of us try it anyways... everything is complicated if you dont try it first xD. @@AceStrife wow i never experienced that, and played vs bots a lot in survival chaos... may could be the version you had... sometimes in EpicWar are a few bugged maps to download... im sorry you couldn't experienced the map
It's really nice to see Grubby enjoying himself, playing World of Warcraft and Warcraft III at the same time, glad to see him try new things, love Grubby
I spent much of my childhood playing wintermaul, and seeing grubby do everything he can to make his maze leak like a faucet had me screaming at the screen.
I played WMW far more than any other map. I still don't understand why this was never made into an independent game. I might just download Warcraft III again to play. Never played a version that had a foodcap for towers.
Grubz, you have to start with sending a ton of units at the beginning of the game. The best units to send for income are hotkeys Q and W. Give a hotkey to the creep building's and after making a tower or mazing, focus on sending for the rest of the rould. The only alternative to that is when you want to save up gold for a specific tower or a really strong push. Those are the cheapest and most likely to die (Q and W) but also give you the best income relevant to your gold so you want to be sending them all game long. At least until you upgrade that tower specifically. Uhk, so much i want to tell you, but I'll just tell you on Twitch, lol I just saw the game in totality, and there are a lot of things you need to know. To be a really good player in this game, there are a few very easy to learn things, but they are for sure a must. Once learned, you'll slay the game.
Take a look at Sunken TD. It's a 2-player co-op TD that's hard and fun. Also i have a pendrive with some of these old maps backed up, if you're interested
it can be disappointing if you are a fan of a certain custom game, and you feel it's well made, and then no one makes it especially if one felt their internet connection wasn't good for hosting, and everyone would have bad ping if you hosted or even if you can host, no one joins, not enough people want to play it (and some games only function well or best with a certain number of players if not a full lobby)
Wc3 Broken Alliances custom game probably has the highest skill players where your WC3 normal game skills come in handy. If you play against those guys you will probably lose a few times and it has ELO.
Hey Grubby. You should check out broken alliances. Was by far my favorite WC3 custom game mode. I know the map can still be downloaded but it is so much fun.
I can't believe reforged audio passed QA when the clicks are strongly, and obviously, from the right channel. I struggle to watch WC3 content because it's so triggering.
hello , i need help from team grubby . apperently i played a hacked version of direct strike and now my account lvl and unit skins are gone , what can i do?
What I don't like about these maps and what I think prevents a lot of people from trying them out is there is no way to learn these maps except to fail horribly at least once. There is no chance to read or explore anything beforehand. And when you do, you inevitably are accosted and shunned by the others you play with...
it is what it is the reality is, if someone is horrible 1 time, and then played reasonably well the next hundred games or whatever then it's statistically minor the number of games they were bad also some games, if people give advice, they pick up the mechanic midway through the game, and once they learn start to do decent anyways, custom games had an air of it not mattering as much, it seemed more light hearted I felt bad playing regular warcraft and being bad in a 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, I felt I was actually letting someone down
@@justanobody0 It doesn't always feel that way. I've been in some games where the other players really just make you feel like dirt for not instantly knowing everything there is to know about the map. This is what turns off a lot of people from trying out more custom maps, I think. And often times with these tower defense style maps or versus sending maps, if you fall behind at the beginning there is no way to catch up, so your team auto loses. They're definitely not designed to be friendly to new players.
@@zachariastsampasidis8880 that would be nice, but no I wasn't expecting that. I think I was expecting something a little less chaotic and haphazardly put together.
Great map, painful to watch how Grubby had no maze the whole time and always forgot to send units but then again its his first time + streaming so its understandable
No maze? There's a limit to how many towers you can make and making a spiral that forces enemies to go through it twice is the best way to do it? If this isn't a maze what is? The tighter the spiral the more your best towers can reach during the whole loop and increasing size with cheap towers isn't going to actually help you that much. It just makes it so you need more good towers to do the same work for a bigger price, when all you need is a few good splash towers that kill most of everything anyway. What's needed is likely less maze and towers only meant for anti air behind so they don't target ground and let the air through when shooting other things. Like we can see the ground enemies barely make it through the entrance to Grubby's spiral in the second game. It just comes down to air.
@@Asphyr He had several openings and they ignored half of his maze cause it had serveral gaps. It was hardly a maze, perhaps only small sniplets of one so its hard to call it a maze. It was extremely bad and any tankier enemy can go through which will happen sooner or later on this map, perhaps you are new to that map. Im talking about his maze from the first map where he had gaps everywhere and shortcut for the creeps, didn't know he played a second round.

He made some TH-cam videos that show his gameplay of the campaigns. My secret hope is that you can cover this on your channel (at some point?) but anyways it's good to be aware of I think
grubby give my channel a look. i play a map vs AI that is based purely on the process of long term decision making and personal accumulation. it possesses extremely little of the error of what we call rng to the point of it being negligible. hard mode and hell mode are almost impossible to get through. it is unique and it has many flaws, but can you win hell difficulty? its different map style iterations are tricky in their own way. im hovering over 80 apm, im sure your 300 can compensate for achieving a win.
Typical beginner mistake. Waaaayy overbuilding - even building too many tier1 towers will ruin your game. You need to spend every single gold coin you don’t strictly need to hold, for income. Blue’s and OJ’s mazes size is correct until 20-30min. Tier2 summons shouldn’t be built until the moment you don’t have anything at all to send anymore and you start wasting income. Their inc/gold is much worse due to cooldown diff. You also 100% can’t upgrade the 2nd summons that early, as you now can waste up to 500g/round by not being able to send cheaper units. On the contrary, Tier3 summon is worth eco one or two rounds to get early because their inc/gold is significantly superior. Whoever can get Tier3 the earliest will 99% of the time win the game - unless they mismanage wood. Finally, if push your maze smartly to the bottom, you can convince the creeps to go around through your team mates’ bases before reaching yours. Coordinated saves/pushes are NEVER worth it (except to say send air this round). Send all down to 4g left, every round. Reach lumber income first, and win.
Please Grubby bless us with more custom WC3 content !!

wm wars gives me crazy memories
I loved line tower wars and duke wintermaul. I named one of my WoW character's wintermaul and someone thought I was the creator.
Off-topic question but.. Grubby, if Orcs are the only race in which the armor upgrade affects all units isn't it always useful to max it?
Wintermaul wars... that is a name i haven't heard in a long time

Try Daemonic Sword !! The creator works very hard for 10+ years constantly updating !!
In terms of ease of building, a square spiral is ideal.
How has grubby been playing WC3 for over 20 years and never played WMW? Insane lol

I always played this, GemTD, ElementalTD and BurbTD
Burbenog goated & islands TD

Grubby try survival chaos too. On average games last this long only.

How much would it cost to get you to try Spectrum TD?
