Maybe I'm missing something, but anyone with a lift like this gentleman has will almost certainly know the processs and have experience in removing a gas tank. The diy person looking for tips won't have a lift therefore will be doing the job with the no lift method, very different than this!!😮
I've got a 1986 Buick Electra wagon that needs a new fuel tank so I'm hoping there are universal tanks that would fit it and I don't need one off an actual 86' Buick because that would be a tough find...I've already sunk thousands in the car so the cars got to be fixed ......also I'm thinking maybe just go ahead and put a fresh fuel pump in the car while the tank is off...
Dude wasnt that bad. Easier than i thought. Honda made it pretty easy but i made it harder by forgetting a few steps along the way. 2 straps on the gas tank. Tank cleaned rather quickly and easily with some dawn soap and water. However, the welded nut inside the frame (holds the tank strap bolt) wasn't welded all that great and I ended up popping it off the frame. Had to cut the frame open and replace the nut. @dirtydan6098
I don't believe that to be necessary unless you are having problems. I had to drain because my fuel was contaminated with antifreeze, and motor oil with a touch of transmission oil for a beautiful color. Draining will help with removal if you are performing it on your back like I was, or if it's full, like mine was lol. Note that there are a few evap hoses you will need to take off, including the fill tube hose. Be safe with the fuel line hoses, as they have some funky clips . @cminchey0909
@@cminchey0909home depot 5 gallon buckets will be fine for storage for a week. If you have to siphon, keep in mind, your gas tank may be designed to prevent siphoning.

Is a Ford Focus tank welded in? Mine needs replaced and was told it was welded in.

At this point I’m changing leaf springs and tank has to come off should I change fuel why’s it out
