Growing mint for the first time, spearmint, and so far there is lots of space between leaf nodes, but all the videos I watch to learn what to do all the leaves are more stacked and dense. Does this just occur over time, or what can I do to encourage that? Thank you.
Cutting the tops can encourage denser growth. Also, here in Florida, it can get leggy in the summer and tend to dwindle. It usually makes a come back in the fall.
Help! A company called "Bonnie Plants" sent me "Spearmint (yerba buena)" but that seems totally wrong according to my research. I am into biology, so getting the genus and species right is important to me.
@@nancywolf3786 hi there.. sorry for this late… late reply to your question…. I steep it and brew it into a tea… drank hot or cold… I like it strong… whether fresh leaves or tea bags I ain’t too fussed because it makes for a nice healthy powerful brew and I think it tastes way better than plain ole bog standard mint… hope this helps you figure out what to do with yours… Thanks for your reply nonetheless…. Ciao ;)’
Nada melhor do que cultivar nosso próprio alimento de maneira organica, sem agrotóxico, pesticidas e tantos outros. E muito mais saudável. Parabéns!

Thanks for watching!
I just finished planting spearmint in a container. The seeds are so tiny I almost can't see them!
They ARE super tiny. I love that you’re planting from seed.
