Hi, soo happy to see you guys did a review on this resort. I have it booked for our 25th wedding anniversary in Feb. Super excited to visit this resort, I have watched a ton of YT videos and also joined a EOB group in Facebook. LoL Thanks again, look forward to watching more of your travel videos.
Glad you found it useful! Congrats on your upcoming nuptials. If you need help booking and to take advantage of honeymoon deals, let me know, happy to help.
My wife and I were at the EOB in October '22', and would have loved to run into you guys. In regards to the suites, we noticed that the walls and floors were constantly sweating. I do believe that it was caused by its proximity to the ocean. We do not care for air conditioning, so when we turned it off and opened the balcony door, the moisture would seep into the room. Although I loved the resort, the only thing that I would have preferred would have been ceiling fans. Other than that, the resort was truly 5 star. Thanks for sharing your adventures because they have blessed many travelers.
Wow, you all did a great review. My bf and I are going for Thanksgiving so this was very insightful. Originally we wanted to go to the Goldeneye resort in Oracabessa but thought they were too pricey during the holidays. Hope to get there at some point tho.
Nice review , I am thinking about this place inJune or July in 24. Just wanted to make sure when I spend my bag it is worth it. (LOL) . Did the hotel provide transportation from the airport and if not who did you guys use. This sounds like a good place for us we are in our 60"s we like eating , chilling and some light drinking. I saw one review snd they did not think the entertainment was that great. (They looked to be in their 30"s). Your thoughts.
Thanks! Our package included transportation through the resort. If you would like help booking you can contact us at doseofluxurytravels@gmail.com and we are happy to provide our services! As for entertainment, it depends on what you are looking for. The resort does not have party entertainment or club entertainment. So if you are looking for that, it’s not the right fit. The singers, fire show, steel drum band, etc were great.
Hey guys. We are considering a trip there in January. It doesn't look like we can book the excellence club suites any more (all they have left are the $2k per night villas). Do you think we would regret going without the club? Would things to be too crowded (restaurants, beaches, pools, etc)?
There’s a couple club restaurants you won’t have access too as well as lounging areas, bars and pools but the non-club restaurants and bars are just as good. The pool and beach areas have plenty of space and lounges, but they aren’t all soft beds like at the club lounge areas. Most of the day time entertainment takes places at the main pool so if your into that, you’ll be over there anyway. We liked being able to access all parts of the resort but if that’s not a big issue, you wouldnt miss much.
My husband and I are going to EOB for our 25th wedding anniversary. We are struggling with what the best route is for booking. Did you book your accommodation and flights directly and together, or did you go through a third party?
Hi! We're going here for our honeymoon in September. What is the tipping culture/expectation at this resort? We're trying to budget in tips for our five night stay
Hi! You should do what’s comfortable for you. We tipped about $2 per drink. For breakfast and lunch, we tipped $5-10 depending on service and for dinner we tipped between $10-20 depending on service. We also tipped if we got on the golf carts for a ride. For the spa, we tipped 20%. Also, I know you didn’t ask this, but when we went they gave several complimentary services and experiences for honeymoon and anniversaries; however, only if you stay a certain amount of nights. I think 6 nights. I’m not sure if that’s still the case or if the amount of nights changed, but it’s worth looking into! Congrats on your upcoming nuptials!
Hi,Thank you so much for this review. My Boyfriend suggested that we go to Jamaica for Christmas. So I ran across this review and now I’m super excited. Have you all been to the Riu Resort?
@@DarleneWilliams-jt7jr we haven’t been to the RIU in Jamaica, but have been to other RIUs. If you need support booking your trip, you can email is at doseofluxurytravels@gmail.com
So I’ve literally been to all the other Excellence properties except Jamaica …which is next. We always pay the extra for the club but what I’ve noticed is there is no way the staff knows who is in the club and who isn’t in order to provide exclusive access to areas such as the Beach and pools. Maybe the restaurants since they ask for the room number but how do they differentiate who is in the club and who isn’t at OB?
“It’s kind of weird to pay extra for access to certain things?” I mean, that is literally the model of airlines, cruises, resorts and everything else related to vacations in the western hemisphere? I don’t know why that’s weird to you? I mean, that’s like buying the cheapest room at a hotel but demanding access to the penthouse suite because it’s “weird” that they paid more than you? Or I paid for economy on the airline but first class is in the same plane so I should get access to it because…? That weird take aside, I’m glad that you appreciated that doing that upgrade gets you more. That is WHY I Excellence Club at every Excellence resort I’ve ever stayed at and at Excellence Oyster Bay you get WAY more Club benefits for the money compared to all the other Excellence properties. Not one but TWO Club-only restaurants with higher level entrees. THREE Club-only bars with higher shelf liquors. Higher shelf liquors in the room. And even without Excellence Club, the best beach, location and property of all the Excellence properties.
Huh? Who said anything about buying the cheapest room and demanding anything? We don’t only vacation on the western hemisphere-we are world wide. We have stayed at much more luxurious places than Excellence. Thanks for your comment. As we said, we had a great time.
Was there an additional charge for Lobster? Did they have a steak house? Did they have a night club(DJ)? Lastly, how far is it from the airport? We are thinking about going there next year. Thanks for the review.
Hi! When we went, there was no charge for the lobster, it was included in the all-inclusive amenities. They have a steak house, we thought it was just ok though. However, we did a dinner on the beach (not included in all-inclusive) and the steak we had there was good, but not sure which restaurant it came from since it was brought out to us on the beach. The resort is about 30-40 min from the airport. If you want to see what we ordered at the steak house or the room tour etc, we have a Vlog as well as a room tour on our channel!

Great review, been seeing mixed reviews that were making me nervous
Everything isn’t for everyone, but we enjoyed ourselves
Enjoyed the information. Whats even crazy is my wife and I have been married 11 years as well.
Thank you! Oh for real?! Nice!

Thanks for this review! My fiancé and I are considering this resort for our wedding, do you think it’s nice resort for a wedding?
Hi! It has nice decor so could work for a wedding. There was a wedding there when we were there.
Did you ever use your plunge pool? You mentioned people said they were cool?
We never used it.
I always make 2 reservations in one night in case I don’t like the food at one of the restaurants

We booked directly on the Excellence website and directly with flights.
@@FindingTheForresters Thank you for this helpful information. We are so excited for this trip!
Is there another room type you would suggest, the beach houses aren't available for my dates 😢?

That’s actually a good question. I don’t recall telling anyone what level we had as far as EC.

Can Cigars be smoked on the resort.
Hi! They have specific smoking sections. We also smoked cigars on our beach house balcony

Can men wear tank tops to breakfast/lunch?
Generally not unless it’s outdoors
Do you have a suggestion for a "turn up" all inclusive resort in Jamaica?
breathless - more luxurious
RIU montego bay - partied hard af there, but will never return the safety and service was not there at all.
@@socaliente34 THANKS
Excellence Oyster bay is in Falmouth not Montego bay
Yes, if you watch the video we say that. Thanks
You husband has no personality
That’s a bold assessment based on watching one video. Thanks for watching.
