I didn’t know Denison Barbs are endangered! They’re always so stunning to see in a planted aquarium. Shame about the endangered conservation status but you’re right - we as hobbyists can definitely help them by working to breed them in captivity. I really liked seeing the fish auction too. I totally wish we had more of that going on around here. Love Tony’s room too, he has a great collection as well.
Man AB your videos are just awesome such great content. I think i need to go and binge from the first video. Now im going to go watch the bloopers lol. Thanks for sharing
Adrian, I am an old fish enthusiast who was forced to take a 25-year hiatus from the hobby and I am just returning. I love your videos I always go to the new one when TH-cam notifies me. Your video editing style is quite nice and I truly enjoy your video content, also. Please do not stop making videos. You are a treasure. My husband even watches your videos with me. So hello from Clayton, Idaho USA
Well Gday Idaho ! So nice of you to say and I’m so happy I’m able to help in some way for you to enjoy our hobby some more… I truly appreciate your support and kind words. Say gday to your hubby for me… I will try not to bore him too much 😂 🙏❤️🐶🇦🇺🦘
Hey that LRB fella looks familiar 😁 That was a nice turn out for the auction! Great video! It looked like a great setup for them. I almost wonder if they would have liked a cave... Also if the guy found fry in his sump that tells me the fry go to the surface so big good floating plant mat would be beneficial it sounds. Now that I think about it, it would be alot like how I breed my sailfin shiners which are very similar shape and type fish but a native to FL. That big long tank of Tonys is a want.
Thanks bro I really appreciate your feedback and I think you’re 100% right on the floating plants. I’ve got quite a few ideas on how I’m gonna change it up for next year which I’ll send you directly and get your input so we can finally get this done. Lol I’m sure the cave was good for the fish, it was just a bastard when I was trying to catch them up, and try not to injure them. 😂 didn’t work. Hence now my deep-seated aversion to them. Lol I am just kidding as I know how much fish love caves.🙏🐶🦘❤️🇦🇺
Iv had fish nearly 50 years now i went to auctions like this in the 80s 😅 you ozzy guys are really taking over the fishkeeping scene on TH-cam. Hopefully il get back to Australia in the next couple of years im over English weather
Hey bro cheers thanks for that. I’m definitely going to change it up and have another go for sure. They are huge and I worked out that some of them would be at least 6 1/2 to 7 years old now. Any tips you got mate, please send them my way. Lol 🙏😂🐶🦘❤️🇦🇺
Well that was fun! I was busting up laughing a bunch of times! I gotta tell ya, I really enjoyed the first bits about the Denison Barbs and the info about their habitat. Thank God for the pause button. I got to stop and read all of the text you put in as well as some of those amazing shots of India. It really is a magical place. And those Denison Barbs really are magical fish as well. I did get to see Kaity's video of the auction already. Also a great perspective. After visiting Eliza's booth, I ended up buying one of those fry trays from Lowell's Fish Lab's Etsy page. He's the maker of them here in the States. I say them earlier when Nick toured Eliza's fish room and she showed just how they work. I was immediately sold. Cheers to Tony! I saw Nick's tour from a year ago or whenever it was. I'd love to see it again and from your perspective. That'll make for a great video. Also the Duthie Aquatics tour and aquascape should be fun. Your editing is amazing. I really need to spend more time and learn more - finding available music and overlaying it is my biggest challenge. I'm obviously not spending enough time with it. As always, best regards to Mrs Fishroom and give Ziggy a pat on the butt for me. Cheers, Mate! ~Ron
Thanks mate that’s an awesome message to read and I really appreciate the effort and your feedback. It means a lot to me. It certainly has taken some time to get the editing to flow better and I think each video seems to improve so it’s great that people notice it. take care lots of love from Oz🙏🇦🇺❤️🦘😎
I finally had my class 1 approved for south Australia I got 1 bearded dragon and 2 turtles and the 3 frogs with 2 yabbies ect also thank you for the motivation and encouragement my tanks are looking beautiful
It's very noble of you to try to breed them, they are an awesome fish. But yes, every time I think of getting them it feels like I'm helping their decline in their natural habitat. Best of luck, I hope more fish keepers copy your approach, so someday we can have these beautiful fish everywhere!
Yes, thanks so much. I do agree that we will crack this code one day and be able to breed them naturally. I really appreciate your support and feedback. It means a lot to me.🙏🐶🦘❤️🇦🇺
I am so glad you are making these videos. I love them so much. It feels like I know all these people. I purchases fish from Elyza, Nick and Duthies Aquatics. All great people and fantastic fish. I have to visit the auction next time, looks worth the trip. I wish I had someone in my family or a friend to talk fish to like you guys do, but nobody is interested in this topic.
I’m so Glad you like them! It means a lot to me when people take the time to give me such awesome feedback. It makes all the effort worthwhile. Yes it’s very cool to have those guys as friends and I don’t know what it’s like to have no one else in your family or in circle who likes fish. Lol. Including Mrs. Fishroom. Lol, I meant them all through my local fish shops and just taking part in the hobby and I’m super pleased that I did. Do you have any clubs near you?
Genuinely enjoy and appreciate your videos Adrian! Thanks for the effort you go to, to show us your amazing fishroom and projects! All the little tid bits and nuggets of knowledge you share is awesome, don’t change your style like the channels that grow bigger and become more ‘ corporate ‘ you have the perfect balance going!
Hey mate, Thanks for that awesome message. I really appreciate your support and yeah I don’t think there’s much chance of me changing at my age lol. I’m just really pleased that if in someway, my videos can make peoples lives better or their hobbies easier then I’m stoked, and also humbled by their support. Thanks again 🙏🦘❤️🇦🇺🐶
As i was playing my guitar last week,i played a tune and i couldn't Remember where i got it from.now i realize it's the one That's always in your videos. Just a catchy tune i guess.😄i would love to see a tour of tonys fishroom and i hope you Will succeed in Breeding those barbs.🤞i had never heard about those needleing practices before.😡 great video!!
Ha ha that is funny, which one was it? Was it the time lapse one? That one’s in my head all the time too. Lol thanks so much for your support. I really appreciate it.🙏🇦🇺❤️🦘🐶
Denison’s are a top fav fish and on my bucket list! Bummed yours didn’t produce fry but happy you are trying. Loved loved loved the intro about India and their habitat. I ran into another fish nerd this weekend and was telling him abt your channel: fish, birds, silly dog antics, a few danger noodles, so much nature, and hilarious outtakes😂
That is awesome! And thanks so much I really appreciate that 🙏mine are about 7.5 years old (half of them) roughly…. And the others are about 3 years old. 🙏👍🏻🇦🇺❤️🐶
Great video, mate ! One of my favorite fish. I have 25 of these in my 8 foot 240 gallon tank and my largest one is easily 6.5 inches (16.5 cm) long. I often see my slimmer more colorful ones chase the fatter, less colorful ones around and try to nibble at their undersides, plus a weird behavior where the fat ones would freeze and flair their fins while hovering over the large rocks I have in my tank, but I’ve never seen eggs or anything. Won’t be surprised if I accidentally end up with babies someday. Only reason I have so many of them is because somebody had 6 of them, and they reached out to me asking if I wanted them. I figured I’d take them and gift them to a friend as a surprise, but I decided to keep them after I saw how huge they were so now I have a big super school lol. Man, I wish I discovered this channel a lot sooner.
Wow, that’s a great message. Thanks so much for letting me know. I’m super excited that you’re trying to breed them and if you do even by accident lol please let me know how and what you did. Thank you so much for your support as well as it is greatly appreciated. I’m going to try them again this year in an eight footer if I can get it set up in time. And paid for. Lol.🙏❤️👍🏻🐶🇦🇺🦘
Love your dedication to your fish and animals. Moving the barbs looks like a bloody big job but you just get in and do it. Thanks for all the info at the auction we don’t see anything like that down in SA unfortunately, loved seeing all the stores. I now have a list of online stores to checkout. Massive day at the auction by the looks of the outtakes l, someone was getting tired lol😂 Keep up the great work.
Ha thanks so much I really appreciate that. Yeah it was too big days one for the barbs and one for the auction lol. It does make it all worthwhile knowing that people are enjoying the content and coming along for the ride with me.🙏🇦🇺🦘❤️🐶
AB you should go visit everyone that you can so we can see each one’s favorite fish and their creative ideas and styles for tanks. Nothing is more valuable than learning about other people…
Great video, loved the content!! That bit at the end - first time I've seen you look totally knackered, LOL!! I'm sure content creating is exhausting on top of everthing else you do. Keep up the good work :)
Ha ha I truly was. I could hardly walk or sit down for the next three days after doing that many squats, but it was all worth it to have them back in the fishroom as I realized how much I miss them. I really appreciate your support. Thank you so much.🙏🇦🇺❤️🦘🐶
Ha yeah they’re becoming popular and here I am trying to get better so it was not to do them. Lol I’m guessing whilst working with dogs and cats and fish etc. there’s always gonna be a few.🤞🙏❤️🦘🇦🇺🐶
It would have been great if the Denison barbs bred. I agree about the artificial method of breeding them is not the future for the fish. Someone will crack the code and we will have healthy and natural Denison barbs in the hobby! It was a good effort you tried on them.
Another great video, AB! You should definitely do a video scaping one of Matt’s tanks! That’d be a banger. Hope all is well, sir! As always, love the outtakes! lol
I definitely will do and ha ha ha. Yes, the outtakes are becoming more popular now that people realize they are on the end of the video. I would like to get to the point where I don’t screw it up so much as it would make my life easier, but I know that in my own success, I would disappoint people. Lol I haven’t got the hang of it yet, so I’m guessing many more to come. Lol thank you for your support. I really appreciate it.🙏🇦🇺❤️🦘🐶
Your adult Denison barbs look great. Keep at trying to breed them. I raised 6 of them for a number of years, they got certainly more than 6 inches in length, nice fish. I was in living in Florida at the time and had them in a 150 gal tank with some Rainbows that I was actively breeding. Then one day I found several of the skinner ones (males?) were relentlessly chasing one of the fat ones (female?). This went one into the next day. I was pretty excited but never did find any signs of an actual spawning. Brrrr. I'll keep watching for your first successful spawn. LRB should be a great guy to work with too. Best of luck!!!
Thanks so much for all that feedback that is brilliant I really appreciate it and great to know that it can be done in home aquarium. If you can think of any tips on how the aquarium was set up, please let me know and I really appreciate you passing that on and for all your support.🙏❤️🦘🐶🇦🇺
@@AdriansFishroom The only other thing I could think of at the moment is that I did not remember you mentioning. That is "Live Food. Live Food. Live Food" Best of luck!!!
I have 25 denison barbs in my 8 foot long 240 gallon tank, and I’ve also noticed that the skinnier more colorful ones often chase the fat ones. I’ve noticed that these fat ones would sometimes stop running and hover over a rock with their fins flared as the skinnier ones would get next to them and try to nibble at their undersides… Won’t be surprised if I accidentally end up with a spawn but the babies likely won’t survive as I’m not actively trying to breed fish.
Always appreciate your videos.... especially when watching on a snowy day here in Canada. Love the Denison Barbs. One of the most beautiful fish in the hobby.
I agree, and I will definitely have some underwater footage next year. I’m also gonna change it up as well. After learning what I did this season. Thanks so much for your support. It really means a lot to me.🙏❤️🦘🇦🇺🐶
Hi Adrian, I hope you are doing well mate, I really like your fish room, and I was wondering if you could do a series of breeding apistogrammas, one of my favorite fishes on the hobby, maybe triple red. Greetings from Costa Rica, keep it up!
Thanks for the idea! I do have some Pistol Grammas in the room and could definitely do something like that as a species profile. I really appreciate your feedback and your support.🙏🇦🇺❤️🦘🐶
Could you maybe do a fish room tour at your friend's place especially Tony I've heard about him but never seen his fish room. Great content as always and love seeing your amazing animals and you and king zig zig ❤❤😂😊
Is Eliza hand picked aquatics on you tube can you send her page im in the USA and would love to get some of your all products from Australia as it's my favorite country in the world
I definitely will be doing that, and I did a mini tour of Ross’s aquarium today that I’m gonna put together hopefully a really beautiful montage of.🙏❤️🦘🇦🇺
Sorry to hear that, I do know that the company she bought the 3-D printer design from as in America so they may ship to the UK? If you contact her directly, I’m sure she’ll be more than pleased to help you out. Tell her AB sent you. Thanks so much for your support. I really appreciate it.🙏🇦🇺❤️🦘🐶
not sure if I left a comment on here I havnt found it but wanted to say great video as always! I have some ideas for the Denisons I want to get some myself just havn't been able to afford them yet. But if you want to chat about it let me know cheers! PS I am down in NSW but for some reason my winters are a bit warmer than yours. Im down near the coast. I am planning a couple of big greenhouse tunnels for more space. My idea for the Denisons involves a false bottom with an overflow from under the false bottom into a lower tank or pond so eggs get pulled through and into the next tank. I have this strange idea about having the water flowing into both hitting on rocks and wood like mini waterfalls which also generate negative ions but might make the fish feel more like they would in a creek or river. I am drawing some pictures of the idea happy to send it to you. if I build it I will will test it out on some easier fish with a similar breeding habit and see if it works.
I always wanted to do an only cripts aquariums, it looks great! You know you can use cripts as an epiphite? Like a fern or anubias, thx for sharing looking forward to seeing your new Studio! BR from Bolivia
Yep I did finally notice him and he went back in the tank and I really can’t tell which one it was so I’m guessing he did perfectly well. Great pick up though. You’re the only one that’s noticed so far. Lol I really appreciate your support. Many thanks. and for your concern and kindness for fish, that means a lot.🙏🇦🇺🦘❤️🐶
@@AdriansFishroom excellent, I'm glad the fish was found and it's fit and well. They are beautiful fish so I wouldn't want you to lose one - especially due to all the effort it took you to get them out of the IBC! Really enjoying the channel and looking forward to future videos - thanks for sharing 👍
So nice of you to connect with me. I’m so pleased that you enjoyed my portrayal of your country and your beautiful fish. It means a lot and I really appreciate your support. Thank you.🇦🇺❤️🦘🙏🐶
Very nice Adrian and very professional. I will retire in a few months and have got inspired by your hard work. No more cats please . They are just oversized rodents. Lazy stinky animals. Hope Zigster is doing well. He is a delight to watch. TY mate.
@@AdriansFishroom Don't think it will go above 35 here in UK lol but going to try and give them a go in pond (8 by 4 and 2.5 foot deep) once temp gets over 19c as keeping a small group (9) indoors at 22c. So for 3 to 4 months keep them outside and see what happens.
Hey mate, I think you probably did get a spawn but with the adults being in there the entire time they may have cannibalised the fry/eggs, and or if any snails were in there they might have eaten the eggs. Also we need to pull our fingers out and organise to film our aqua scapes 😂
Thanks bro…. I did think of that as well post pulling it down and probably should have used spawning mops too. Ih well, next year 🙌🏻 I def want to do some scaping as well.🙏❤️🇦🇺🦘🐶
Angels, are very peaceful fish, and your tetra will eat the eggs and babies for sure. I will try either removing one pair of angels or all the serpae tetra as a star point.🇦🇺❤️🦘🙏🐶
This was a fun one Adrian, I did hope that you bred the barbs but maybe next time. I'm not sure if I would go as far as getting in the IBC tote so kudos to you. Well done!
Ha ! Thanks so much mate, yeah all the squats and shot putting the rocks smashed me. I’m humbled that you watch my vids bro, I did just watch yours and Nicks today and I loved it. 🙏❤️🦘🇦🇺🐶got to get you over here !! 🇦🇺

I think so too! And thanks for your support 🙏🇦🇺❤️🦘🤩
yes, let's see you do a scape in Matt's room, too!
Definitely will !!🙏🇦🇺❤️🦘🐶
love the bloopers
Ha yeah they’re becoming popular and here I am trying to get better so it was not to do them. Lol I’m guessing whilst working with dogs and cats and fish etc. there’s always gonna be a few.🤞🙏❤️🦘🇦🇺🐶
another great video, Adrian! would love to see another tour of Tony's room!
Coming soon! And thanks so much for your support. It really means a lot.🙏🐶🦘❤️🇦🇺
Loved it…GREAT JOB…👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽☺️
Thank you!! 😊 I really appreciate your support🙏🇦🇺🐶🦘❤️
One of your best videos so far ❤❤❤❤❤
Ah that’s so nice of you to say I really appreciate that and your support it means a lot to me🇦🇺❤️🙏🦘🐶
It would have been great if the Denison barbs bred. I agree about the artificial method of breeding them is not the future for the fish. Someone will crack the code and we will have healthy and natural Denison barbs in the hobby! It was a good effort you tried on them.
Thanks so much for support, and yep you’re right there is always next year🙏🦘❤️🇦🇺🐶
Another great video, AB!
I really appreciate it.🙏🇦🇺❤️🦘🐶
Nice video montage. Enjoyed that.
✌️🦐🐟🤙
Cheers mate, that means a lot 🙏🐶🦘❤️🇦🇺🙏
Absolutely brilliant as always
Thank you! Cheers, you have no idea how much your feedback and support means to me.🙏🙏🙏❤️🦘🇦🇺🐶
Always appreciate your videos.... especially when watching on a snowy day here in Canada.
Love the Denison Barbs. One of the most beautiful fish in the hobby.
So true and thank you so much for support from snowy Canada. Much love here from Oz.🙏🇦🇺❤️🐶🦘
Exactly the same here in Idaho, USA

Amazing video, we even got a lil documentary on Indias wildlife, I would love to see underwater footage of them tubs outside that would be so cool
I agree, and I will definitely have some underwater footage next year. I’m also gonna change it up as well. After learning what I did this season. Thanks so much for your support. It really means a lot to me.🙏❤️🦘🇦🇺🐶
I would like to see a fishroom tour of your mate
Thanks mate, def will do. Happy to have that chat soon too 🙏❤️🦘🇦🇺🐶
❤ your videos, very inspiring❣️
Thank you so much! I greatly appreciate that and your support. That’s so nice to hear.🙏🐶🦘❤️🇦🇺
Great vid once again, thanks for the effort it’s appreciated. I love Tony’s fish room after seeing it on KFS.
Have a great week mate
Regards Duzzy 🇦🇺
Thanks legend, you too !🙏🐶🦘❤️🇦🇺
@@AdriansFishroom have they been bred to your knowledge? By Lucas Bret’s or anyone?
Regards Duzzy🇦🇺
Could you maybe do a fish room tour at your friend's place especially Tony I've heard about him but never seen his fish room. Great content as always and love seeing your amazing animals and you and king zig zig ❤❤😂😊

Great video again mate,I would love those fry trays but they do not send to England. Can't find them here in UK to buy.
Legend ! That’s a great message and def hit me up directly on Instagram as o would love to know more 🙏🦘❤️🇦🇺🐶
👍
🙏❤️🐶🇦🇺👍🏻
I always wanted to do an only cripts aquariums, it looks great! You know you can use cripts as an epiphite? Like a fern or anubias, thx for sharing looking forward to seeing your new Studio! BR from Bolivia
So cool !! I didn’t know that and thanks so much for your support 🙏❤️🐶🇦🇺🦘
15:10 one of the barbs jumped out of your net when you started to put them into the tank. I hope you knew that and the fish was okay 👍
I know right ! lol thanks so much, it really means a lot to me to hear that 🇦🇺❤️🙏🦘🐶
Another great video mate, I've really gotta get to the next auction, where can I find more info other than bloody FB?
Thanks so much ! And No clue lol I ask Tony ! Hehehe. Maybe try the Brisbane cichlid club page as a starting point 🙏🦘❤️🇦🇺🐶
Its local name is miss kerala, and kerala is the southern state in India, where I am living...thanks for the wonderful video..great fan, Keep going
So nice of you to connect with me. I’m so pleased that you enjoyed my portrayal of your country and your beautiful fish. It means a lot and I really appreciate your support. Thank you.🇦🇺❤️🦘🙏🐶
Oh, the fish I would keep outside if I lived in a climate that would allow it!
You and me both!…. I wish we didn’t have winter here ! lol 🇦🇺❤️🦘🙏🐶
@@AdriansFishroom Bit of a difference between our winters. We hit -30 Celsius for a few weeks.
Very nice Adrian and very professional. I will retire in a few months and have got inspired by your hard work. No more cats please . They are just oversized rodents. Lazy stinky animals. Hope Zigster is doing well. He is a delight to watch. TY mate.
Ha ! My dad would hole heartedly agree ! 🙏🇦🇺❤️🦘🐶
@@AdriansFishroom Good man!
Tour of Tony's room pleaseeeeeeeeee
✅ will do 🙏🐶🦘❤️🇦🇺
please do an official video of Tony's fish room...😊
Will do soon for sure !!👍🏻 🙏❤️🇦🇺🦘🐶
don't miss the out takes everyone!
Ha yeah…. I’m try hard to improve but this weeks one coming up…. Man o man, there’s a few !! lol🙏❤️🦘🇦🇺🐶😂
Be interested to find out what sort of temperature range you were keeping them when outside
Never got below 15c and as high as 35c🙏🦘❤️🐶🇦🇺
Ih well, next year 🙌🏻 I def want to do some scaping as well.🙏❤️🇦🇺🦘🐶
I need tips ❤ my angels are full size very big but they keep getting nip by little sepre tetra but angels don't fight back, why?
