I don't know what it is that's so hypnotizing about those jump sequences, whether you're watching the footchart or actually doing it yourself, there's something so addicting about your body just automatically following along every single jump. Then you think back like, "....WTF just happened?"
@TheSmilingVagrantsOfficial well, I have now developed a very spiritual relationship with this song, so I have an ultimate goal of taking down that Possession Challenge Double Play Lv. 19. I'm nowhere near ready for it just yet, but dammit, I'm COMING FOR IT!! 😤😤 I have to have it!! lol This chart signifies a HUGE milestone for me; when I first came out of surgery a few months ago, a jump of ANY KIND was PAINFUL af for me. And as of yesterday, I beat this chart!! i cried when I beat it for the first time, couldn't help it. I've come such a long way in such a short amount of time. Dance games have been a great tool for rehabilitation in my recovery. I feel stronger and stronger every time I play. Gotta take down that CDP!! It's a personal goal of mine now. I don't even care if I NEVER beat another Lv. 19 for the rest of my life, POSSESSION will be MINE!! 😤😤😤😂😂😂💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
@@neferazure That's great! If you can handle these jump streams then you're in good shape my man. My advice is to walk/jog up the steepest inclines you can find. A level 19 double? I don't even do doubles but that's insane!
@TheSmilingVagrantsOfficial I'm a female. The jumps were actually fine, I was prepared to completely blow my calves but not only did that NOT happen, I had more than enough energy to play a few more hours! I felt even BETTER passing it a second time in the same night! I'm on a roll! 💪🏽💪🏽😤😤 As far as training, I'm focusing on lateral speed and agility and just training really hard in the gym. Since starting at the gym a few weeks ago, I've noticed a huge improvement in my stamina and endurance already. It's a great feeling. I plan to keep going until I can't go anymore. I've been playing dance games for 22yrs now with no plans to stop any time soon. As long as my body allows for it, I'll keep it going! POSSESSION WILL BE MINEEEEEE 😤😤😤😅😅😅😂😂😂💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
@@neferazure nice, i didn't even notice that you were female. 22 years is insane. Let's see, I started when I was 8 and I'm 24 now so that's...16 years for me?
Ive passed several 17s before this one and it took me several tries to pass this because of the jumps. I finally passed it last week with a score of 964k
@Andrew Ortiz It's on DDR Ace, but it is over a decade old. It's originally from DDR X2 which dropped in 2010. I was one of the first in the US to play it at an official private DDR release party. This was one of the boss songs for X2. Which is why the original commenter said its such a classic because even at the time of commenting this song was already 10yrs old. Sweet Sweet ♥︎ Magic is even older, close to 2 decades old; I remember when it first came out. Also fun fact: At the DDR X2 release party, jun came and performed Sweet Sweet ♥︎ Magic and True♥︎Love live for us. We all got to meet her, Naoki, and U1, who also performed live sets. It was pretty epic. Everyone was doing the steps to her songs on their imaginary pads in the crowd. Definitely an experience I'll always remember. Fun times!
1.25x seems just right for me. 1.5 and 1.75x may be too fast for a song like this! I know the latter speed many players can handle, but I'm not like most.
Here's an unpopular DDR opinion you don't hear very often: Possession is one of my least favorite TAG songs. I think it represents a prevalent issue in most of TAG's pre-2016 songs: his songs sound so much alike to one another and struggle to really stand out. Possession very much represents that particular issue: it sounds extremely "same-y" when compared to most of his other songs, but in addition to that, it does very little to stand out and make it memorable: the song feels monotonous, especially with the classic TAG synthesizer being played throughout the entirety of the song. And yes, even the famous "clap/jump" part does nothing for me, because it still feels stale when compared to the rest of the song. I wouldn't call it a bad song at all though; rather, it's a song I have a really hard time getting into. I will say this positive about Possession though: it has some very nice charts! The Expert chart is especially good and flows really well with he song: I'd say it is arguably the best 17 chart in the game! The issue I have with Possession same issue can be applied to his other songs like Another Phase, Aether, Over the Period, Cosmic Hurricane, and Revolutionary Addict, which also feel quite "same-y" when compared to each other and Possession. I confess that I like two of them (CH and RA) more than the others because I feel like TAG uses his synthesizer just right in a way that makes them stand out to me, but I can easily see why someone might not like those two songs. On a good note, I've really been digging TAG's more recent songs like Vanquish the Ghost, Dream drip macchiato, and Blaze x Breeze because they all demonstrate that TAG is beginning to show more variety with his techno and trance. I also really dig some of TAG's songs that showed signs he was beginning to show variety in that genre like Shunpuu Blowing Wind and Lightning Thunderbolt.
TAG will always be the SUPER STAR to me! I personally miss his MITSURU and MITSURU-sounding songs like ONLY ONE ACT, roppongi EVOLVED, and London C "mou, omae shika mienai"
I approve of this opinion! Tag's always felt like an artist who's had trouble bringing variety to his own songs: this was a great song when it first came out on X2, but after hearing practically the same song again through Prana, Aether et al, it certainly loses its luster. Tag's early 130bpm releases had a similar issue: they all re-used the same distinctive drum track, making it much harder to tell them apart than it should have been.
I think we like Possession cause it's one of the first TAG songs most people hear, so it still feels fresh. Every game TAG was sound director (X2-2014) had a worse songlist than the last.

Wtf I have a harder time reading these jumps than the end stream of psmo 😭
Songs/Charts like these make me so excited to have come off my several-years hiatus from this game. Ugh! So good!!
my first 17 smile. looking to tackle kskst and fascination maxx next

Game has been going on for so long that the generation that played this song are as old as the ddr boomers of their gen was
This is pure stamina in general. If anyone can manage the jumps at the final 3rd of the song, You’ll be fine.
Thanks to you, i passed my first 17 today. I appreciate you charting this.
this was my first 17 too!
Finally passed this song yesterday.
A modern classic. Very fun, and a solid entry-level 17.
This song comes on DDR Ace and I like sweet sweet heart magic and dj taka songs
Scoring is easy but hard to pass. 🤕

I actually really like that chart.
7th kac 予選課題曲だし この時期にはホントありがたい。 ええぞ
expertを待っていた!!
Love so much the jumps and the sync in them
Passed this today.
With a horrible score ;)
Jump practice: 0:41 to 0:54, 1:24 to 1:42
Heard you like jumps
i think this is a kinda standard of lvl 17.
This chart is hard because these damn jumps get me. But the 16 on the mix version is so much easier for me.
It wasn't THAT hard..... at first
Then soon this stamina demanding chart got me tire out flat
The density of continuous jumps is still lower than the drop out ESP13, but it lasts much longer
Thanks so much!! I watch every video. You're a huge asset!!
Could you do new decade CSP as one of your next videos?

Really good chart
