I'm a kobe's fan. And my emotional die hard fandom retired with him. Having said that I respect and give credit to each if the warriors titles b/c ok they got lucky in 2015. In 2016 the won 73. Which in my eyes validates their 2015 title. Then in the finals it took lebron, kyrie, the league office, rigging game 6 (you dont call 6 fouls on a unanimous mvp), and injuries for bogut and Iguodala for the warriors to lose by 4 in game 7 of that year. The NBA redeemed itself by allowing the warriors to get kd after that rig job two weeks prior in the 2016 finals. Then they beat lebron and hold him to 1-8 in finals games those last 2 seasons. Then this season comes and they decimated their depth for the sickest starting 5 in history. Everyone raved about the warriors adding the 5th Infiniti stone when in reality if you know basketball you can be capable of distinguish between reality and hyped up narrative collective nba fan consciousness. Basketball is a 15 vs 15 game. The team that knows how to use those 15 pieces the best usually result as a champion. The warriors gave up their depth. And they wouldn't have beaten Cleveland and the refs without kd. (We all know the refs substantially tried to make each of those dubs vs. Cavs games competitive. They wouldn't have beaten the cavs twice without kd. So each and every one of their titles has value.
Well as a Warriors fan I would love for my team to win. However, I truly respect the Raptors and if my team is to be dethroned it would be them. For those of you who were hating on my team I understand. I once remember that I hated the big 3 of Miami and I thought the NBA was unfair. Who knew that Curry, Klay, and Draymond would blow up. And who knew that we would added KD and Cousins. We went from the bottom to 3 rings in 4 years. Who knew that I was complaining that the league was unfair to having others have that same complain to my team. However, I realized that all dynasties will face the end and for me to experience my team to go from a losing team to a winner is very rewarding. To the Raptors fans enjoy this championship and if your team does become the next dynasty don't mind the hate that may come your way. Remember, my team is at the end but yours has only just begun. You're so right about the luck thing. When a team gets unlucky, people act like they should 'just have overcome" and gone playing just as good. These are pro teams competing over millions of dollars. Every bench player and coach is supposed to add something. If it was that easy to just lose a key rotation player and be the exact same level, then why would teams bother to find the best player they can for those roles? At the professional level the margins are fine and everyone's looking for that tiny edge that makes you better than the opponent. Teams have always needed the good luck to not lose enough of those tiny edges for another team to be able to beat you
All I say is, if you don’t count the warriors ring in 2015, then you can’t count this ring for the raptors.

2015/16. Blew a 3-1 lead and lost when the cavaliers were fully healthy.
2016/17. Added Kevin Durant and blew Cleveland off the floor in the finals.
2017/18. Faced a horrible cavalier team that James had to drag to the finals again.. and swept them easily.

Talking about injury luck, how unlucky was it for OG Anunoby to need an emergency appendectomy a day before the playoffs start. Not during the regular season, not part way through the series, but directly between regular and post season. He's young and isn't top tier, but he certainly could have helped the team. Felt bad for him missing out on all the playing experience he could have got in the playoffs to improve even more as a player long term.
As a Warriors fan, I can honestly say that the only team that scared me enough to make me want to face them in the Finals was the raptors. I mean they shit on the Warriors in the regular season, and one of those games, Kawhi wasn't even playing. Its just a really fucked up situation.

You could literally point out the littlest things to put an Asterisk to any championship. The “Rental Experiment” leading to success will most likely end up being an anomaly. These dudes in their prime will eventually want a longer contract to have some more security/stability etc, and there won’t be enough truly transcendent players to go around. Plus, these Supermax level players can’t afford to catch an injury while constantly on 1-3 year deals.
