I got hired in an Admin role at just 21 years old. All i had was superbadges and lots of Trailhead hours. Thank you for the motivation David, it’s been life changing.
How did y manage to find a job I’m a certified app builder and administrator for summer break of my freshman high school year can you please quote me how to get a job I can provide proof of my certainty if we get in contact my email is kapishsfdc@gmail.com btw I’m not asking for a job I’m just asking we’re to find them
Hey David, could you do an updated video for 2022? I’m at a big transition in my life and want to leave a dead end construction job and jump into tech and really want to be a sales force admin. However, I’m afraid the market might be too saturated right now.
I’m watching this video in 2022 and learning salesforce now. I actually heard of this before I was even a college graduate in the early 2000s as an end-user. It has definitely grown since then. I want to start as admin and eventually learn to code.
As a mid-career Salesforce professional, this was a relief! Agree on the coding - all of the job posts I see are looking for developers beyond admin level.
Hey David Starting my Salesforce journey in my mid thirties. I stumbled upon this channel and think it’s totally awesome and honest... great stuff.. keep doing the good work👍👍
Hi Kanika, same here. 9 years into IT majorly in Software Testing. Trying to change to Salesforce. What is your learning approach going to be? Was just curious to know as I just started my research and am convinced that this could be worthwhile delving deep into.
I am currently a PHP programmer / Web developer and planning to not actually switch but add Salesforce development skill. This video helped me to decide whether to get certification or not. I hope I can get the exam passed!
Why was it bumpy? I'm a software engineer for a healthcare company. If this is easier then your normal OOP standards which is evolving yearly...I'm intrigued on the challenges you're dealing with. Can you share?. Thanks in advance!
So I had my mind all made up to engage in the Salesforce Administrator course primarily based on a TikTok influencer and then you got me. I have been really interested in AI and the world of computers so I've decided to look at learning to code. I have no idea what is instore for me but it's all about the journey. Your insight and honesty really piqued my curiosity. Your comment about 50 and 60-year-olds learning to code were where I made a definitive decision to challenge myself.
Good content! Been doing Salesforce for 10 years as an admin who is not afraid to code. Talked my developer husband into it also. We are a 2 Salesforce-income family and it's not too shabby.
I totally agree with this, if you are just starting your salesforce career, need to exert more effort in learning and transitioning to it. Salesforce is no longer the NEXT BIG THING, it already is now. #pjazurin #teamtugtugan
Another angle on this is Salesforce is now strategic. So the skills you need are enterprise level implementation (COE / DevOps / BA / Architecture). So BIG projects, with big budgets and big problems. And you get paid based on the size of the problems you can fix. Big problems = big $$$. If you don;t know what these terms mean, go and start finding out. spoiler alert: you won't find them on trailhead. train.elements.cloud/live
I’ve just started to develop salesforce at my company and they are teaching EVERYONE that is available there. So, competition grows everyday is a fact. On the other hand, I came from a technology which was on fase 3 when I started coding on it. Salesforce is a way of getting up to date with recent technology. Thanks god.
6 MVP’s! Your the LeBron James of Salesforce. I came across your channel today. I’ll make sure to watch all your videos so I don’t ask a question you’ve already answered. I’m really excited about this opportunity. Thank you
it is so true that you don't need to know super complex logics in salesforce because the salesforce restrictions and limitations itself force you to code good
David, thank you for this motivation I am just 19 and and I am working as Salesforce developer since 1 year. And these video gives me motivation to grow faster in these industry.
As one of those new entrants to salesforce, I was nervous about what you were going to be saying, David! I just finished homework number Four today in your second Apex Academy course.
looking to pivot in my career at this point! currently use salesforce as CRM for our firm. Going to start looking at salesforce roles! really helpful video
Hello there. I am a former Software Engineer that had to become a trucker for some reasons. I never heard before about Salesforce. Only 3 months ago a friend of mine, from university, told me about it. Now I am fighting to get my Admin Certification. See what happens. Thanks for your inspirational videos. Thanks.
My dad has worked for Salesforce partners for years. He's managing architects now and has supported my family well. I'm 25, majored in Nutrition, went into the healthcare industry, but after a few years in it, I'm not sure if I want to work in patient care forever. I've always had a knack for Excel and would be interested in learning to code as well. Currently working on the admin cert on my days off. It seems like such a leap though since it is hard to get a job without experience. Anyways, this video was very helpful! Thank you.
Good stuff David! I have a lot of free time on my hand and decided to take on this journey, my background is in Digital Marketing so figured this will allow me to have additional income hoping to land some remote gigs!
Expand horizontally as well. There are heaps of salesforce developers in India.. No judgement I mean I have many talented colleagues in India, platform II with annual income of 30k. Think about how else you can add value, add on training/ project management... but I must say doing my first exam 5 years ago, more credentials n add ons enable me to maintain a new job at 6 deg after being retrenched at this climate.
I have been learning SF since 2018 and at this point, I am not sure what to think. In 2018, I was so excited, but now 2 + years later, I often wonder is it worth it. I have had my admin since Feb of 2019 and I still have not made any salary or money off of SF. Coding may be a better route now.
Thanks for guiding David, I strted learning sf admin but as you mentioned, I was not sure whether I will be able to code, thanks for your information about developing is not that difficult!! Keep making such videos and motivate us as always!!
Ahh David. Can't thank you enough as even I have recently done my masters in Marketing and cannot find a job that is into marketing. All I got was Sales Dev, Biz dev roles. Want to try my hands on salesforce. Supercharged to turn around my career into this.
Thanks for the video david, I received my first SF admin job last week for 74k in Utah! I still haven't decided which SF path I should choose. There are quite a few; admin, consultant, developer, solution architect etc. Could you make a video on pros and cons of each SF role?
I totally agree with you. I got to know about Salesforce back in 2014 during my Masters degree and I completed DEV & ADM certifications at that time. I got an internship on the basis of those certifications only but never got to work on actual SFDC project. I ended up getting full time job as Data Engineer and never worked on any Salesforce project in past 6 yrs. I kept learning on Trailhead and still get fascinated with Salesforce. But I feel like the technology and platform has evolved so much in past 6 yrs that it looks really tough to get into SFDC development. At the same time, I feel I can still get into SFDC BA or Consultant roles as I am into Consulting now. What are your thoughts on this, David?
Best Salesforce related channel on TH-cam. Are online salesforce certification courses worth paying money for? Or should I try learn solo? If you are in Silicon Valley you should start you’re own program!
Thanks!!! I personally got 18 certs with no courses but I know many people use courses successfully. The less experience you have the more worth it the courses are. I have a Salesforce coding program myself at bit.ly/go-apex !
David, to my mind, the big challenge is also to compete with overseas talent. Can you also do a video on people eyeing the same position in US from overseas vs local?
Hi David, I am 47 yrs and have been working in the field of QA and Automation QA. Please suggest if I can still make a good career out of SF or should I choose one some of the cloud technologies or ETL tools? Please help. Thanks
Great stuff David! I might suggest to all who may read learn Salesforce and all about SaaS platforms in general and pursue selling. Trading your life for time will never get anyone rich. Selling is residual. Companies keeping signing year after year and the checks keep coming in. That’s the life I’m talking about😉
Pretty good video! Thanks for sharing. I still do think that we need that to see what's coming on the other side of the "Virus times" and 2020 may become a different year altogether but got your point...
I've worked in the customer service department and the accounts we handle uses Salesforce as CRM. I guess we can say I'm an end user. Due to the pandemic, I'm loving working from home and would like to continue working at home in the future. I can take both paths, as an Administrator and Developer, but I have no experience on coding. Does the learning plan teaches me basic coding or the coding skills needed for SFDC? Thank you so much David!
Thank you !! Thank you !! Thank you!! You were the answer to my prayer. Im jumping into the Salesforce world and wasnt sure what path to pick: Admin or developer. Im a software Engineer over 50yo very behind in technology because for the last 15y I chose my kids over my career. Was wondering if developer path would be too much at this point on my life, you know Web stuff, OO, Java script, etc.. You answered that question , Im going for the developer path, yeah !! Thanks again. Liliana Rogers
At 6:01 can you please list down all those training platform pls, Ive managed to note down only salesforce pathfinder, JVS, trailblazer connect. Thanks so much!! I actually started out to learn Salesforce Admin few months ago. And now I can move internally within my company for much better job. Though I am in Paris so the salary is not so high compared to US I'd say around 45-58k~ (mine is a bit lower). Do you know which Salesforce certificate pays the most? Ive just started out career with salesforce!! Tks so much for this video!!
In this day and age, I feel that the biggest skill one needs to have is to use Google properly. Solutions to all the problems are available on Google. Please learn to Google
Before getting in to the salesforce field you must know that it is best in crm world, not fod the general full stack development world. One can argue that we can this and that but what will be the scope of that app. So if you are such a developer who wants to explore the tech frameworks, coding then don't invest your time here. Although it's very productive platform but in its own domain. If ypu are ready to deep dive in crm world then go on..learn it. It is best.
Cool David.. i made my dad learn salesforce for past 3 months , since i started WFH.. he is 40 years experience in IT , worked. in oracle n other old tools like cobal. he loves salesforce.. and completed 60 trailhead badges in 2 months..
Thanks for all the informative vids! Ended up watching all ur vids of u giving opinions on Salesforce as I’ve recently started an internship role as a Salesforce dev I’m just worried that SF dev skills arent really transferable outside of SF/CRM and if it’s too late to get in now since it’s a phase 2 tech. As a graduating student would it be worth it to start deepening my knowledge in SF now? Or should I keep my options open by learning other tech stacks?
Thanks! Yes the younger you are the less I'd recommend Salesforce honestly. It depends on whether you want to take on longer term bets or commit to something that'll for sure be strong in the short term
Get a good grasp of your OOP fundamentals its implementation depending on flavor(C#, C++, C,...). What you learn in school ONLY scratches the surface. Stay busy learning new technologies and improving on the ones you understand. Good luck to you!
Does salesforce curve is more flaten than entertainment apps like insta, fb etc...? We have excel for a long time with us now. And Salesforce is an upgrading platform as well. What do you think??
Don't choose Salesforce i know it's trending now but after some year's it wouldn't worth .Learn AI ,In coming years AI will come and 60 - 70% people would lose there jobs
Hi, for students what tool do you advise to learn in the 1sr phase of growth ? For someone who doesn't learn science or maths but in business school? Thank you
David, your video was highly informational, thank you so much. I literally woke up today as a state case worker and just felt like “I can’t keep doing this for the rest of my life” and literally just remembered someone telling me about Salesforce before and started looking it up. What job would you recommend as a transition for the time being as I learn Salesforce? I do have sales experience but would prefer something else if possible. I went back to school and got a BA in Bus. Admin and can’t buy a job right now, thank you again for your advice ❤️
Your thoughts on MS Dynamics? Lots of people are talking about Dynamics overtaking SF's core business in a few years. Dynamics can't beat SF head on but the MS Cloud and the range of their products are very enticing for organizations. MS products integrate very well with the biggest tech platforms meanwhile SF hasn't done a good job integrating some of their biggest acquisitions (Tableau, Mulesoft, etc.).
This was great content! Thanks for your insights, obviously you are a very credible source, so thanks David! Also, is there a particular module, CPQ, Marketing Cloud, Service Cloud or Sales Cloud that might be the highest in demand for the next few years or so?
@@dvdkliu Hi David, What about cpq? I am from oracle e-business suite background and have 3 years of SFDC functional knowledge, so wanted to learn cpq and switch. Please advice on its future
Hi David. I am a 3d Artist currently, and have been fast tracking myself through Trailhead and will be taking my admin certification within the next few weeks. I know that I am basically already done with this path, and I do have an interest to learn some of the coding a little further down the line. I just am worried about getting a job... even more worried after watching this video. I live in the Charlotte NC area and all of the jobs around here (of which there are only between 5-10) ask for years of experience and college degrees... which I have neither of, will just have a certification. Do you think there are ways I could get practical experience in the meantime to look better for employers, or have I completely missed out on the craze and dont stand a chance when compared to an admin who has learned salesforce but also has business degrees and etc?
All the best to you! Many things I'd recommend. First watch my "how to fake experience..." video. Then get more certs. Finally ignore the years of experience "requirements" on job descriptions. I believe if you're willing to put in the work there's a guarantee chance of success. But if you're not then it's better to roll the dice elsewhere. Coding will make things significantly easier but will also have a higher investment!
Hello David, Thank you so much for all your amazing videos. I am working in SAP CRM and have planned to switch to Salesforce. I would like to go with SF ADM certification soon. Do you provide any sort of online training?
Thanks for the video, does it apply to Canadian job market. I think there is big market for it in USA but when I search on Indeed Canada I don't see many jobs out there.
Can you please elaborate on how you don't need any coding skills to learn how to automate business processes. What key concepts and principles should you know?
Hey man what's going on, I'm asking you this very early in the day. What do you think about salesforce in 2022? Do you think it's still worth entering because I want to be able to work in this field
Hi David Great video as always! For the students graduating in 2020 do you think that time has already passed for them to enter Salesforce ecosystem as Salesforce is entertaining phase 2 and should be looking for some phase 1 technologies rather than Salesforce ? And what do you think about Salesforce development as a career for students graduating in 2020 which you said is still in phase 1 ?
Thanks David, great video! RE a soon to be college technical grad, if not Salesforce, what technology/platform do you see is Phase one currently? Or any platform you would recommend to focus on?
David, Thanks for the nice explanation, I've 10+ years of exp in Microsoft technologies (dot net,c#,sql). Does it make sense to move to Salesforce? Which certification will be helpful can you please tell me?
Hi David. Thankyou for sharing the insights on salesforce. It was really helpful. I'm a fresher computer science engineering graduate. Can you suggest the suitable roles in salesforce that a fresher who is new to this domain can learn and take a certification?
Thank you so much for this video. As someone who ended up in the Salesforce ecosystem by sheer luck last year, I have many people reaching out to me. I'm going to start sending all of them to this video, so that I don't have to do all the talking :D Loved your analysis on the growth phase and where Salesforce is on the curve.Helps people put things in perspective before they dive in. Supply vs Demand. Neat way to make use of your Econ degree :)
Him: You know what's not boring about Salesforce? Me: Dreamforce!!!!!!! Hahaha But he is on point on so many things. It's been 7 years for me and got recruited by a company to learn Salesforce right after graduation. Students don't get to expose to it unless recruiters talk. Even then some recruiters don't know much about the software.
So far I answer pretty much every question (though I had to restart my account so older comments got deleted!) This won't go on for long I get so many questions everyday through all channels lol. But honestly right now I really want to promote the channel so I'm putting in the reps!
Love the video David, I've been working in the UK market for 2 years now and I've recently passed my 4th cert (Advanced Admin) Trying to improve my developer skills at the moment to pass Dev 1. Any Advice?
I have a Salesforce interview this week! Your videos are up to date, clear and concise, and humerous. Appreciate all your efforts!!
Thank you Brook 😭😭😭😭 Good luck!!!
Good luck!! Go get em!!
Did you get the job?
Did you get the job? I've wanted to work for this company for years!! Best wishes!
I got hired in an Admin role at just 21 years old. All i had was superbadges and lots of Trailhead hours. Thank you for the motivation David, it’s been life changing.
Did they care about your college degree ?
Chinta koro No, i was currently a jr in college though.
How did y manage to find a job I’m a certified app builder and administrator for summer break of my freshman high school year can you please quote me how to get a job I can provide proof of my certainty if we get in contact my email is kapishsfdc@gmail.com btw I’m not asking for a job I’m just asking we’re to find them
Wow, I'll just do a ton of trailhead stuff lol
How to get suoerbages

Thanks!!!!!

As a newbie in the Salesforce platform, I needed to hear this today!! Thank you for the motivation! Honest and good stuffs...
Hey David
Starting my Salesforce journey in my mid thirties. I stumbled upon this channel and think it’s totally awesome and honest... great stuff.. keep doing the good work👍👍
Mid-thirties here too about to make that move, good luck to you ❤️

I started out as a software engineer, and migrated into development in Salesforce. The transition was a lot less bumpy with the coding experience.
Why ? Is it just for the money ?

Hello 👋 Chirag,
What path did you take???
As one of those new entrants to salesforce, I was nervous about what you were going to be saying, David! I just finished homework number Four today in your second Apex Academy course.
Thank you for your time to make this video!
I'm a front-end developer, so i'm going to give it a try, just for the heck of it
Peace!
Started Salesforce training last week, loving it so far!
Hi did u got job?

Hello there. I am a former Software Engineer that had to become a trucker for some reasons. I never heard before about Salesforce. Only 3 months ago a friend of mine, from university, told me about it. Now I am fighting to get my Admin Certification. See what happens. Thanks for your inspirational videos. Thanks.
Forgot to mention, that already have 68 badges on Trailhead but need more practice before take the test.
Cheers Norberto you got this buddy 👊👊
Learned about Salesforce admins thru Tiktok getting my Trailblazing hours. Expecting the best.

Thanks a lot David for this content. I finally got this question honestly answered for me. I find this video very helpful.
Tope are you into Salesforce?
I am laravel developer and achieved 3000+ points on trailblazer. Will nail it soon and add to my resume
Thank you David for your motivation. Both learning plans are very useful. I'm going to share it in my community
You got this man!
Just awesome. All facts and no rubbish. Thanks man.
Cheers!
Thanks for the video david, I received my first SF admin job last week for 74k in Utah! I still haven't decided which SF path I should choose. There are quite a few; admin, consultant, developer, solution architect etc. Could you make a video on pros and cons of each SF role?
working on profile FLS while watching (listening) to this video! your blog has been super helpful!
Good to see you active on youtube David. Thank you
have been using SFDC myself, thanks for that !! still have my exam to be done, and my first job to be found...
Good stuff as always. Really appreciate this line of quick yet full of information career-related videos. Very useful.
Thanks Dave. U the true inspiration for millions of us out here.
I will check it out. Thanks for the advice David!
David, to my mind, the big challenge is also to compete with overseas talent. Can you also do a video on people eyeing the same position in US from overseas vs local?

Yup! I didn't know how to write a single line of code myself. This starts at the very beginning.

In this day and age, I feel that the biggest skill one needs to have is to use Google properly. Solutions to all the problems are available on Google. Please learn to Google
Hi may i ask what part of Google is phase 1 to learn? Are we talking about Google Docs? Thanks
Just wondering what phase 1 technologies would you look for if you were just starting out? As always love the videos?
Thanks! Phase 1 is always hard to identify but personally I'd go the AI route
It is best.

So what?
Tell me something about your experience bro..
Iam a fresher

Did he get a job with the new skills?
Thank u for your honest opinion.
Great analysis ! Thank you David for what you do !!
Thanks for all the informative vids! Ended up watching all ur vids of u giving opinions on Salesforce as I’ve recently started an internship role as a Salesforce dev
I’m just worried that SF dev skills arent really transferable outside of SF/CRM and if it’s too late to get in now since it’s a phase 2 tech.
Yea for sure. Businesses can't just have interchangeable systems
Thank you for uploading this video!! It helped me to decide if I should choose Salesforce development
Don't choose Salesforce i know it's trending now but after some year's it wouldn't worth .Learn AI ,In coming years AI will come and 60 - 70% people would lose there jobs

David, your video was highly informational, thank you so much. I went back to school and got a BA in Bus. Admin and can’t buy a job right now, thank you again for your advice ❤️
David K. Liu thank you so much 😊
Your thoughts on MS Dynamics? Lots of people are talking about Dynamics overtaking SF's core business in a few years. Dynamics can't beat SF head on but the MS Cloud and the range of their products are very enticing for organizations. MS products integrate very well with the biggest tech platforms meanwhile SF hasn't done a good job integrating some of their biggest acquisitions (Tableau, Mulesoft, etc.).
David, do you believe Microsoft Dynamics will compete and eventually pass Salesforce? If so, should I spend time learning Dynamics?
No, haven't seen any deals lost to it. More likely another competitor will take #2. No idea who that is yet
This was great content! Thanks for your insights, obviously you are a very credible source, so thanks David!
Also, is there a particular module, CPQ, Marketing Cloud, Service Cloud or Sales Cloud that might be the highest in demand for the next few years or so?

Hi David, how does one start learning and becoming accredited in Sales Force?
Check out my Learn Salesforce Fast video!
