ZyroFx for me i’ve been taking my time with this song but i’ve got the whole intro until the first hook 👍🏽👍🏽 i literally built a callus on my thumb 😂😂😂
dunno if anyone will see this, but 6 yrs ago when this was first uploaded, I thought I could never play as flawless as this, but now it's been 2 yrs since I've last played the guitar. I picked it up and attempted to play this again, and muscle memory didn't fail me. I could now play this flawlessly. So for those starting, don't give up. It's very worth it. I was once in your shoes too and I sucked, but now I can play this even without looking at the strings :)
I did the same thing and if your struggling you should drop it practice other things get better at guitar in general and you you learn the intro before you know it
I've been playing guitar for 25 years and I know the secret to playing the fingerpicking intro of this song. Never remove your index finger from the first fret of the b string. It's the anchor that all the chord patterns revolve around.
Easy guys, practices make perfect. I also feel the same when first time played. Play everyday & slowly practices. Trust me, in 2 weeks you can see your improvement. Good luck.
Exactly. Seeing him do it so quickly, with ease, shouldn't demotivate you. It took me roughly 20 minutes before I could start playing half of it properly.

I don’t understand why anyone would give a thumbs down to any of his videos. You are by far one of the best guitar teachers on the Internet. I tried to learn this solo from other teachers with no luck. You take your time with each section and are very clear about right and left hand technique. Your playing is amazing. Thank you so very much.
Mannnn😣....how nice it would be if he's still with us here...and teaches us all the new songs like this!!!😞... Everytime i watch his tutorial videos....I'm missing him so much💯
started learning this 3 days ago, I'm going to try to give updates every day! Day 1- learnt the first bar, my fingers were shredded as I'm using an electric guitar (its all I have atm) Day 2- learnt first 3 bars, lots of practising. My fingers just feel bruised at the moment but I'm really enjoying it! Day 3- Nothing new really, played quite a lot, learnt another easier song, just going over it at 0.5x speed, then 0.75, then full speed. Day 4- My fingers don't hurt! Well, not as badly. Finally finished all 4 bars and now its just practice practice practice. I'm trying to get rid of those awkward gaps between each section as i find the chord position. I also need to improve accuracy, making sure each note rings clear. I love this way of playing so so much, my brother played it to me which is what made me want to learn and I just think its one of the prettiest sounds I've ever heard. It makes me feel like I am home. (background information) I have played piano seriously for 5 years, and recently picked up ukulele and learnt a few songs on that. Before 4 days ago I have never played a guitar before, so if I can do it, a complete beginner- SO CAN YOU!!
@@MusaKhan-rn3mn Practice!! Try and really work on the timing, and making those chord transitions super fast- sometimes it helped me to just sit and do the chord transitions over and over. But yeah keep at it and youll get it amazing :)
Something I recommend for any guitarists struggling (this applies to all songs). If you’re struggling with a specific part, take your time and practice only that part before moving on to the next part. This sounds simple but it will help you sound better when you know how to play each part separately until you can join them as a song. Hope this helps.
I watched this Video then I bought my guitar 2 days later. At first I struggled to learn this piece, but I kept on practicing and never gave up. It took me more than a month to learn this piece.... THAT WAS 4 YEARS AGO. Now this song is part of my 12 song set at my gig. NEVER STOP DREAMING. THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS TOO LATE! LEARN WHILE YOU STILL CAN, NEVER GIVE UP.
Honestly it's a good and thorough tutorial, but sometimes i just wish you somehow better displayed what you were saying, when you stumble on on saying 2nd string 4th fret and correct yourself in the middle or something like that, its easy to get lost, ive been rewinding this trying to learn the whole thing for over a week now, im really thankful for this
It's not the best tutorial but all the notes are right I know alot of guitar teachers on youtube edit out when they say the wrong fret/string etc for simplicity but as a person who's taught a few people to play in person when you're explaining it and trying to show it at the same time it's easy to get ahead of yourself G flat is just an F sharp backwards This has nothing to do with the video just leaving it here to confuse the beginners ;)
Yesterday I nearly gave up on this song...but I kept going and it’s only the next day and I can play through this whole riff! Obviously not as fast as the original track but don’t give up guys it’s worth it!
been playing for 20 years with rock/punk focus, dust in the wind, plain white tees, and hotel california as the extent of my finger picking adventures, this was a challenge - a lot of breaks for frustrating finger placements/transitions that I'm not use to, but day 2 I have the basic scope of the song, now on to refining the flow and making sure the root notes ring. Anyone coming in here as a beginner, its just as hard for us experienced folks so keep at it and thank you for the detailed video
For the ppl with small hands that struggle with the thumb in the intro just play open 5th string instead. It doesn’t sound the exact same but pretty close to it
A little over a year ago, I performed at my school's talent show, and this song was in the setlist. I would like to say thank you for posting guitar tutorials, especially this video. My classmates really liked the show, and a video is posted on my channel if anyone is interested. You can tell they are impressed when I play this song. If you are currently watching this tutorial, I wish you luck. It is not easy, but if I can do it, you can too.

Well I’m glad to announce, after a long painful (mostly for the thumb) process, I have finally completely learned how to play this song. It’s possible so just keep at it! Just imagine how impressed people will be when you play this for them
Back when i started learning the guitar 2 years ago i tried this song and i couldnt learn it for the life of me. It was so hard i wanted to break my guitar. After playing for 2 years or so (mainly electric) I decided to come back to this song. Learned it in 20 minutes. It might not be for you now but dont think that youll never learn it. Just take a break and go learn a few new songs then come back to it when youre better equiped in your guitar technique and you will learn it eventually. To get my thumb more used to being used I actually started playing a lot of songs with my thumb. I actually learned how to play all of master of puppets using my thumb on the low string whenever possible. This song was a breeze and i barely felt it at all coming back to it. Just take any simple song, like even the bass part of heart and soul, and just try playing it with your thumb instead.
That intro is so beautiful and melodious, Love it. Also I just hope that you're doing well and this is just an unusually long break you're taking from TH-cam.
Low-key I was completely dreading learning this song because it always sounded so hard. But now I'm kicking myself in the head for not learning it sooner thank you so much for clear and concise instructions!

TICK TOCK TICK TOCK TICK TOCK.........
Im a beginner and this is the first song i decided to learn. At first, i was like "no way I'll be able to play that" but Im proud to say that I was able to learn that in less than a week. Don't underestimate yourself, if I was able to learn that (as a complete beginner), you'll be able too for sure, just need some motivation. Also, thank you for that amazing tutorial !! :)
For those who are having a hard time learning this one I recommend learning Blackbird and Home (Phillip Phillips) first. Iv'e only been playing for 6 months and besides the pinky hammer part this song is actually pretty easy for me.
Bro I played it and can say after half an hour that I can do the first part relatively okay I don't give up even if I felt like I broke my thumb seventeen times. Thank you very much for the good tutorial.
For those of you having a hard time with the thumb placement, tune the 6th string up one and you no longer need to use your thumb at all. It's a night and day difference. So much easier. You'll just have to adjust accordingly for the other part of the song that uses the 6th string but that's easy.
I’ve been playing guitar for a year and I got this down in less than an hour. Just stay consistent with your playing and eventually every song will be easy to learn🙏
The neck of my guitar is too short to be able to wrap my thumb around like that, so I just tune the 6th string up one, and play the rest of the intro accordingly (so if I need to play the 3rd fret on 6th string, I would place my finger on 2nd fret). Works fine and sounds cleaner if you can't get your thumb around!
To anyone who's saying this tutorial is "confusing" or "hard to follow", I'm gonna have to disagree. This guy is going as SLOW AND SIMPLE as possible. He's not speaking in music theory, and he's re-iterating the steps OVER AND OVER, VERY SLOW. This is an absolute BEGINNER's guitar tutorial. I hate to say it, but if you're confused, just get better. It's not the fault of this tutorial if you can't follow.
@KJż. You also kinda missed the point of the comment, he said "To anyone who's saying this tutorial is 'confusing' or 'hard to follow', not to people who say it's hard for their fingers.
I don't know when you're going to see this, but pls, the 2nd part is private. I need that part. I've finished this already. You can't do this to me man.
Learned almost all of the first three parts now! At first it seems impossible but I found it was helpful to focus on short bits in each part and slowly move on. By the second week you can actually start here something similar to the song if you practice a bit every day! Great tutorial just be patient and take the time to learn :)
Also, it may be tempting to try and "cheat" and take the easier route but trust me, you'll learn in 5 minutes of trying an easier way that it's harder to make it sound smooth and taking the 5 extra minutes to learn the harder is well worth it
Part one and two finally learned. Now comes the refining stage to get them sewn together to sound like one. You make the transitioning between notes look way too easy lol.
I picked up a guitar for the first time 3 1/2 weeks ago and I just learned this today! It probably took me 3 hours to memorize everything and I’m still doing it under tempo but that will go away with practice! Idk if I’m a fast learner or you’re a great teacher but that’s awesome! Love this song Edit: I learned it fully and can do it blindfolded and on different frets and strings! Took a week in total to get it down
After hours of practice, I can safely say that I finally managed to count to 7 and put capo on 7th fret. Looks good.

It only happened 1 year of buying my first guitar and i wanted to learn this song and today i made it!!! 🎉 guys never give up on your dream😊
thank u for making this guitar tutorial of My favorite song Let her go ....now I have learned and L can play it ...thank you
Im a beginner and this is the first song i decided to learn.
Thankyou sirrr , this is the best teacher of guitar tutorial in TH-cam so far, learning more and more each day by watching your video .
Thank you for making such a perfect lesson, please continue teaching us XD
Great tutorial and its freaking hard lol!
I finally LEARNed it
Thanku bro
I wish where ever u are
U r happy 🤧
For those who are having a hard time learning this one I recommend learning Blackbird and Home (Phillip Phillips) first. Iv'e only been playing for 6 months and besides the pinky hammer part this song is actually pretty easy for me.
He haven’t posted videos since 4yrs…I hope he is okay n start posting videos again in the future…
He is no more in this cruel world💔
@@lamazii2012he died
I can do the finger picking part...at the speed of -200
What about now?
Speed is scalar, -200 makes no sense. Learn physics, because I am smarter than you and just can't help looking smart
@@deadalpeca8099 you maybe are smarter than him but at least he is not using drugs (unlike you)
Stop roasting
@@deadalpeca8099 dude it's an exaggeration, Jesus ur dumb
Song so fire, it's making his strings glow red! 🔥
My thumb is physically breaking trying to get it on that first fret...lol
meee too lmao
You will get use to it
the same here hahaha
cant feel my thumb anymore
It's been a year Bailey, how is the thumb now?
best guitar tutorial😋😋
Thanks Bryan!
I can play guitar because of you man 😆😆 thanks btw
+Bryan Exel That is so true!
Motion seconded
Bro I played it and can say after half an hour that I can do the first part relatively okay I don't give up even if I felt like I broke my thumb seventeen times. Thank you very much for the good tutorial.
For those of you having a hard time with the thumb placement, tune the 6th string up one and you no longer need to use your thumb at all. It's a night and day difference. So much easier. You'll just have to adjust accordingly for the other part of the song that uses the 6th string but that's easy.
you just saved me cause my hands are too small for this shit
Thank you for that - same problem - small hands - unable to wrap my hand around the neck at the 3rd fret, let alone the 7th
Tune it how far up tho? I'm sorry, still unsure

You saved me from giving up ❤

I’ve been playing guitar for a year and I got this down in less than an hour.
Just stay consistent with your playing and eventually every song will be easy to learn🙏

Hitting the like button for this is so small. I would have invited you for dinner for such beautiful tutorial .
Thank you
The neck of my guitar is too short to be able to wrap my thumb around like that, so I just tune the 6th string up one, and play the rest of the intro accordingly (so if I need to play the 3rd fret on 6th string, I would place my finger on 2nd fret). Works fine and sounds cleaner if you can't get your thumb around!
This was insanely easy because of how you teach it. Love it! Keep it up my dude!
I can follow him but sometimes it's confusing but Im trying my best😊
@KJż. You also kinda missed the point of the comment, he said "To anyone who's saying this tutorial is 'confusing' or 'hard to follow', not to people who say it's hard for their fingers.
Agree.
Also, it may be tempting to try and "cheat" and take the easier route but trust me, you'll learn in 5 minutes of trying an easier way that it's harder to make it sound smooth and taking the 5 extra minutes to learn the harder is well worth it
tysm for ur words mate
I’m only doing this for the:
“Hey! Leaver her alone” TIK TOK lol
Your gross

Part one and two finally learned. Now comes the refining stage to get them sewn together to sound like one. You make the transitioning between notes look way too easy lol.
Thankyou for such a great lesson now just by some more practice I will be able to play this song..
Miss this guy

I've been laughing at this for 30 mins
Thanks
I picked up a guitar for the first time 3 1/2 weeks ago and I just learned this today! It probably took me 3 hours to memorize everything and I’m still doing it under tempo but that will go away with practice! Idk if I’m a fast learner or you’re a great teacher but that’s awesome! Love this song
Edit: I learned it fully and can do it blindfolded and on different frets and strings! Took a week in total to get it down
