Just want to say a massive "thank you" for your content - going through a dark patch at the moment, but your relaxed and humorous Advanced HeroQuest videos have cheered me up immensely (to the point where it's inspired me to get my own AHQ set! I will definitely be doing another Advanced Heroquest playthrough on the channel. I had a lot of fun with the last one. However, I want to make sure I have everything all painted up first.

They are three excellent characters. The Del Boy comparison was the first thing I made when I saw Jobie. The Tax Collector is excellent. It tickles me that the one female goblin we have gotten it the only one that is utterly reliable. Apparently she had a romantic fling with El Capitano in her youth, something that she completely denies to this day as that would not be appropriate behavioir for a reapectable goblin. Pete is a great controller model, and he pairs up well with the Goblin King for moonstone manipulation. Funny thing, he isn't actually fat, he just wears fat armour for storage and intimidation purposes.
As I don't play competitively my forces are a combination of nice synergies, characters I like, and thematic connections. Immediately, I'm thinking I want to run The Tax Collector, Goblin King, Jobie, Portly Pete, Doug the Flatulent, and the Mortician. That seems like a fun group with a lot of skills that allow for scooping up, moving, and protecting Moonstones. Just need that Mortician.
@@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring that would be an excellent troupe. I don't play competitively either. I'm just trying to build balanced and fun troupes for a bunch of different keywords. Unfortunately that means I'll just have to collect everything.
@@jasonnewell7036 It’s so tempting to get it all, isn’t it? Even though I am mainly sticking to goblins I have a few other things and I can’t see myself being able to resist the shades.
@@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring yep. I'll be going all in on shades. I've got a good chunk of the models already. All the goblins except the airship and flamespitter, all the gnomes except the airship, all the fauns, the three witches, all the dominion humans, about half the commonwealth humans, all the trolls, all the giants except Loubard, and the Jackalope. I think that's all of them. Most of them are painted, too. I just recently finished Gotchgut the giant and the Goblin King.
They have a Kickstarter coming up for the new source book, at the end of summer, and that's when they will launch the new faction. You can be sure I will be reporting on that as it gets closer and they release more information.
Oh no... Now you have gone and done it. I love the minis and the game looks like its quite fun and comical at times. Just so you know, I am blaming you for the purchases I am going to be making if I can find this game in the US. lol.
It's a really fun game. They have been making more of a push for the American market of late and there are definitely US-based online retailers that stock it, so you shouldn't have too much difficulty hunting some down. I bypassed the starter set when I got into the game, but if you want a solid start with everything you need, the starter set is really good.
Del-Boy? Like "Only Fools and Horses" Del Boy? I only recently started watching that. I must say, I miss the old grand dad, but Uncle Albert is so charming too!
Yeah, Jobie is dressed just like Del Boy, even down to the initial necklace. The death of the actor who played Grandad was very sad, and the introduction of Uncle Albert was strange at first; but Buster Merryfield did such a great job he very quickly won me over.
Jobie with the "Splats" like he was just machine-gunned is hilarious!
It's a really funny miniature. He's definitely having a bad day.
