- Tiger Woods is set to return to competitive golf at the PNC Championship on December 18th alongside his son Charlie Woods. This will be the first competitive event for Tiger since his single car crash in February. Tiger and Charlie finished seventh at last year's event and will be looking to improve on that performance. Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe weigh on Tiger's speedy recovery and what to expect from him and Charlie at the PNC Championship.

You were both right about the 08 US Open. He played the whole event with the torn ACL AND the stress fracture, which he sustained while rehabbing the ACL.
I wouldn't have been surprised if he had gotten an amputation and a replacement and still came back to win something big. Dude is a great inspiration as a father and man

Its not very physical but the toll it takes on there hips and lower back is pretty big constant swinging/rotating of his hips and back with force can cause problems over time forsure and yea he wasnt the best off the course either

Idk if you've played golf much, but there's a ton of torque on your front knee and lower back especially at his swing speeds. It's not as violent a sport as football or hockey obviously, but repeating that swing motion probably hundreds of thousands of times in a 20+ year career will definitely take its toll.
Mainly due to Tiger's intense training. At his peak, dude was training as if he was a Navy Seal.
Tiger never doubted himself. He is strong in his faith. No other explanation.

I think Tiger has been intentionally underselling himself with his recent announcements. I don’t doubt he has a ways to go and will play a limited schedule from here on out. But I think he’s much closer than he’s letting on. He’s always loved to toy with people and keep people them guessing. Can’t wait to watch it.

Someone else has already said this. I'm quite sure anyone with a child knows this too. His biggest motivation was Charlie. Any father knows this. Playing golf with your son is so life affirming. It's the only reason Tiger needed... period. Being out there with his little buddy. Not being able to do that for the next 20+ years or so would have devastated Tiger. Now everything else is secondary to Tiger. He's accomplished the only thing any father would want. Being there for their boy. I'm not saying he didn't do this for his daughter as well. It was equally important for his motivation for her as well. Just making the point from the golfing perspective only. Tiger obviously puts Golf 1st from what the game brought him in life.

Not really wow... the real wow is that he was never given a drug or field sobriety test especially considering that this is his second wreck of this kind (high speeds, no break ever applied, only thing that stopped him was crashing into something) the last time was because he passed out while driving due to being strung out on pain medications which sounds exactly like what this was

PNC is NOT competitive golf! Real events you can't ride a cart. I admire that his son was looking forward to the father/son moment! He will admit this is an exhibition! He won't play until he hits the senior tour where they can ride carts! Way over-hyped!
I have always liked Tiger. But Tiger has been his own worst enemy for the last 10 years. He truly had a chance not to only have many more major's that Jack but push golf numbers to hand in head disbelief. I will say im glad he's ok and wish him nothing but the best.

Cutting to the truth, his former swing instructor, Hank Haney, kept telling Tiger to take a break and get things straight at home. Tiger kept pushing to get back to work. That is why they went their separate ways. Now, his legs are half what they used to be and he has pins, screws, and plates everywhere. He will never win another pro tournament. Sorry man....
