This song is actually really deep psychologically. The need for approval, the need to be loved by other people, to be famous, to be a star is such a monster, it turns you to a worm.
2021. I can't believe this is my first time hearing this masterpiece and encountering Michelle Gurevich. I feel like I'm stuck in a Post-Soviet trance and it feels good.
Dire que cette merveille existe depuis 12 ans et que je ne découvre ça qu'aujourd'hui ! Mais je vais rattraper le temps perdu et l'écouter encore et encore....
I was painting and listening to deezer flow. The the first notes, I said to myself « oh an early The Cure I don’t know yet » and then her voice !!!! For sure not Robert Smith, then I looked at my screen and discovered her name, and I realise it’s a woman voice !!! I have been shocked by such warmth, deepness, incredible !!!! It touched me direct to the heart !!! Thanks god she wrote and sang that song ! Thank you thank you thank you Michelle
I discovered this song while watching PARTY GIRL at the cinema. I launched Shazam beacuse I've been instantly struck with this track. So I got the whole album and, well, it's simply amazing. I love it from beginning to end. Each track has a precise reason to be. I guess it's one of the best albums I've listened to recently, even if I foiund out it's been released in 2008. Beautiful.
this song while its supposed to be about partying, has a really sad feel to it. its like she is trying to convince herself that she is having fun while shes just looking for an escape from all her problems or her traumas. It kinda reminds me of mitsuko souma..
Cheers to that first time I've listened to this song; mesmerized by the tone with two of my best friends, sitting idly - and slightly drunk- on living room sofa... Terrific song.
This song is a masterpiece, is so deep it makes me feel terrible; I even can not listen to it till the end. I feel all my muted negative emotions, which I'd love not to have. These feelings are bursting through me and expose my inner self, which has been neglected for many years. Such an explosion of unconsciousness in just 4:39 minutes.
Comme je vous aime Madame , Je vous écoute depuis quelques années, tout me parle vos mots, votre rythme , vos sons, et surtout Madame qui vous etes. J aime vos textes . Love ❤
Heard this ant the some other Michelle's songs in the "Fuga" movie, made by Agneszka Smoczyńska, i'm glad that she put Michelle's songs in her film, for the people to know.
It doesn't matter What you create If you have no fun Pretty girl Put down your pen Come over here I'll show you how its done I can dance, I can drink In the dark It's all a trick Across the room, across the street I'm in the moment Can't you see I'm a party girl Do a twirl See my eyes, throw a glance Can't you see I'm a natural Life of a party girl, funny girl Make you laugh, want me bad Now I feel so much better In the back Of a car I just met them tonight and I feel like such a star What's your name What's your art Nobody knows About my broken heart Yes I'm a party girl Crazy girl See my lips, how they move Can't you see I'm a natural Life of a party girl Sexy girl I used to be so fragile But now I'm so wild What did you do last night? Oh, I was out so late, now I'm so tired What did you do last night? Oh, I was out so late, now I'm so tired I'm a party girl Do a twirl See my eyes, throw a glance Can't you see I'm a natural Life of a party girl, funny girl Make you laugh want me bad Now I feel so much better I used to cry But now I don't have the time I used to be so fragile But now I'm so wild I used to cry But now I don't have the time I used to be so fragile but now I'm so wild So wild
Anyone else feeling like this is (in most flattering compliment possible) entire aesthetic, a very female equivalent to Steve Albini's work? Great stuff!
I hope tik tok never find this
"Whats your name? what's your art? Nobody knows about my broken heart"
Best line ever!
"I used to cry,but now I don't have the time" great line
2020 ??? this song is amazing
This song is actually really deep psychologically. The need for approval, the need to be loved by other people, to be famous, to be a star is such a monster, it turns you to a worm.
That feels so gotic and deep and so... femme melancholy. It's pure poetry!
"I used to cry but now I don't have the time. I used to be so fragile but now I'm so wild" Uff! I love her! ♥

Stumbled on this song on Spotify... wow.... hypnotised... beautifully melancholic...
last 3 days listening
All those years, and now this song hits even more now. I fell in love with those hopeless lines combined with rather upright music. Masterpiece.
She is like a female Lou Reed!! Lyrics are great and music follows the intensity of that shattered heart. This is pure art!
Why is this talent so underrated? I can never understand that.
2021. I can't believe this is my first time hearing this masterpiece and encountering Michelle Gurevich. I feel like I'm stuck in a Post-Soviet trance and it feels good.
I was a teenager when I first head it and still is one of my favorite songs. It touches a really deep part in me.
Her ruh halimde bana eşlik eden mükemmel etkileyici şarkı.
Bu şarkıyı dinliyosan, müthiş bi zevkin var, tebrik ederim:)
A young party girl I just met made me listen to this, it is truly a very special piece.

Superbe dans son rôle impossible de retrouver cette artiste en ligne
What a butterfly, hhanges her looks all the time. Here Isabella Rossellini comes to mind... what a voice! Bravo!
Siane Gallozzi I thought of Isabella Rossellini too! I imagined her character in blue velvet.

It doesn't matter
What you create
If you have no fun
Pretty girl
Put down your pen
Come over here
I'll show you how its done
I can dance, I can drink
In the dark
It's all a trick
Across the room, across the street
I'm in the moment
Can't you see
I'm a party girl
Do a twirl
See my eyes, throw a glance
Can't you see I'm a natural
Life of a party girl, funny girl
Make you laugh, want me bad
Now I feel so much better
In the back
Of a car
I just met them tonight and I feel like such a star
What's your name
What's your art
Nobody knows
About my broken heart
Yes I'm a party girl
Crazy girl
See my lips, how they move
Can't you see I'm a natural
Life of a party girl
Sexy girl
I used to be so fragile
But now I'm so wild
What did you do last night?
Oh, I was out so late, now I'm so tired
What did you do last night?
Oh, I was out so late, now I'm so tired
I'm a party girl
Do a twirl
See my eyes, throw a glance
Can't you see I'm a natural
Life of a party girl, funny girl
Make you laugh want me bad
Now I feel so much better
I used to cry
But now I don't have the time
I used to be so fragile
But now I'm so wild
I used to cry
But now I don't have the time
I used to be so fragile but now I'm so wild
So wild
thank you!
It doesn't matter what you create if you have no fun.
