DX12 is bad in Battlefield games, DX11 works better

If only Nvidia had dropped this ray tracing shit the 2080ti would be something else. It is a powerful gpu indeed until you enable raytracing. Sure we are advancing in tech but i think raytracing for now is not necessary. Especially at 4k with all types of AA enabled. Nice video man. what are you using to keep your temperature on the 8700k in check? Did you delid? or never mind about the cooler. just read your description now.
Early adopter problems.
I'm glad they are taking the first step towards ray tracing. Considering the necessity for dedicated hardware we were never going to get perfect raytracing out of nowhere. If anything, this is all happening quicker than expected. (long term)
As for it not being necessary, well neither is 4k or "Ultra" settings. Both of those have easily as much of an issue with deminishing returns as raytracing currently, and raytracing has a much higher ceiling for potential.
True so i guess we are starting all over again. I guess we are back to 1080p60 max settings + ray tracing. Maybe after 10 years we will get to 1440p 144hz ultra + ray tracing lol

Screw AA or any other unnecessary crap. Try HDR 10 and see if it affects the FPS.

I still like my 21:9 better but if my 4K screen was bigger than 28" and had a 120Hz refresh rate then it would be a hard choice

I've building a similar rig to you and the only thing left to get is the monitor... I want a minimum of 120Hz, 4k, ultrawide... but for $1000 (instead of $2000) I can get all that but in 1440p.. I'm torn!
@El diablo da Costa think it depends on the game. I like to play shooters in 16:9, but open world rpg 21:9. Also a 16:9 monitor allow you to do both :p you just have to use custom resolution in nvidia control panel, works great. i've been doing this for years.

The ti is now called the Titan, and I only buy the ti's, so the next architecture I will drop to the 80 variants, as this line up is far from impressive.
I have 2 x 1080ti custom and i get about the same fps mark , now i invested more the a 2080ti so idk if i did the right call.

It's not necessary but It's part of the ultra preset. The settings I use in my videos are different from when I play personally.
TAA isn't necessary? Are we playing the same game?
There is glare from specular highlights everywhere with TAA off on my game. That has nothing to do with resolution. It's a rendering issue.
That said, TAA is pretty great in BF1 though, so I don't think it's much of an issue.

@Yes No stuttering and frame dropping? I suposse you have never use a Rycen, Rycen owners talk about a very smooth experience in games, better than with their "old" quad core i7s, even with a few less fps in average, which is not the most important thing

The performance difference from 980ti-1080ti-2080ti is the same or even worse... and this with over 150% price increase.

So, just the cost of the GPU, CPU, and a decent 4k monitor is essentially a down payment on a new car. hahaha, definitely not a bang for your buck.
I think you need to understand the word first. Bang for buck does not mean cheap, it means getting the most out of the individuals money. To do that you first need to establish the persons needs and budget. Are you assuming we all have the same needs and budget ?
