Hello guys! I made this video a while ago because I couldn't find a cute lyrics video back then. I took the lyrics from a site because I couldn't decide what she was saying, I added annotations to correct some of the errors but since the 2nd of May 2018 they are no longer available! I added the lyrics in the description as well, but that's all I can do at the moment! Sorry :)
Thank you because this is actually amazing, helping us to understand clearly the lyrics and trying to make better, for free. People often forget that gifts are free and there is nothing to complain about. Thank you
It's crazy to me that I was jammin massive attack over 10 years ago and never heard this. It's so hot. I wonder what else I've been missing. Thank you for the video
"There remains a mirror, on the hall wall. If I turn my head so that the white wings framing my face direct my vision towards it, I can see it as I go down the stairs, round, convex, a pier glass, like the eye of a fish, and myself in it like a distorted shadow, a parody of something, some fairy-tale figure in a red cloak, descending towards a moment of carelessness that is the same as danger. A Sister, dipped in blood." - Margaret Atwood, the Handmaid's Tale
Ok...I thought she was saying "But we like it when we're spinning in his GRIN." And "when we feel a STONE, we roll over... (like who would roll over because a STORM feels uncomfortable? (YOU ARE HILARIOUS!!!) A MASTERPIECE either way!
You got the lyrics wrong in multiple spots. Spinning in his GRIN love is black as sin my love Its u fortunate that when we feel a STONE we can roll over...
I really, REALLY wanted to like this song. Musically, it’s on point. I love the creepy “walking through the empty carnival fairgrounds at night” vibe. But Hope’s voice... it sounds like such a dishonest affectation, as if she seems to be thinking, “Here’s me trying way too hard to be breathy and sensual” instead of just singing without the forced, lingering enunciation of the last sound in each word. It’s like the adage, “If you try to be cool, you won’t be,” with “sexy” replacing “cool” in that adage. I like her voice in other songs, but as I’m mining for sounds and just rolling up my sleeves for a deeper go at Massive Attack, I’m flummoxed by the weakness of the vocal conceit. Hope - you have a terrific voice. If you just spoke-sang this without trying to be overly breathy, I’d wear out this song on my headphones.

Massive attack is one of those bands that makes people feel euphoric, aroused, depressed, inspired, and nauseous from anxiety all at the same time.
Wow. These lyrics are super relevant to the time.
Luther anyone?
Love the music of Massive Attack... ❤️

🔥🔥🔥
Love it
Isn't it "stone" not "storm"? That's why we roll over to get comfortable. Because we were laying on a stone.
