@@motorradjim thanks! I can't take credit though. I fell into a interwebs black hole one day, got lucky and stumbled across it. Since my bike still isn't running I'm not even sure I have a '64. Just a frustrating paperweight.
I just love a magneto on an old Sportster. To 99% of bikers magnetos are Voodoo Science. In reality they are very reliable and simple. Great channel buddy.
@@johnranallo424 the more I learn about this old bike the more it feels like I'm privy to some great secret. Thanks for stopping by and thanks for the compliment!
I've heard the same. So much of what's on these old bikes seems to be bulletproof. A lot of what I'm replacing/"fixing" is just trying to give myself a little piece of mind. And spare parts.
Finding Easy Keys was definitely a nice little bit of good luck with all the little things that have been going on with this bike. My magneto is fixed.
@@averageguyadventures As you keep getting further into this bike be aware I have a decent accumulation of early Sportster stuff (and live on the west side of Cleveland) so if you’re looking for something might not hurt it check with me.

Thanks for posting the ironhead content👍🏼
Thanks for watching it!
Thanks for the sporty mag video, and so cool to have a hawk family so very close.
You're very welcome.
And I'll admit I had my trepidations when we moved in but they've been good neighbors.
Good tip on Easy Keys and removing lock. I also have a'64.

I've also heard that magnetos don't go 'bad'. Just having them re-magnetized is a common way to treat old mags.

Nice you got the key for the magneto. Is your magneto “fixed” or can you move it with the left grip? Keep the videos coming!
