    PLEASE READ! ➡ MAKE sure you buy coolant You'll spill alot more then a quart and Be careful when you take everything off, you will have gaskets on everything being removed! Also, This should be the same process for the MAZDASPEED 6 AND CX-7.

    This is a great video, and I would like to add- if someone had worked on that tube and bent it from one end, it will be horrendous to remove it this time. You'll have to jam a wrench to prevent the flare fitting from rotating, and turn the tube itself. Take wrench off, rotate the tube back to start, and place wrench back on and repeat. Install wasn't a breeze either cause now the EGR side is not perfectly lined up. Need to pry and get one 8mm and then the other. I don't feel happy for the next guy who does this.
    Also the repair should have included spraying the mating side of the EGR cause that will be equally filled with spaceship black cement.

    Hey bro love the video. Quick question. My mazda 3 mps is blowing white smoke and losing coolant instantly. Slight missfire as coolant going in combustion. overheating also. Do you think the egr cooler or valve is not good, Causing coolant to go into the intake. Or head gasket. Let me know what think bro thank you.

    was a reason to do all this? or is any benefit ?
    See I have a 09 MS3 but honestly my idle is really poor and even when the weather is really cool idle is 500 rpm or less normally on cool weather should be 1500 rpm or 2k to warm the engine but my is poor idle do you think this will improve my idle?

    • @Luminary_Industries

      No cel? Could be a number of things. Egr may be the cause, or it may be vtcs. With out more specifics; it can be a bit tough to give a possible solution. You have this as a reference and can knock it out. Any other questions feel free to ask. Goodluck.

    • @Luminary_Industries

      You can, but i would say that b12 Chem can be a bit stronger. I would still purchase one, and you can go over it with the tb cleaner.

      You can use it, but I'd still recommend the b12 Chem. I'd say it's better at tackling the carb build-up and so on. Then you can go over it with tb cleaner.

    So when you disconnect the coolant hoses from the EGR, will only a quart spill out, or will it continue to flow until the system drains completely?

    • @Luminary_Industries
      @Luminary_Industries  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mike Last name it'll actually continue to spill. More then a qt. So make sure you buy a whole coolant jug. Keep in mind when you disconnect the hoses on the throttle body. It'll throw coolant out as well. Have a pan of some sort underneath.

    How to clean egr on mzr disi 2.3l engine:
    Delete it...

    • @Luminary_Industries
      @Luminary_Industries  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well some folks like having stock parts connected and installed. Theres individuals that prefer to leave it as is, though it is an option to delete it, which is why they have egr block off plates or just unplug it. No need to even remove it unless; one wants to remove weight. This owner chose to keep it. It was shared though. Thanks for the feed back!

    • @thatmps6_guy748
      @thatmps6_guy748 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Luminary_Industries it has nothing to do with weight. Your egr has to do with fuel economy, but because it recirculates your exhaust back into your intake manifold it gums up for intake valve and decreases the performance of your engine, and can result in catastrophic failure of your engine.
      Why clean it when you can get rid of the problem altogether?
      Cars are made from the factory to be more economic, but many of the things they do to cars' engines inhibit them and cause them to need more through maintenance, and because the mzr disi is direct injection, it makes it that much harder to maintain.
      Just my input, not necessarily scripture

    • @Luminary_Industries
      @Luminary_Industries  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@thatmps6_guy748 I am well aware of the purpose of this unit, and its known factor towards the valves, which is why I recommend intake valve cleaning. Also, Not everyone likes to remove their parts nor modify their vehicle. This owner for this car was told about the ability of removing or unplugging. And was aware of the loop. And it does weigh, everything has weight to it including yourself, and some folks remove it due to that as they do ac and so forth. Everyone has their opinion and preference. Just as you have yours, which consists of removing it. Yeah it solves the issue, but it goes back to each individual's preference. Just like some like to workout and hit the gym and some dont or like some enjoy hiking which has therapeutic value and some don't due too other opinions and or preference or some vote and some don't, because it "won't" make a difference. To each their own. Thank you again. ❤

      It's mainly for emissions. The owner of this vehicle did not want too remove it as she wanted to stay stock. The egr tends create carbon build up over time, and well need service, but for those that have "race car" its beneficial to remove it.
