I was never a country music listener, and still don't seek it out, but I know the words to every Shania Twain single. Here in Canada, she's like music royalty. When I was in middle school, my best friend's older sister was such an avid fan of Shania's, that she would fall asleep to the Come On Over album playing on repeat. Every sleepover we had, I could hear the songs through the wall as she didn't sleep with headphones on. Even last night, driving home in the dark through the rain, Shania came on the radio to carry me home. She's a dynamo lady with a genuine laugh and a heart of gold. Glad to see her making an overdue return to the spotlight.

look, I'm a guy and for all. you who are saying she looks different...She is well into her 50's and the pressure on women in entertainment to remain conventionally "sexy" to all ages is, I would imagine, overwhelming. She employs tens of people who depend on her maintaining a "look". She seems happy and that is all I can hope for her. She is a creative giant who seems as genuine as they come. She is also still so innocent - all her closet and bathroom comments were giggled by the fans, but she was not thinking that way. She is a real survivor given her story, and as a man I can say I have no idea the pressures she is under to stay thin, look unwrinkled and flawless. I wish female artists were held to the same standard as males like Clooney and Pitt who are allowed to get old but look their age doing it. As a woman myself, in my 50s, I don’t see it as being under pressure to have to look unwrinkled and slender, it is a privilege to do so, we do it for ourselves, for our own well being and happiness. We do it to make ourselves feel good, because looking good feels great ! And Shania looks fabulous, she’s always been a beauty….aging gracefully

i grew up in Malaysia and 20 year ago i was 14-15 just mesmerized by Shania. Shes talented beautiful and probably the greatest singer of our generation.
Although she was born in Windsor, we used to joke that her name was an acronym for Timmins Woman Always In (the) News. It was meant as a compliment to her career longevity. We cheered when Lionel Ritchie coaxed her out of hiatus and got her singing again. Good to see her revitalized and full of energy and enthusiasm once more.
She looks slightly different, but still gorgeous. It's been almost 20 years since I saw her in concert here in Oslo and no-one escapes time (and aging). Been a fan of her since 1995(ish) and was super chuffed to be able to watch her and her crew live before she put her music career on hold. Glad to have her back and with new material ❤️.

I think he's more famous for his music, but he's probably the highest profile user of a very big niche product. It's still weird seeing a person with so many face tattoos (imho bad/terrible, but it's his face!) and having them not try to bite people when they get targeted in game. He seems very much like a normal guy, which is probably a big part of the appeal, most people want male pop stars that are somehow larger than life while being intensely unimpressive, male pop idols are supposed to be related to, while girls were supposed to be resentful of the ridiculous expectations that female pop idols catered to, at least that's how it used to be. Girl pop stars like Britney had to be quite pretty and stay overly thin while male stars were hyper-relatable average joe types like justin timberlake. Back to Postie's tattoos, I remember thinking tattoos were cool when I was a kid, but I remember seeing older people with them and they lost a ton of appeal very quickly. I still have an appreciation for tattoos that I think either have actual cultural significance (which is not the case modern white western culture, Christianity traditionally has a low view of body modification) or that are visually quite stunning.

It was a lot cheaper and safer to go to the record store and order more tapes.
