@steveoutdoorsuk1788 - As soon as I saw your comment, I thought, "...uh-oh... *_that's_* going to bring some infidels out of the woodwork!" Sure enough, There's already someone who is willing to demonstrate a complete lack of understanding of the history of contemporary music. It would be interesting to see what the musicians in whoever else thingks is "the greatest band" have to say. If they're not clueless (or children), they'll know.

1964 seems the Beatles live at their happiest. Love the way that George got a real place in the whole show, singing lead or harmonies with Paul (all my loving, things we say today) Just four lads having a blast
Eternally fresh, eternally exciting, eternally cheering. May God bless the Beatles, one and all, for what they gave us. This version of the show is very well put together, in fact the best I've seen. Congrats to whoever did it.
This is many concerts but still it's a great video of the greatest band ever the Beatles, thank you whoever put it together and thank you John,Paul,George and Ringo,I wouldn't be a musician today if not for you. Bob
Given that there are no mics on the equipment, and that Paul's between-songs dialogue does not seem to be in the acoustic field seen in the film, I suspect that audio sweetening was done afterward. This type of work was done extensively on the Shea Stadium film and also for the "Our World" later release of "All You Need is Love". ~
@SharonMacVicar-o9g Your probably right. That's not an uncommon practice even today. But enough of the original performance seeps through to make the piece worth listening to.
This is the only video that actually shows John's lead solo on You Can't Do That live. Every other live video focuses on Paul and George during the guitar solo
You're both not very well informed Beatle fans. John sings You Can't Do That clearly and with better video quality in the 1964 Australian concert where at the end a fan manages to get on stage and shake John's hand... while he's still playing his guitar.
@@kentduryea7109 what is your point? Why the put down? There are lots of videos out there and most don’t show lead players in early sixties, except a few. Well informed?/ is not a competition. @@kentduryea7109 The Australian live video doesn't show Lennon playing the lead solo during You Can't Do That. The camera focuses on Paul and George instead.
@@BritIronRebel What in the lead solo is everybody talking about? Naturally when it's Paul and George's turn to sing the camera pivots over to them then back to John singing solo. The Australian director is calling all the shots to that recording of the show. He can't have the camera fixed on John the entire song through. That would be professionally stupid. It was a very fine production. Foreigners are good at that and preserving recordings. I don't know what the gripe is all about regarding some damn solo. I wouldn't change a thing about how it was directed.
Man, them Fabs was tired by this show! Love it anyway. It must’ve been insane trying to sing those harmonies without monitors and the audience putting out as much sound as them. This mix misses a lot of George’s guitar work. But if you’re a fan of John’s rhythm, this video is amazing.
The soundtrack is from Convention Hall in Philadelphia on September 2, 1964 during the bands first "coast to coast" tour of the US & Canada....(August 19-September 20, 1964).
Of course all Beatles fans knows that John and Paul suffered stage fright when comes to play the lead guitar and solo in the songs, that's why George was the lead guitarist they all knew he was the most skilled of them, there are a lot of interviews and videos of that point with John, Paul and George talking about it, and that's why he joined The Quarrymen group... long live THE BEATLES!!!... 🇲🇽✌😎
Wow. One of the very rare (maybe the only) footage of John playing the lead part of YOU CAN'T DO THAT...the camera is ALWAYS on George in other footage. Great!
Superb. Many thanks for posting this. Amazing singing and playing (especially considering they did not have monitors, and so could not hear each other properly).
They will be talking about the Beatles, John, Paul, George & Ringo, the songs & lyrics , Beatlemania & the whole Beatle explosion long into the future. There will never be another like them.

Hey, these guys are pretty good. It's always fun to see bands when they are young and explosive. The Stones and Zeppelin also had that same feel of youthful explosiveness on their early recordings. There were a few concerts in England in this era when the Beatles and Stones both played and that must have been a sweet ticket.
I attended a Stones concert in a cinema in Watford, England in October '64, but you couldn't hear a thing because of the girls screaming. Could hardly see the band either because the girls were all throwing their arms up and blocking the view. And I was up in the top part of the cinema looking down at the s brightly lit stage. Could only see Keith Richards thrusting his guitar forward at the girls as if it was his c*ck, lol.
