    ...just a quick note to clarify my comments in the video - I think one Beosound Balance roughly equates to one Beolab 9 or Beolab 20 speaker in terms of volume, bass depth and room filling capabilities. This is my view based on listening only - apologies if I was unclear in the video. Also, please read 104dB for the maximum SPL (sound pressure level) of one Balance, not 114 dB as mentioned in the video - sorry!

    I am from the 90's era when I used to lock to B&O product and find them from another planet compare to the other brand in the market like Panasonic and pioneer, where all their sound system was made from boring black plastic and all the speakers in the market where black wooden or plastic box. Beolab 8000 and beolab 1 used to look for me like something out of the world. for this reason I like my 1990 to 2010 product and prefer them to the new ones in late 2010's. The balance look very nice but now it does not look much distinct from other brands in the market like Bose or JBL. This is all my personal opinion and based on Design only not sound quality, hence I did not here the balance yet As I did not check or B&O store in Kuwait yet.from my point of view Steve I really like what you do when you opened the possibly with your cables and video , in addition to your Ideas for integrating the old with the new product. I really appreciate this and this what make you special.

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! Yes, I think B&O need to make the most of their aluminium styling capabilities in their designs, Beosound 1 and 2 were great examples of this. Balance is a good speaker, but the design is a bit too subtle for my liking.....

      Hi, that is something I had never thought about before! I don't think the speaker will do this automatically, but if you choose the Google-enabled version then you have lots of options for storing Google commands to the speaker to allow for automation. I suggest researching to see if Google's ecosystem will allow that - please let me know what you find out!

    A very interesting account of integrating the Beosound Balance with classic B&O equipment which many of us still have. • @soundsheavenly

      @@MLodovicoG Thanks! If you currently use Beolink Multiroom to share your music around the house, then I recommend staying with the M5s, as Balance doesn't support B&O Multiroom. However, if you use the M5s separwtely from your other speakers (or if you use Chromecast or Airplay 2 for your multi room music) then the Balance makes a superb upgrade to the sound.

    This looks great, thank you! I think that B & O really dropped the ball with the colors on the gold one - what happened to consistency and honesty of materials: FAKE gold with pale oak? Maybe as a limited run special, but please make a ‘natural’ version, ie silver aluminum, and the option of rosewood would be marvelous, classic, and still great, like you suggested. If they want to make ‘fake’ colors, I would prefer a copper color over gold, or a matt muted pink, to match the Beolit 17 pink, which I own, and love. Although the black one looks ok, but pretty bland and drab, compared to your and my suggested alternatives. Very useful video, thank you!

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! I agree, the colours aren't great on camera, although they do come over a bit better when you see the speakers in real life. Still not true B&O style I suspect...

    Great video Steve!! Question: Do you think it would be a good idea to connect two Balances to a Beolab 19 (if this is possible, of course)?
    I have one Balance now, and although the bass is great at mid-volume, it struggles to keep up with the mids and highs at higher levels. Adding a subwoofer to a set should make a powerful setup. What do you think?
    Best!

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, glad you liked the video! I am sorry but you can't use Beolab speakers alongside smart speaker like the Balance - this is due to an audio delay in the Balance that will cause an echo between the speakers.

      Phantom Gold is certainly an incredible speaker! I heard two Phantom Silvers stereo paired recently and I was blown away by them. If you like deep bass then the Phantom wins without a doubt. However, the Balance has a sweeter tone to the music that seems to make it easier on the ears for many music genres - I would suggest trying to get to hear both speakers if you get the chance to make up your mind.....please let me know what you think to their sound!
