+Ian Lopez I don't think it does. The problem seems to be that they half-assed it. Permission to make vulgar, ignorant jokes, wouldn't change that. Besides, this was about different types of people. So one group couldn't complain, if they also joked about their counterparts. They could've clowned everyone from the conservative, to the black panther, to the naturalist, to the conspiracy theorist, to the young "old head", etc.. They could've made it better, with just more thought put into it. Just because it's not funny, doesn't automatically mean "The pc police are ruining things again".
Girllll and those intros at different events by the students of that HBCU be overdramatic Hello my name is Keke and I am a student of THE ILLUSTRIOUSSSSSSSS (insert HBCU name here).
You forgot the Greek life over enthusiasts who can’t stop chanting, strolling, etc everywhere they go, the band head, and the non-black person who’s really excited for “cultural enrichment”
Ian Lopez if you would read up you would see that I'm not commenting @George but I'm commenting at the guy who said "why does he have to be white" so I mean you could easily scroll up to see that I wasn't talking to George 🤦🏾♀️☕️🤷🏽♀️
al4sake and where are the kids in drumline and marching band there? HBCUs often have the best drumlines and marching bands around and universities have big bands so you definitely meet some of them.
al4sake omg this is so true. While I'm in my computer science program my other friends in business and stuff would always say I can't do this, this stuff is hard. I just look at them and say "you have no idea. Let's trade! Lol
Buzzfeed has one of this most racist comment section when the video has anything to do with black topics. You never see that under any other videos. Smh
I'm alumni from a historical black college; it was one of the best experiences of my life. Though I feel like these kind of personalities are on any campus, it was still quite true.
I love how they put the student's last names as the names of some of the HBCUs. I'll be attending Bethune-Cookman University in the fall by the way as a Biology major. #BCU21 🐯 👩🏾⚕️🐾
I went to Texas Southern University was originally supposed to attend Dillard and this is spot on! I'm currently attending a "diverse" but not really diverse university at the moment and when I tell you the environment is completely different I mean it. You see POC but it's few and far between and the people definitely aren't friendly and it's weird going to class and only seeing two or three students that look like you. Don't get my started on some of the things I've heard in class directed at hispanics by Caucasian students when Trump came into office. Some people would say the rudest things even when the professor was Hispanic 🤦🏾♀️ I actually went off on one privileged girl for saying something disrespectful and eventually she ended up being my final project partner that I had to put in her place more than once during that time. And for those of you that are confused HBCUs are a real thing not a name that buzzfeed came up with so they're not being racist. HBCUs were created for the betterment of African Americans when it was hard for them to get accepted into colleges but every race was allowed to attend these schools. It wasn't intended to segregate an already segregated education system.
I see, like, less than 5 percent of the comments saying anything like that and 90% of the comments saying "look at all these butthurt white people lol."
David William If you're black that's a real shame. 90% of BuzzFeed videos are starring white people. But as soon as it's starring nonwhites, people have issues.
I soooooo agree with this. But They missed one thing, the quiet student who doesn’t talk to anyone, minds her business , only asks questions when necessary, and hates partner/ group projects and class presentations.......
HBCU were universities created after reconstruction to give black people (former slaves) and opportunity to have higher education because many were denied access at other universities present at the time on the basis of their race. HBCU have always been open to every race and as I've gone to one I've seen Asian students, Hispanic students and white students attend these universities. Any university that is not called an HBCU is historically a white university. HBCU are not named so because of the population of black students but because of the history behind the establishment of the institution. With all that said I'm still disappointed in this video because there was little distinction between these students and students you could find anywhere.
Is this video supposed to have a point about HBCU being the same as every other university? Because these are people you find in literally every other university.
Ummm why is Hampton the professor? That spot should go to the illustrious, REAL HU, Howard University! 💁🏾✨ How many bisons do we have in the comments rn?! Also if you do know what an HBCU is or you didn't get all the puns in this video you are really missing out. I love my HBCU, I wouldn't give it up for anything in the world. I really wish more black people could go but I know how expensive it can be. Either way this vid was hilarious and the way you represented Howard was too accurate. I swear we're never on time for anything and we are the diva of all HBCUs! 😂😂
Whenever there is a video about Historically Black Colleges, trust me, there are about 100 idiots that can’t grab the concept that these colleges don’t exclude people from other races so they end up labeling it racist
I feel like besides the natural girl... you can really find the rest of these people in any other college around the USA and even around the world. They could have done a better job with having more unique types of HBCU students or was the point they were trying to make that every college has these types of people...
Should've added the fraternity or sorority who always made they organization known. The actor who is always dramatic and the student who's in his 30s and up and who cares too much about they education than the students
Oh yeah, they forgot the fraternity/sorority pledge who's either always sleep in class worn out from pledging stuff over the weekend or always dressed in para from head toe, stepping all over the damn place to make their presence known. And that model chick wasn't dressed to the nine's like they made her out to be. They also forgot the band member.
I went to an HBCU (FLORIDA A & M UNIVERSITY! WHATS UP TO ALL MY RATTLER ALUMNI!!🐍🐍🐍🐍) & this was absolutely on point!! Btw, my ex boyfriend was the Woke AF dude in college!! LOL!!
oh lord a paper a week. time to drop class. i go to suno (new Orleans) and i have yet to meet some of these people but i do have that friend who is always passing out flyers
Llanah Davis Yes, but conscious types come in all races. I will say they forgot the fraternity/sorority pledge who always wants to make their presence known.
AJ Writer but not that specific type of conscious. the point is: we automatically relate to it and it's funny for us. the fact that I heard "Michael X" and automatically thought back to someone I knew and it was so funny to me is what this video was made for. You might find one or two people like this elsewhere but the fact that it's so well known and prominent in HBCUs is why it was included in a specific video. AND all their last names are HBCUs and their personalities were matched to the specific college and the types of people you'd find there. A lot of people don't even know HBCUs exist, there will be other basic college videos.
I feel like this could have been funnier
+Ice Bear Don't think that has anything to do with it.....
Remy Mafia It really does though
+Ian Lopez I don't think it does. The problem seems to be that they half-assed it. Permission to make vulgar, ignorant jokes, wouldn't change that. Besides, this was about different types of people. So one group couldn't complain, if they also joked about their counterparts. They could've made it better, with just more thought put into it. Just because it's not funny, doesn't automatically mean "The pc police are ruining things again".
Buzzfeed makes half assed videos that's why
Chloe Carroll Wow, 666 likes...
HBCUs love the word illustrious.
Starr H. If I hear that word one more time 😂😂😂!
Girllll and those intros at different events by the students of that HBCU be overdramatic

George Dlr Yassss!!
George Dlr why does he have to be white, thats racist
Let's Get Right Into The News! maybe because the video is about the types of people you meet at a hbcu and that's accurate☕️
Ian Lopez if you would read up you would see that I'm not commenting @George but I'm commenting at the guy who said "why does he have to be white" so I mean you could easily scroll up to see that I wasn't talking to George 🤦🏾♀️☕️🤷🏽♀️
Where are the elite STEM students, where they laugh how other majors think they have it hard.
al4sake and where are the kids in drumline and marching band there? HBCUs often have the best drumlines and marching bands around and universities have big bands so you definitely meet some of them.
al4sake omg this is so true. While I'm in my computer science program my other friends in business and stuff would always say I can't do this, this stuff is hard. I just look at them and say "you have no idea. Let's trade! Lol
well, tbf, there were only a few student types in this vid. To include students of every major field would be a long video.
^This! Me and friends were totally those people!
I'm right here! lmao
Is it just me or was the acting pretty cringy
Its just you...
no, /you're/ the only one who thought it /wasn't/ cringey.

Buzzfeed has one of this most racist comment section when the video has anything to do with black topics. You never see that under any other videos. Smh

Tashiba Lampkin tho I'm not a hair product junkie, I just turned naturalista the moment my mother couldn't force me to get perms anymore 🤷🏾♀️
Stay natural y’all 🤪

I'm alumni from a historical black college; it was one of the best experiences of my life. Though I feel like these kind of personalities are on any campus, it was still quite true.

I see, like, less than 5 percent of the comments saying anything like that and 90% of the comments saying "look at all these butthurt white people lol."

Pause at 1:39 My face when I am just done with school
I soooooo agree with this. But They missed one thing, the quiet student who doesn’t talk to anyone, minds her business , only asks questions when necessary, and hates partner/ group projects and class presentations.......
Living for this :). Not meaning to take away attention from HBCUs or the video, but I would love one on women's colleges as well.
With all that said I'm still disappointed in this video because there was little distinction between these students and students you could find anywhere.
This is perfect 😂😂😂 I know everyone that fits this video!
Adrianna Brown Almost like you'd find these people at any college
Ian Lopez Is an HBCU not apart of "any college?"
asiadavisgurl1 If it's "any college" then why'd you have to specify HBCU?
asiadavisgurl1 Cause it implies exclusivity :v
Eu Mim Oh, please. Why are you two so triggered by it? This is ridiculous 😂
I can't wait to go to a hbcu🙌🏾 it's liiit
There was so much potential for this video...
that opening of leaving if the teacher was 15 minutes late was the golden rule lol. 😩😂
Just got back from visiting 5 hbcu’s in GA and FL ...had lots of fun
The "teacher" is one of the worst actors I've ever seen in my entire life
Fun fact White people actually attend HBCUs and experience no hate or bigotry on campus.
Is it weird that this didnt feel like a Buzzfeed video?
Is this video supposed to have a point about HBCU being the same as every other university? Because these are people you find in literally every other university.
Ummm why is Hampton the professor? That spot should go to the illustrious, REAL HU, Howard University! 💁🏾✨ How many bisons do we have in the comments rn?!

I have.
Whenever there is a video about Historically Black Colleges, trust me, there are about 100 idiots that can’t grab the concept that these colleges don’t exclude people from other races so they end up labeling it racist
There are people like this at any college...
Demonism Did you not read the title?
Swrvington "Any college" includes black colleges so what's your point?
Lakyn Marie There's no reason to be a moron right now...
Lakyn Marie oh look sjw got offended.
Adams42 Who's offended? Y'all are just willfully obtuse.
No ones gonna talk about the typo with "Fashionista" ...
I went to an PWI, so it's so fun watching these sorts of videos!
We called the super senior "professional students"
Man...the teacher's collar...
THE SÚPER SÚPER SENIOR IS SOOO REAL YO

Its "head to to"
😂😂
You're damn right I'm butthurt...about all those spelling errors lol
I feel like besides the natural girl... you can really find the rest of these people in any other college around the USA and even around the world. They could have done a better job with having more unique types of HBCU students or was the point they were trying to make that every college has these types of people...
Always wanted to go to a HBCU....but life..😒

They can’t be given away all the secrets and types of ppl in the black community lmao
"Ladies free until 11 but you know doors open at 12"
I see an awful lot of people saying this isn't racist, but no one saying it is...
You're late
StayFocused keep scrolling, there's a ton of them.
Amazing video!
Who else was singing the theme to "A Different World" in their head while watching this?
This is also just the kind of people you meet if you took any African American Studies classes or went to the African American Student Center
“Girls free until 11. Doors open at 12” I am weak 😭😭😭😂
Hey I love yalls videos!!
well that's 2 minutes I'll never get back
Do "7 people you meet at a Seven Sisters college" (or just women's colleges in general)!
Every HBCU is illustrious 😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
What's with the REALLY low production quality here.
McKensie Howard but I go by Mecca lmaooooo
It took me a moment to realize that their last names are in fact HBCU's 😂
This is ridiculously accurate.
Should've added the fraternity or sorority who always made they organization known. The actor who is always dramatic and the student who's in his 30s and up and who cares too much about they education than the students
"Head to to..." Lol. :)
LOL! But isn't that Back Students at any college?! LOL I loved it. Great Job Ms Harrison!
@1:34 why did they put "head to to" ???? Buzzfeed, spellcheck is your friend fam.
The super, super senior lmao
The last names. 😂 I love it.
"Dressed from head to to with the latest trends" 🔮I see an editor in trouble in the near future...
The athlete made me literally LOL
HBCU? Nah you can find these at a PWI too lol
These are so accurate even for high school kids
that senior...😂😂😂😂😂
yo swear to gawdddd ive seen these examples in every black college movie
Should just be titled 7 Black Folks You Meet in College. Mine was about 1/2 (seemed like it, anyway) and we had all 7 lol
It's funny how all of these stereotypes could be found in one class of my 99.9% white psych faculty.
LADIES FREE TILL 11 DOORS OEN AT 12 IS STORY OF MY LIFE
Oh yeah, they forgot the fraternity/sorority pledge who's either always sleep in class worn out from pledging stuff over the weekend or always dressed in para from head toe, stepping all over the damn place to make their presence known. And that model chick wasn't dressed to the nine's like they made her out to be. They also forgot the band member.
Its funny cause in my african american history class in college my proffessor loved and lived by her syllabus lol
I went to an HBCU (FLORIDA A & M UNIVERSITY! WHATS UP TO ALL MY RATTLER ALUMNI!!🐍🐍🐍🐍) & this was absolutely on point!! Btw, my ex boyfriend was the Woke AF dude in college!! LOL!!
Fashionista dressed from head to to? Do you mean head to toe?
There’s always that one student from DC. In my case, I am one of the ones from DC (there are a few of us but I’m at a PWI)
1:33 dressed from head to TO 😂
Accurate af lol. I graduated from Southern (Baton Rouge, La) and have met everyone of these personalities. I fit one of these myself lol
I'm activist and natural 😂
why would you ever go to one? my older brother went and transfered the next semester.
Sooooooo, everybody's too occupied with being fake mad to recognize the typo in Jazz's intro?!
oh lord a paper a week. time to drop class. i go to suno (new Orleans) and i have yet to meet some of these people but i do have that friend who is always passing out flyers
Collage Humour can sleep easy tonight.
Other than the natural hair chick, these are types of people at every college, especially the club promoting one.
So the "Michael X, Dillard is my slave name" black activist isn't primarily found at an HBCU?
Llanah Davis Yes, but conscious types come in all races. I will say they forgot the fraternity/sorority pledge who always wants to make their presence known.
AJ Writer but not that specific type of conscious. the point is: we automatically relate to it and it's funny for us. the fact that I heard "Michael X" and automatically thought back to someone I knew and it was so funny to me is what this video was made for. I died at "that's my slave name" because that's me😂
