I have this reel and I really like it, in fact it was my first baitcaster. There are a few things that people need to keep in mind before buying it though. The reel is a pain casting anything lighter than 60 grams. I suppose is its deep spool which when loaded with braid becomes heavy. You then either have to set the brakes too high and lose distance or suffer the bird’s nests. Many people advertise it as sea fishing suitable. That is simply not true. There are no seals whatsoever, and the main parts are mostly brass, which although durable is susceptible to salt water. That being said I still use it for sea fishing, I just make sure to wash it thoroughly every time after fishing and I service it twice as often with plenty of grease. Lastly the carbon drag washers don’t seem to be the highest quality and they seem to create dust after some use. That being said I love the reel and it’s very beginner friendly. Great return for your money, and I even like this small feature of engaging back the spool with your thumb! I hope this was useful, and I’m looking forward to your impressions when you use it!
I've been in North Norway with this reel and have used it for slow jigging with weights up to 150gr between 50 - 100m. I can tell you this reel is awesome even without a drag clicker. Very solid and still working smooth . Now I have also bought the slower version fishing for pike. It can't be wrong.
Hello Andrew! If Im not mistaken, the XH rod you wanna pair it with works with lures in the range of 18-45 grams. I have this reel, and it truly performs when casting weights above 100 grams (its a 300 size). Its ideal for heavy duty pike (and muskie) fishing, but paired with swim-baits rods up to 200 grams. Other than that, another application would be sea fishing, as you mentioned.
I’ve been using the higher ratio model with the power handle on my 40 to 120g slow pitch jig rod in the salt for a little over 18 months now. Good reel and has held up well not quite as refined as my Shimano Tranx but for 1/4 the price excellent reel.
Je vous remercie Andrew pour les vidéo, moi j'ai les 2 versions du moulinet aljos et je lance des leurres de Trent a cent grammes et fonctionne depuis 2 ans que je l utilise
Hi I have never used a bait caster type reel in my life (im 62) but want to try the piscifun alijos 300 reel for surf fishing...... I use a 4 meter long rod and sling a minimum of a 4oz sinker, 50lb braid with 2 hooks and large baits...... is this reel capable of handling this type of setup. Am I wasting my time and money even trying something like this...... you advise would be most helpful....... Cheers

Thanks for sharing.
I was able to cast 30 g. lure (which cast very bad), so, it can go lower. So, in my opinion 25 g. is min.

Yes, they've mislead you/others. XH version is up to around 130 g. casting. There will be review video on the rod at some point.

If there is a drag clicker for this reel, I hope you post a follow up video installing it, and a link to the clicker!
On order and will update the description with the link. Also, likely there will be "on the water" reel review where it will be clicking.
@@AndrewsKnots what size drag clicker did you order? AliExpress?
Is what looks a pin on the spool used for securing/attaching the line? if not , what is it for?
Yes.
does the line guide move back and forth in free spool/casting like abu reels to ensure even line placement?
Don't think so.
What click drag kit did you order for this reel?
I will share it once installed and tested.

I’m using the same reel using 80lb braid and throwing lures up to 16oz. No problems yet!
Don't do this kind of fishing, can't comment.

The same as with spinning reel; you need 'right hand' option.
Any idea what other handles I can purchase for this reel? Mine has the single ball reel and I'm looking to replace it.
Not really.
Unfortunately drag clicker from the link does not fit perfect on this reel. It made for much smaller reels than alijos is.
It works for me.
@@AndrewsKnots Yes it does. Now its about a half of year since i use it, and i have no any problems.
