Hey everyone, We just wanted to apologise for the misleading title of this video. We were fully aware of the different genres like P-pop, Q-pop and Cantonese Pop. We used the term 'K-pop' as an umbrella term to represent how K-pop inspired these groups (style, music videos and aesthetic), which is also why we put quotation marks in the title. Some groups are also trained by Korean companies in their respective countries which is why we thought it was fitting. We were wrong. We acknowledge this mistake and agree with everyone who has commented so far, we should have phrased the title better. If it is any better, we reworded the title but if anyone would like to suggest an alternative title for this video, please comment under this thread! Thank you for bringing this issue up to us. We hope you continue to support the channel. We will do better next time.

there no such thing as international KPOP. You’re kpop if you’re from Korea. These other groups are from their own country therefore not KPOP. Let’s say KPOP inspired but let’s not label them into one. Thank you.

Hello, tnx for including SB19 in your reaction.. They maybe K-Pop inspired since they are trained under a korean training under a K management here in the Philippines but they they are not K-Pop.. SB19 is promoting P-Pop (Philippine Pop)
SB19 never intended being called Kpop though being INSPIRED by it and they never claimed being one. Their goal is to break the music scene in the Philippines and introduce PPOP to the world. They even performed that song wearing native filipino outfits in the RIZAL PARK AND MUSEUM OF THE PHILIPPINES for their performance. They are our nation's pride:)
We admire them so much for this. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, we believe that our message did not go across properly. Once again, we did not want to disrespect any genre, we merely made a mistake phrasing the title. We are well aware of SB19 and the origins of P-pop along with its history. Thank you very much!

The boy bands of K-Pop aren't all that different from international boy bands of the 90's, and they borrow heavily from hip hop and urban music generally. Nothing wrong with that, but to say that everyone is copying K-Pop ignores the fact that it borrows from elsewhere.
We wouldn't say copy, inspired might be a better word. We're sorry if the title did not get our message and intentions properly. We will do better next time. Please continue to support us.
@@keibargado005 Yes, but K-pop itself has developed a very particular aesthetic. I think we can both agree on that and in this video, we tried to showcase how the K-pop aesthetic has influenced other pop groups abroad, mostly Asia. We apologise if the message was not clear but we had no ill intent when making this video, we did not purposely disrespect the other genres but we will do better in the future.
@@theyonseiannals6751 I agree to this one. I think evolutionis important. Kpop didnt become what it is overnight. It took years and I think every music is influence from the other. Even hip hop dancing is African inspired, not just african american but African and yet they don't get much recognition.
I think it's better to say that they are just K-pop inspired than they are International K-pop. Obviously, their songs aren't hangeul. SB19 is P-POP and Z-GIRLS is Z-POP. SB19 is promoting OPM (Filipino Music) while Z-Girls is creating new genre which is Z-pop. (GenZ from 7 diff Asian countries. They're going to release songs in diff language soon.) And please, do some research first before you react to someone. Anyway, thanks for this.

Mabuhay!
Hi! Thank you for initiating this kind of video reaction. However, I'd like to point out that these groups aren't international kpop groups because they aren't koreans to start with. Let's take the case of Z-pop (Z-girls). These girls came from different countries and not a single korean member is included, they maybe managed by a korean ent but doesn't mean they are a kpop, rather they are promoting diverse culture of Generation Z (1995 and up born). SB19 is not as well 'Kpop' because they are P-Pop. Philippine Pop/Pinoy Pop, like the case of the Z-Girls, they are managed by a Korean Mngt but doesn't mean they are kpop because they are Filipinos and they are promoting P- pop music, a sub genre of OPM we have in the Philippines. In general, Pop is an existing genre and so these countries are creating a different flavor and different appeal to an audience. It could have been better if you say that these groups are influenced by kpop which is evident and relevant but calling them as "international kpop group" that's a different story. Hope you understand where everyone is coming as it may lead to these student reactors that the groups they reacted is indeed an "international kpop group"
Hello, thanks for bringing this forward, we really appreciate this. We have already addressed similar concerns you brought up earlier, we specifically put quotation marks on the word k-pop to emphasize that these pop groups have been inspired by k-pop, that fact alone is undeniable. Throughout the years, K-pop has evolved from getting inspiration from other genres of music and groups of people and it's similar in this case, these groups have adopted the aesthetic and style of K-pop and turned it their own. We are well aware of the differences between these genres and in no way, shape or form are trying to disrespect/discredit anyone's hard work. We apologise if our message did not translate properly but we would like to clarify once again, that we do not have any ill-intent when making this video.
"The appearance of the members must not be important"?? "At least he's handsome"???? Yikes... Those comments really made me uncomfortable as a fan of Ninety One and Kazakh pop in general. Looks aren't everything and it's VERY toxic to think that only "pretty" people can make music or be on a screen. She should to go an ophthalmologist because I think her eyes aren't working if she thinks they aren't handsome. Criticizing their looks was extremely rude. Also you didn't properly explain why they were criticized so I think you got your information from a bad source or didn't do enough research. Their country was heavily traditional and they pushed gender norms by wearing makeup, earrings, ripped jeans, and coloring their hair. Their entire style and singing in Kazakh - which wasn't widely used anymore after the USSR occupation - were seen as controversial and satanic. It wasn't just criticism, but also threats on their life to where they and their boss had to move houses every month to avoid being hurt. Even to this day there are those who try to shut them down, but they started a whole era of youth who want freedom to express themselves. It's awe-inspiring, really.
Before A'TIN was announced on November 2, 2019, there was an unofficial fandom name called "AURUM" the Latin word for gold and the source of its chemical symbol, "Au". Aurum is not a fandom name but a group of people supporting SB19. Before SB19s debut, Aurum already existed. It was misunderstood by fans so Aurum was spread and called as SB19's fandom name. ☆Meaning behind our "A'TIN". A'TIN "There's no 19 if there's no 18" ATIN means ours. AURUM'sb9TIN There is an apostrophe ( ' ) after "A" in A'TIN. Sejun said that Aurum will never die and it will be forever in their hearts so they put an apostrophe after A remarking Aurum in A'TIN. The meaningful AURUM is still part of our fandom name and A'TIN without AURUM is actually nothing. A'TIN becomes more meaningful because of AURUM. That is how thankful our SB19 is. They know how to look back where they started and humbleness in them never fade. And I am proud to be part of "A'TIN with AURUM" or "A'TIN without S"

Thanks for including SB19 into this reaction. From reading all the comments below, hearing international K-Pop didn’t bother me as much as the fact that you all preferred the other two groups over SB19, but I guess I can’t expect everyone to be an avid fan as I am. Nevertheless, I’m still thankful for their recognition. Hope you can react on SB19’s other videos, preferably their Go Up Dance Practice, which made them go viral, and their TH-cam Fan Fest video, Hanggang sa Huli in Wish107.5 to name a few.
Thank you for including SB19 in your reaction. But they are not Kpop, they are Ppop ( Pinoy Pop or Philippine Pop ). They are trained under a Korean Company and received a hardcore Korean training. They are really good at singing and dancing. Please do react to their live performances of Love Goes and Hanggang sa Huli on Wish 107.5.
sb19 IS JUST PPOP. they are under a Korean company in the Philippines, they dye their hair sometimes, they copy fashion in Korea. they are influenced by Kpop. But when it comes to talent and their songs, everything about them, it's all Filipino. what makes Kpop, Kpop anyway? isn't it the language and race association a big factor? YES. POP is everywhere, not only in Korea. POP can be interpreted in any other forms by all countries. Well, these guys are not Korean and they are not speaking and singing in Korean. It doesn't mean that if you dye your hair, do KPOP song covers, eat Korean food, copy KPop fashion, you are already Kpop. You are only influenced by Korea.
Yes, this is the message we wanted to share but we should have put 'inspired' in the title rather than just simply saying 'k-pop' with quotation marks. We have already revised the title and if you have anymore comments or suggestions, please let us know. Thank you!

SB19 was formed by ShowBT Philippines, the Philippine subsidiary of ShowBT Group in Korea, after the five members were selected out of hundreds of aspiring idols during a talent audition in 2016 and underwent the same type of training provided to K-pop idols, attending classes ranging from voice and dance to personality development and body conditioning. The group debuted on October 26, 2018, with their first single, "Tilaluha". Their initial effort at promotions, mostly in schools and malls, was met with a lukewarm reception. 2019-present: Mainstream breakthrough SB19 performing at Lazada 11.11 Supershow in Sofitel Harbour Tent on November 11, 2019. Their second single, "Go Up", was released on July 26, 2019. The group began gaining attention after uploading their dance practice video for the song to their TH-cam channel, which became a viral sensation on Twitter and Facebook after it was shared on the social media platform by a Filipino K-pop fan. This paved the way for the group's appearance in various radio and television shows as well as coverage from different local and international media outlets. On November 20, 2019, SB19 became the first Filipino act to appear on the Billboard Next Big Sound chart. They also became the first Filipino act to enter the Billboard Social 50, debuting at no. 28 on the week of December 28, 2019 and ascending over the following months. Jeff Benjamin, writing for Billboard, noted that their rise in the chart was aided by a growing international fanbase, and remarked that it was an indication that "more artists [will] continue to look East for inspiration and a larger audience". SB19 is a five-member Filipino boy band who debuted in 2018 and consists of Josh, Sejun, Stell, Ken, and Justin. They are the first Filipino act trained by a Korean entertainment company to debut in the Philippines. They are also the first Southeast Asian act to enter the top 10 of Billboard Social 50 as well as the first Filipino group to chart on the Billboard Next Big Sound chart. Despite the apparent K-pop influence, SB19 promotes its music as part of Pinoy pop (P-pop), a popular sub-genre of original Filipino music. Origin: Metro Manila (2018) Record label: Sony Music Philippines, Inc. Albums: Get in the Zone Awards: Awit Award for People's Voice Favorite Breakthrough Artist & more.

If you scrolled through the comments section, we have already addressed this. Yes, they are inspired by other genres from different countries but were able to make a reformed version their own music. It is similar in this case, these groups have also taken inspiration from K-pop such as their aesthetic, style and positions (rapper, vocal, maknae). They have also turned this inspiration into something of their own like SB-19 bringing a different version of P-pop and revolutionizing it.

Not really big fandom, we're just dedicated... actually SB19 has 300k followers only on twitter, but this group is a mainstay in top10 in Billboard social50 and peaked at #2 just next to BTS lasted for weeks... this week SB19 sits at #8 and a mainstay also in other categories like emerging artist and next big sound etc they are the first south east asian group to reach these charts, but still they are not yet fully accepted here in our country too many bashers just because they get inspiration from kpop, that's why fans defend them really hard

Using Pop genre means K-pop please don't claim it like Pop genre owns by Korea cause it's not, it happens that Pop genre clicked to your country doesn't mean you own it. Btw thanks for reacting
Louderrrr!!!!
Yes this is very well said, because often koreans are possisive regarding about Pop Genre

there no such thing as international KPOP. You’re kpop if you’re from Korea. These other groups are from their own country therefore not KPOP. Let’s say KPOP inspired but let’s not label them into one. Thank you.

KPOP ITSELF INSPIRED BY WESTERN AND JPOP MUSIC.Am'I correct?.
@@keibargado005 Yes, but K-pop itself has developed a very particular aesthetic. I think we can both agree on that and in this video, we tried to showcase how the K-pop aesthetic has influenced other pop groups abroad, mostly Asia.

@@theyonseiannals6751 I agree to this one. I think evolutionis important. Kpop didnt become what it is overnight. It took years and I think every music is influence from the other.
They're going to release songs in diff language soon.)

Hola , thankyou for reacting on zgirls I hope you enjoyed best of luck for future videos
Well said
Hello, thanks for bringing this forward, we really appreciate this.
AURUM'sb9TIN
There is an apostrophe ( ' ) after "A" in A'TIN.
And I am proud to be part of "A'TIN with AURUM" or "A'TIN without S"

sb19 IS JUST PPOP. they are under a Korean company in the Philippines, they dye their hair sometimes, they copy fashion in Korea. they are influenced by Kpop.

2019-present: Mainstream breakthrough
SB19 performing at Lazada 11.11 Supershow in Sofitel Harbour Tent on November 11, 2019.

They have also turned this inspiration into something of their own like SB-19 bringing a different version of P-pop and revolutionizing it.

did u know that kpop was inspired by boyband/girlband of the US??? american pop started more than 30yrs...about 20yrs before kpop started to become worldwide known due to social media and internet/youtube. american pop of the 80's/90's did not have youtube, social media to get the kind of exposure that kpop has. american pop died by 2000, then kpop started to get more known as social media/youtube/internet became part of tech lifestyle, the bridge to the rest of the world. btw, sb19 has more of an american pop style and feel than kpop...why do koreans think every other country is copying kpop? when kpop copied american pop of the 80s/90s LOL you can find alot of american boyband/girlband way before kpop became well known...you kind see many videos of 90's girlbands of the US here --> honestlyhelen.com/2015/08/03/a-z-of-90s-girl-groups/ ...i can see alot of american pop in alot of kpop videos in alot of these 90's girlbands USA lol...as you can see, kpop was inspired by american pop LOL...noone is trying to be kpop...they are just trying to be themselves. if anyone thinks these other countries are trying to copy kpop, then we can also say kpop copied american pop LOL
