The ANA is a 777-300. Two of the giveaways are the size of the engines and the extended fuselage. The dead giveaway is the 6-wheel rear landing gears which are distinctive to the 777.
@davek71 That actually did help. I was sitting here watching the video wondering the same thing. Usually its just "Positive Rate - Gear up", but that one had me stumped. Thanks!
What a great plane I flew on a Virgin a340-600 a few years ago Heathrow-Los Angeles it's a giant! A great video you shot - note the Fed-Ex tri-jet around 2.00.
that plane looked way too heavy....if i had of been on that flight, i would have been thinking to myself, are we ever taking off, why is this taking so long to get into the air..are we flying to our destination, or is the plane going to drive us there..
probably took so long for the gaer to go up because observe the aircraft was slow to take off and it looked as if it was very heavy..so the pilots were probably just waiting for it to get to a safe speed before raising the gear..so in the case that the plane stalls or something along those lines, the gear can be there.
@airbusisawesome: Not likely, this is to cool brakes before putting the gear up. Fully loaded plane can increase brake temp to EXTREMELY HOT under heavy braking conditions.
this is the longest commercial jet, i love it, but i love the more sinister design of the 747 because of the 2nd level "hump" and the a380 is a great jet but its too stumpy lol
AirBus rules! This plane is better then Boeing 777. Airbus is always a step ahead. The come with the 777 airbus hits back with A340 they come with the 747 airbus hits back with the A380 Double decker. Airbus for the win!
@reedyspeedy12 im no expert but some jumbo jets like the 747 leave the gear down for a bit to cool it after takeoff. hopefully someone with some expertise can verify/debunk this and shed some light
@tauseef7061 virgin blue dont have an a340-600 this is virgin atlantic and virgin blue is different company... and from what i know virgin blue dont even have any a340s :) only pointing out...
Lovely plane to fly on, but it looks like a toothpick with wings and too many engines... It's hard for me to say it's a good looking plane. But that's my opinion

dude, this was amazingly beautiful. great filming as always.
I saw an A340 flying over my neighborhood the other day. I live in northwest Indiana southeast of Chicago. It was heading most likey to KORD.

Thanks!
This bird flies sometimes over my house here in western Finland to/from Tokyo.
=)

Yes indeed, a FedEx MD-11F.
I am a 777 fan but for some reason a340-600 by virgin blue is one of the best looking planes to me.
I know. I was just referring to the ANA jet in the back ground. Some people were speculating that it was a 787. I was just clearing that up for them.
wow they had the gear down for long. great video!
Very good photography
@Dunneykk72 yes i think the boeing a3340 is a lovely plane too,have you seen the new airbus 787??
That wingspan is Impressive!

again = nice job!! great video
So long and so elegant!
I really think that boeing a340 is some plane!!! my favorite of em all!! i also like the airbus 757

@liamr685 He didn't land, it was just taking off. Why would the brakes be so hot?
what an elegant bird!
damn those engines are beast!
What a beast!! Fantastic...
Do Virgin fly the Airbus a340 to the U.S.??
I love this plane so much.
this is the longest commercial jet, i love it, but i love the more sinister design of the 747 because of the 2nd level "hump" and the a380 is a great jet but its too stumpy lol
@johnpodo but that well increase the drag , isn't it ?!?
More then 50' second to take off can happen but and another 30' second to gear up ...? That is strange !
Do u guys have any idea ?
I think this plane is way cooler than the 747
4:00 from the cockpit:
OH **** I forgot to put the gear up!
lol Not to mention that Virgin Atlantic Paint says Airbus A340-600 on the side.
Is it bigger than B773 ?
This is the longest plane ever!

@stockhus Same thing with me except it's an Iberian A340 on approach to Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport here in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
I personally think the a340 is better looking than the a380, it just looks more natural if you know what I mean,
@reedyspeedy12 im no expert but some jumbo jets like the 747 leave the gear down for a bit to cool it after takeoff. hopefully someone with some expertise can verify/debunk this and shed some light
@davek71 Great ! thanks for the news i didn't know that
this is at narita
I'm surprised he took so long to raise the landing gear.
@tauseef7061 virgin blue dont have an a340-600 this is virgin atlantic and virgin blue is different company... and from what i know virgin blue dont even have any a340s :) only pointing out...
Was it just me or did anyone else think that was a very late landing gear retraction?
I love planes
Who the hell thinks theres a ANA 787 in a video from 2009.. ANA recieved the first 787 in October 2011...
@alphabeta123100 its longer than 773,but not bigger i think
??? its in HD
a fine aircraft prob on way back to london hence the heavy fuel load and long t/o roll
I LOVE A340 :D
Thumbs up for Virgin!
LOL! Did somebody notice the B 777 behind him?
Boeing and Airbus is like Chevy Vs Ford. I love airbus and im a ford man.
I have a piece of this exact same plane, it’s a plane tag
@sesse72 Pilots were 'high'! LOL
@jazzdrum100 i have exactly the same prob but I'm 6"6 so yeh thats why i fly premium!
58 second take off roll !
Wow! !!
No that was a triple 7.
@Dunneykk72 ME TOO I LOVE BOEING 757!!!!!!! and 340 600!
A340 CAN FLY WITH 4 ENGINES, 3 ENGINES AND 2 ENGNES, WHILE B777 ONLY CAN FLY WITH 2 AND 1 ENGINE(S). A340 CAN FLY WITH 1 BY SEVERAL OF TIMES
3 ppl were on the triple 7
Lovely plane to fly on, but it looks like a toothpick with wings and too many engines... It's hard for me to say it's a good looking plane. But that's my opinion
Can I say Heavy!
@dskxalive loool !! that's clear or they were waching a movie ? lol
@szybkilopez566 and the 707 :D
@GazzerHST Nope!
@reedyspeedy12 good question, maybe they are hung over and forgot
rubbish!
